My friend was at ManorCare Health Services. It seemed fine, and the rooms were all clean. Everybody that was there seemed happy. The facility is nicely located, and there's plenty of parking.

I would not advise anyone to have their relative stay at Manorcare. My sister was there for a month and they tried to discharge her because they said she "threw herself on the floor" and was yelling. She told me that she fell on the floor and no-one would come to assist her! This facility was not attentive to my sister's needs until they were in a position where other eyes were on them, like people from the Long term Care Ombudsman program and DMAS. An infection landed my relative in the hospital and she said she was glad to leave this place. This is not a place we could recommend for anyone.

My wife went from the hospital to Manorcare. However, it was not a good experience. To start with, the hospital had sent over an order for them to have a piece of medical equipment for my wife, but when she got there, she was told that they did not have it. They had sent her prescription information, but nobody seemed to really look at it. There were certain medications that had to be taken with meals or certain times of the day, and they were just giving them out whenever. That was not very good. They also gave the wrong medicine and brought medicines in a package that had somebody else’s name on it. There were other things that we found not good. They were very cramped and uncomfortable. The rooms were relatively small. You might get in the bathroom if you tried really hard, but there was no way to turn the wheelchair around and there was no way to get out of the wheelchair to the toilet without being able to stand up; there also wasn’t much room for anybody to come in and help. After three days with that, we had to get her out of there and come home. It was very difficult to accomplish and there was nobody there with the authority to sign anything. However, with all the stuff that was going wrong, we were not going to wait for somebody who had signing authority. We just had to get her out of there.

My elderly father was there with a broken leg the summer of 2015. I would like to thank the PT (Brittany & Kristin) who were excellent, Jamila Ali, RN who listened to a couple of serious concerns and addressed them immediately, Richard (Supervisor of Nursing) who always had time for me and my questions no matter how busy he was and for Maxine and Sierra as the CNA's. I would also like to thank Nancy Rubel, the SW who was very helpful and compassionate. Thanks for making a difficult situation so much easier for me to deal with. I was always full of questions and everyone was good to humor me and answer my concerns. I would like to thank all of the above on behalf of my father and me.

The staff there beat my 98 year old grandmother. She has a black eye and blood clots in her brain and has been admitted to the hospital. Do NOT bring your family there!

Somebody referred Manorcare to us. They gave me the address so I visited it. The facility was very good. The staff accommodated me right away. They're very good. I would recommend this place.

My loved one stayed in this facility twice this year and both experiences were subpar. The first visit they were unable to bath themself and the orderly would leave the towels on the bed daily and not help. They went unbathed for a week and a half. This wasn't brought to my attention until discharge for fear that they would receive retribution for complaining. Upon the second visit they were left sitting on the bed unable to reach the call bell, they were unable to get back in the bed unassisted, and was yelling for help and no one came for 30 minutes. A patient in the next room even sent for help and was told that the patient asked to sit on the edge of the bed and was fine.
