My mom was in The Heights of Tomball a year ago. I would recommend anybody to go there. My husband and I first visited the facility at 5:00 pm on a Saturday night. The nurses were on task. The CNAs, the orderlies -- everybody there -- they're doing their job, seven days a week. I thought it was wonderful. If I could have kept her there, I would have, but she moved into memory care, and she required more than they were ready for, as far some changes in behavior for which she needed help. The staff is as professional and caring as any I've met, and it was a positive experience all the way around. They serve a very good menu for the residents. There were no private rooms; there were only shared rooms, and that was probably my only complaint, but when you have memory care and can't remember where your room is, it doesn't really matter, as long as your area is good. This facility charged a reasonable rate, but the laundry department took such good care of their clothes, to where the things that weren't on hangers were put back on hangers, and clothes were folded and put back in their drawers. I've never seen any facility before or since that gave that kind of care to their residents.

Some of the nursing staff is great and for those few, we are so thankful! The majority of staff, however, are from a staffing agency and they seem not to care. Staff will leave patients in wet/soiled clothes for hours, even after repeated calls for assistance. We have heard staff bickering amongst one another. They don't seem to have a consistent cook, so the quality of food is inconsistent. There often seems to be too few staff for the number of patients being cared for. There seems to be an overall lack of care and concern for what's in the best interest of each individual patient. This facility has had a good reputation in our community and I'm sad that it is no longer locally owned and operated.

OT is poor, PT is slightly bettering my patient came in from A stroke. She was beginning to move. She was sitting up in a wheelchair in the hospital. Now OT has sentenced her to a life in bed as they refuse to even try to get her up. Very disappointed this place was recommended ! Not by me. The food is always cold. And you have to ask for coffee etc. Anyone who can’t fend for themselves is in trouble at the Heights of Tomball

I visited a relative today. I was shocked to see patients sitting in chairs in the hallway eating food. There was crumbs on the floors. Then I went to my sister’s room. She just got there last night and already the floor had crumbs in several places. Plus the bed control had old food stuck on it. I don’t think the space was deep cleaned before she arrived last night. Staff was friendly but being friendly is only part of it. I did see the dialysis lunch bag and not happy since it contained starchy and sugary items which a diabetic doesn’t need. What really was my concerned was when the nurse said she would put it in the fridge for tomorrow’s trip to dialysis. So the same bag of food that she didn’t eat today will be sent with her tomorrow. Same crusty sandwich and sugary cookies. The lunch tray was food but still not for a diabetic. I did taste the food and it was tasty. I am hoping after she gets accessed she will get the care she needs.

If we decide, we're going to go to The Heights of Tomball. My wife is there now in the rehab hospital, but she's going to require full nursing. Everybody has been very helpful so far, they have a bunch of activities, and I have friends that have been there before. For a while it was hard to get them to answer the telephone.

My mother is a resident here. She called me on the phone today for the first time in months and we talked for awhile. I asked her very honestly how she was doing there. She said she was a little homesick but she said they treat me like a queen. She said she only had a few outfits to wear. Her wardrobe consists of mostly pajamas but she was giggling and happy. She was alert and knew exactly what I was saying to her. She says we're on lockdown here for a while to protect us. I said that's ok right? I said we're on lockdown here in Florida too. We laughed. I realized how much I miss her. She's so cute. She said were like the children here and they are the adults. They tell us what we have to do but they take very good care of us. I love them. While we were talking someone knocked on her door and handed her some coffee and cookies. She said sometimes I take an extra pack of cookies from the snack room and keep them in my dresser drawer. It's been 4 or 5 months that she's been there. She was not happy about going there. She arrived there in diapers and couldn't get up or walk anywhere. Dr.'s said her organs were all failing, she had dementia and her heart was finished, they offered us hospice and said she'd likely pass in the next few days. Now, she's up making phone calls across the country and talking about how good she looks at 97 lbs. and how she wants a new wardrobe! I'm speechless. I give this place at least 5 stars. They're amazing!

My dad was at The Heights of Tomball for about 35 days. It was very nice. It’s a newer facility with larger rooms. Overall, the staff was good, and the rehab department there was excellent. The food seemed to be good. They did have activities there such as games and contests.

I drove by The Heights of Tomball almost every day, and I watched it being built. It was brand new. I thought it was very nice compared to the rest of them. The staff that assisted me was very helpful, very courteous, answered all of my questions, and showed me actual room insides. She showed me some private and semi-private rooms. They were typical nursing home rooms, but they were new, nice, well decorated, and adequate. The cleanliness, the design, and the decor -- everything about it seemed to be nice as far as the facility goes.

My mother-in-law has been in The Heights of Tomball for several months already. This facility is only 2 years old, and it's very nice and new, but they're not responsive. The care is not worth a dime. She would ring her bell 30 to 45 minutes before anybody could come. Every time we've been there, the buzzers are going off nonstop at the front desk. She has had one leg amputated, and she has fallen out of bed six times in two weeks because no one comes when she tries to go to the bathroom or get out of bed herself. They do not respond to your call buttons. With the wound care she has gotten, one girl came in and wrapped it long, the other girl wrapped it a different way, and the doctor came in and said no, this is the way it should be. They can't follow instructions, and we've done it for three days. For over three weeks, we've been trying to get her some help with dealing with it. We're still working on it; it's ridiculous.
