We are very pleased with The Hamptons At Greenridge. The staff is wonderful and the food is terrific. We have a first-floor apartment that's not too far away from the dining room, the activities, and the mailboxes. There are great grounds outside for walking our dog. The people here are very friendly and very alert to any questions we ask. There's a menu for the week and we have to choose between lunch and supper. Sometimes we eat both, and they give us choices. There are games going on like bingo, hand & foot, and several others. They also offer a craft class and an art class. My husband is a priest and he has started an evening prayer one day a week here that's been off to a very good start. They have bus trips to grocery stores or Wal-Mart. Sometimes every Friday, they take a busload to an area restaurant for an eat out. There are quite a lot of activities. They even have movies a couple of times a week and exercise classes.

The Hamptons At Greenridge was very nice, I can't think of anything I did not like about it. They have a fitness center, a salon, and a courtyard. The person who gave the tour was warm and personable, she stayed with us the entire time and eat lunch with us. The food there was good, and we had a good dining experience. They just don't have vegetarian food. The facility looks newer than the other places we've toured. It's located near a college but it wasn't close to shopping if you drove, but they offer transportation.

I loved The Hamptons At Greenridge, but it was just a little too pricey. Other than that, everything was fantastic. The menu looked great. Everybody there was just extremely friendly. The rooms were also fantastic.

I thought The Hamptons At Greenridge was a very nice facility. But I don't think that it would be anything we would choose in the future, just because they're independent living. I didn't see the point of it since I just expected something different, I guess. We saw the villas, and I thought they were overpriced. I don't see what the attraction to being independent living was if you lived there. The only thing that was attractive about it was that it seemed safe. But I don't see why you would need to pay $3,000 for that square footage if you weren't getting more benefits. There was no food, and the staff didn't even mention housekeeping, I don't know if there was any. If you were independent living, why you choose to spend $3,000 and not have any equity built. They had like a cafeteria set up for their apartment dwellers that were paying for meals or anybody on the facility. It was there in the main building. They had a little gift shop, a drug store-type thing, a library, a game activity area, and a beauty shop. The receptionist was very friendly. I didn't see any activities; I saw about eight or ten people who were sitting in chairs waiting for lunch. They were just lined up, getting ready to go into a cafeteria line rather like a nursing home-type situation. It wasn't pleasing to me. They did have a bus that you could sign up for that was going to Walmart or going to the mall or whatever. They had that available to anybody on the premises. They called it a gated community, and it did have gates. But the two times that we were there, none of the gates were locked. It was all open, so maybe at night, they close it.

I was really happy with The Hamptons At Greenridge. One of the nurses that took me around was very friendly and very thorough. She showed me all the different areas of the place and the rooms and everything. The rooms were pretty nice. They've got pretty much everything you need. The living atmosphere seemed very nice, relaxed, and seemed like a very good place. It was also very well maintained.

We went to The Hamptons At Greenridge. The people that we met were lovely, lovely people. They were so courteous and so anxious to show us everything that they could. We enjoyed our visit very much. We went to the assisted living. The person that took us around was most courteous, and very knowledgeable and she answered every question that we had. She seemed to love her job. The place was very clean, and the layout was nice for assisted living. They have a small refrigerator and a microwave in the room. They all have visual access to their lovely courtyard. Many of the guests, who have patios, have bird feeders, special flowers, and potted plants on their patio. The ones who don't have a patio, still outside their windows, will put bird feeders and have some plants out there as well. They covered their bases there. The courtyard is lovely.

My mom and I just loved The Hamptons At Greenridge, and that's where we are taking my dad. It's amazing. I like the support, the knowledge, and the level of care that we need that we now know we're going to get. We took a tour of the entire facility, which included the studio which my dad will be staying at. Everything looked really nice. Of course, they just went through a bad weather spell here, and pretty much everybody in Texas is kinda under chaos, but it looked great. They provide everything. They would load everybody on a bus and take them down to Louisiana, which is pretty amazing, they have fitness going on, and they have arts and crafts, so you name it, I think they have it.

My mom just moved into The Hamptons At Greenridge. I was very impressed with their administration. They are redoing some of their rooms, and they're very nice. Their staff is phenomenal too. The facility is laid out very well and there's good security for memory care patients. It's always clean, and everybody seemed well pleased with the food. During the recent snowstorm they were just amazing. They had staff that stayed there 24/7, and made sure that the residents were taken care of. They did a lot of things early on to make sure that they had extra food and water. They had backup generators as well. They did an exceptionally good job when we couldn't get there because of the snow and ice, and we were not worried about my mom at all because I knew she was being well taken care of.

I went to The Hamptons At Greenridge. I saw a two-bedroom, two-bath. The facility was smaller than the other place we visited, but it's very nice, very bright, and open. The building was nice and very well kept up. The grounds were spotless, beautiful, and decorated for Christmas. It just was smaller overall. There was only one area that I could see in the lobby for people to come and hang out, and then the offices were right there. It was a much smaller environment, which wasn't bad. It's a beautiful place, and that was our second choice. They had a beauty shop and a restaurant, but they told you when to go to lunch. You had to go to lunch between 11:30 and 12:30, and then they only open for dinner from 4:30 to 5:30. That was one thing my dad said he will not do, that he won't be told when to eat. Then, we kind of just stopped looking there, although we did do a price comparison when we got down to the last two choices. The price was pretty comparable, but the square footage of the other place was larger. It's on kind of a land lot, so it's almost like going to a hotel, but I thought the facility was nice. If we could not have paid the deposit at the other place, The Hamptons would have been the option. I would not have a problem at all putting my parents there. Their amenities were equal except for the grounds. The staff was amazing. I love Mandy, and I met her assistant, and they were both sweet to me. The residents were friendly, and the staff was outstanding and answered questions.

We visited The Hamptons at Greenridge in-person. It also had assisted living, and other levels of care. They had food available, and villas with garages. They provided transportation to local grocery stores, and to the doctors. It's a gated community. As far as the villas with garages, there's a waiting list because of a high demand. The staff was topnotch.

I'm moving into The Hamptons At Greenridge. It was convenient to where my husband is living, they have newer, updated facilities, and they have a swimming pool. They have dining services, a salon, they even have a drug store, they have exercise areas, and they take you where you need to go if you don't have your own transportation. It's also a gated community and it's more secure; security is a big issue for me.

I really liked The Hamptons at Greenridge. They were very accommodating. I liked that it was a little larger of a place, and that they weren't as confined as some of the other places. The staff member who showed me around was very informative and showed me everything. It was very clean. The residents seemed very happy. They had activities.

My wife is at The Hamptons at Greenridge. The staff generally is very good. They have nice and very adequate rooms. The facility is very nice and clean. The food is good, and the dining area is very clean and very nice. They clean it up after every meal. They're doing the best they could do. They're helpful, and she's comfortable there.

The Hamptons At Greenridge is an excellent community; everything was really good. They have a full range of levels, and there's hospice in the area, so if somebody needs that they can come to the community and work with them. But when we went there they didn't have any openings. What we liked about their independent living is that they have independent living apartments, but they also have cottages that are clustered in groups of four. It was like a big sea, and the cottages connect to each other by their garages. You have your own little courtyard in the patio area. They have a good range of that, unlike other places that have a lot of residents for memory care and assisted living but only have about ten units for independent living. Their food smelled nice. They offered us a meal, but we declined because of our restricted diet. They could have accomodated us, but we didn't want to bother them.

The Hamptons at Greenridge was a very nice place, it was just a little bit too large for what we were looking for for our mom. The person I talked to was very nice. The dining room was nice and open. We just wanted more of a small community for her to live in.

My mother and my stepfather moved into the assisted living at The Hamptons At Greenridge. They only lived there for about three months. It was excellent. My mother's husband has Alzheimer's and combative. They treated him excellent. However, because he didn't have someone with him, my mother wasn't able to go and do activities. They lived in a 1-bedroom apartment. It had a big bedroom, a big bathroom, and a living room. It didn't have a kitchen but it had a microwave. They brought their food to the room. They had a marvelous dining room. While they're eating, someone played the piano. They had a beauty parlor, a bus that takes them anywhere they want to go, and offered maid and laundry services. The staff members tried to do as much as they could, which is what I like. They were all very friendly. The food was very good. They had bingo and games. The place was nice, clean, and new.

The Hamptons at Greenridge did a very good job in trying to get my husband settled in. They have been very helpful to me and know what to do. I appreciate the staff. I chose them for their helpfulness in getting the information to me and helping me make a decision. They helped me feel like my husband is getting taken care of. I was really pleased with the way they've been really helpful and informative to me.

My wife was a resident of the Hamptons Memory Care unit for 9 months, starting in May of 2010. I discovered them to be understaffed and unequipped to handle people with dementia. When they could not meet my wife's needs they wanted me to pay for a private sitter, and outplaced her to a mental health facility to "get her meds balanced". Mental Health facilities are not equipped to work with people with dementias--they flush them into their general population. What they wanted then was star boarders without behavior issues, and behavior issues are very common with Alzheimer's and other dementias. I was fortunate to get my wife moved to a residential setting where she was loved, cherished, and above all given the level of care she needed. After 6 and a half years of excellent care, she finally died on Thanksgiving day last year. I hope the level of care at the Hamptons has improved since our experience.

My visit at The Hamptons at Greenridge was very positive. It's a beautiful place. The only reason why I did not put my mom there was that their location was not convenient for me, and I felt like I would not go see her as often. The staff was very helpful and professional. They had a beautiful dining area and a really good menu. They had a big list of activities that looked great. The place seemed to be very high end.

I thought The Hamptons focused mostly on apartments. They had a dining room available if you wanted to use it. It was very nice and spacious. It seemed to be quiet, but it was located away from convenient shopping and doctors' offices. You would have to drive or ask someone to drive you there. The facility had its own mini van for transportation.

I went to the Hamptons, and it was a very wonderful facility. The people were very helpful, and they do a lot of activities for their residents. Their level of care seems to be very best. There were several options that you can go like independent cottages. They have people that come in and clean your cottage for you. They also have the assisted living within that community. You can easily move around.

We have three elderly people from my church who are residents at The Hamptons. I visit them there; that's why I am familiar with The Hamptons. One of them has a one bedroom apartment, and he is very happy there. I see the girls come in and give him his medications. The others seem also very happy. The one is still able to drive and go to church. She likes it. I walk through the cafeteria or the dining room, and some of them are playing checkers. They have really nice one-bedroom apartments with a little kitchen area and a refrigerator. They have a van that takes people around.

I’m living in The Hamptons at Greenridge now. They’re very nice and very efficient. The staff has always been very courteous and very helpful. Any time I need anything, they’re willing to help. I have not been able to get out and involve myself in the activities very much, but I do go down and play the card games and the domino games occasionally. The food is very nice; the dining area is very good. I have not had any problems.

The Hamptons at Greenridge was good. The rooms were large and looked out onto a green area. If they want, for $35, they can add a screened-in porch to sit out year-round and not be worried about mosquitoes and insects. The dining room area that I saw was pretty and really nice looking because it was new and very clean. The staff bent over backwards to give me the very best tour possible and answered my questions. Their prices for independent living were probably the lowest of the three that I visited, but for assisted living, they were probably the highest of the three.

Thank you so much for giving us this review! We try very hard to provide a beautiful and affordable atmosphere for all of our residents. Residents have enjoyed the screened-in porches and the views of the East Texas landscape.

My overall experience with Hamptons Retirement Community at Greenridge was good. One of the things we liked about it was they had a large number of cottages, which we were interested in. They had garages and ample room. It was like home. They also had apartments. They did not have meal plans like the other places we visited.
Provider Response
We are so glad you enjoyed your tour of the Hamptons! It is our goal to create an environment that is home-like and provides the same choices you have always enjoyed. This is why our independent living residents can "pay-as-you-go" for the services they want, when they want them. Optional services include meals, transportation, housekeeping and personal assistance. You control your budget and pay only for the services you need. And if needs change, service are convenient and affordable!

My mom's cousin lives at The Hamptons At Greenbridge, and she loves it there. The facility itself was very nice. The apartments were of nice size. She has a 1-bedroom, and it's pretty large. The bathroom is well outfitted for handicapped or elderly people. The staff is courteous and kind. Even though she is blind, she teaches water aerobics. She also does line dancing there. They have a bus that takes them to Walmart or to places that they need to go. They have decent food choices. They have a large outdoor space and people there can go out walking. They also have a good parking lot for the residents that are independent enough to drive and it is located close to your apartment. They have covered parking area which is nice for other people. The facility didn't smell bad, and that's a plus.

The Hamptons had apartments and cottages and I liked the cottage atmosphere. I also liked that right next door, they had a nursing home and a memory care facility and my wife would be needing a memory care facility in the near future. They had activities like card games. I would recommend it to others.
