My mother moved into Hughes Home. I like it. The staff is friendly and attentive, and it's a nice place. It's an older home, but it's nice, it's clean. They have all kinds of different activities. Bingo, movie nights, music. They've had some crafts, and they've had a couple of barbecues. They have a gal that comes in and does hair. They have somebody that comes in and does a pedicure for the residents. They have more of a patio. They do have a canopy cover.

I saw the assisted living at Hughes Home, but I feel like no one would really go there unless they have impaired memory because it's a lot like memory care. I would describe it as very institutional because the walls are made of cinderblocks. I would say it's very clean, but it's like a dorm-room situation. It's got linoleum floors, and you kind of feel like there's nothing warm about it. You don't see it like you were in a home. I don't know what it was before, but it's strange. I felt like the owners were caring and very much involved in their business. The pricing is also affordable. It's a brick building. It's in a nice neighborhood. The seating area outside was OK, but interior renovations would help.

Hughes Home, Inc. was really good. We liked this community a lot. It was homey, clean, the people were friendly, and it looked like they had a lot of activities for the residents. It's also in a nice location. The only activity we were able to observe was a lecture with someone for a book club. The staff member who gave the tour was nice and informative. Their dining area was clean and good.

Do not take your loved one to this facility. I entrusted Hughes Home with the care of my mother who has dementia. After extensive communication and paperwork about her medical condition, they did not list any of her medications with her nurses. After days without her regular medications, they transported her to the emergency room and did not provide adequate medical information, thus endangering her care. The management of this place needs to be replaced. It is not at all well run.

My loved one went to memory daycare at Hughes Home, and I was very happy with it. It was wonderful. It's a family-based Christian community. I have nothing but high praise for the experience as well as their staff. They're very caring and very loving. All the staff is on board with each client. The daycare is situated in the original Hughes Home and has been remodeled to be a daycare with a brand-new assisted living unit now. It's very nice. They have activities during the day, nice lunches, and very good care. Nobody complained about the food.
