I visited my great aunt last week and she seems so hapoy there. Definately well cared for. The staff were friendly amd even invited me to have lunch. I was hesistant because i was thinking it would be like hospital food. But to my surprise lunch was great! It reminded me of having sunday dinner at my great aunts house. Glad she is somewhere that she is happy at and that really love my aunt. Would highly recommend

I have visited the residents that live at Dominion Village off and on for years now. (my grandma lived there around 10 years ago) I loved this place then and I still love it now. I pop in to visit with some of the residents, and surprisingly enough I still to this day get to see the same staff that worked with my grandma! It was so hard visiting after my grandma passed away, but it's so comforting to see the same faces. When I miss my grandma I think is when I stop by, it's nice to have a "second family" I can reminisce with. There are so many places your loved ones can move to, but I don't think any other nursing home really gives you a welcome home type feeling like Dominion Village does. my grandma called it home and I to this day, still feel like it is a second home to me. That means a lot to me.

I frequently go into Dominion Village, to visit loved ones and my friends loved ones. the building itself is an older building as it's been here for as long as I can remember. But the care that the staff there provides is unlike anything I have ever seen elsewhere. From top to bottom all the staff care about all the residents and the residents families. It is family. I've had family and friends both as a resident there and it truly does turn into home. Its hard to leave your home to move into an assisted living, but somehow the staff at dominion village make it easier but helping you and your family adjust to your new home

My mom has Alzheimers and was comfortably living with my dad until a series of events happened. My dad had a massive stroke and my mom came to live with me. I was caring for my mom and working a 6-day a week job and taking her to adult day care (which became very hard for her) My mom's condition was upgraded to severe, therefore needing 24 hr care. While at my house, she fell 3 times and that concerned me. My sister came from NC and we looked at facilities for her to stay. We choose Dominion Village in Poquoson, Va. Since Poquoson is where we all live it seemed perfect. Well it is, it is a small and down-home type of place and I am convinced that she is happy there. She has her own bedroom and her own bath (complete with a tub) and we are allowed to set all the rules. Her meals are served home-style so if she wants more peas she can have them) and with real dinnerware. The staff is caring and very co-operative. I go to see my mom almost every day and she is doing well. I love the facility and what they are doing for the sick. At first there where wrinkles that had to be ironed out but I am convident now that this was the right choice.
