Beehive Homes of Salem was a smaller facility with a country home atmosphere. I really liked that. The only thing that was keeping me from going there was that the rooms were not quite big enough. Other than that, I don't have anything bad to say about the facility and the services they offered. The food was good. They had activities for the residents. The willingness of upper management to try and help individuals like myself find and accommodate the needs of my mother stood up to me. They were all about taking care of your loved one, but somebody had to pay the bill and find the funds, and they were all over that. They offered all kinds of ways to help you out.

This facility is pretty new, with a nice front and back porch where residents can relax in chairs and take in a little sun. The staff are very helpful. A friend I know there, a resident, receives letters regularly from her grandchildren and the staff sit down with her and read it to her, because of her failing eyesight. She loves mail time because of what she might receive. She's light a kid on Christmas day when the post comes. I know that she once received a hand drawn picture from a grandchild and she hung it above her bed in a place of pride for weeks. Or at least until she received another drawing.
