Argent Court Seguin was ok, but the rooms were very small. It was an older place, it didn't seem as clean, and there were not as many options as far as amenities, and things like that, as far as meals, and that sort of thing. The gal that gave me the tour was ok. They have an all-inclusive rate. And then they also have additional services, so I suppose that is nice.

I toured Argent Court Seguin. They were very nice people. The staff was very nice. The rooms were very nice as well. It was a little bit older. It probably needed a little bit of updating, but it was nice. They had large rooms. They had very wide hallways for easy movement around. There were attractive entrances to the rooms. It was very nicely laid out. They need to improve on cleanliness though. They had pull cords in the rooms. However, for a handicapped person, pull cords are more difficult to access than the worn buttons.

My mother-in-law is in Argent Court Seguin. The layout is done very well. It's very clean and the staff is phenomenal with their tenants. They have a menu out every day and if the resident doesn't like it, they have three other choices. The activities are phenomenal. It's probably the best activity director I've ever seen in a facility. She engages with all of the residents and tries to get them all activated in doing things throughout the day. My mother-in-law does exercises every single morning. They have art projects, singing, bingo, side trips, and day trips to the store. I have never seen a staff more compassionate toward the people they're working for. I've never heard someone get frustrated or irritated at a single resident. I have never heard a harsh word ever or a bad action ever toward any resident. They have meals and they tend to be as balanced as you can get. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The only thing that I would like them to be a little bit more aware of is diabetic diets. Other than that, they're pretty good with getting all the residents down there to eat. If the residents don't want to eat down there, they'll take it to their room, but it's a $2 cost to do that. The rent starts at $3,000 and for them to do medications it's $300 a month, while laundry, to get them up and get them dressed or to go down to the dining room is $300 more.

I toured Argent Court Seguin. They have very friendly staff, the residents seemed to be happy, and very accommodated. I saw one of the units; it's setup very well, and overall it really looks a lot like a homey place that would be comfortable. The lady who took me around was very knowledgeable, and she seemed to have a pretty good understanding of what the program is there. She was friendly and had a lot of time for me. The resident that I spoke to said that the food is really good. I saw the menu and it looked very nice. It's a very welcoming community.

We went over to Argent Court after I went to a doctor’s appointment, and we were pretty much ignored. We caught them at a bad time. Everybody was busy and had something to do. Most of the people were much older than I am. I’m in my 60s, and the only reason I was looking for an assisted living type of thing is because I’ve had three strokes and have not been able to do much on my own. It’s a beautiful place. The people weren’t attentive enough for me, and I can understand that they had something else to do. It just didn’t sit right with me. The main reason I think that I felt uncomfortable was because people were older than me. I just didn’t feel like I could fit in.
Provider Response
There are two types of assisted living licenses in Texas - an A or B. A type A typically houses more higher functioning residents. Usually if you’re under the age of 80, and not wanting or needing the additional services of a type B, you would probably be more comfortable in a type A. Yes, our facility is busy taking care of our residents and if you need time that is devoted just to you, we would recommend you make an appointment. I'm sorry if you felt you were being ignored. That is never our intention.

We really liked the Argent Court. This was probably the best one for us. It is also the most affordable. The people were very polite, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very professional. The rooms were very well maintained and very well kept. The dining area was very nice.

My in -laws were residents here for several years! They absolutely loved it. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They were second to none. They even attended my mother-in-laws funeral when she passed away. They have a nurse on staff who was great and was always on top of any issues that arose. My mother-in-law was a cafeteria manager for 25 years at a local school and she always spoke highly of the food. One thing I found very unique among senior communities was the fact that there was very little turnover in staff which gave my parents and myself a lot of peace of mind. I cannot say enough good things about this facility.
