We Just moved my uncle to The Lodge. The setting is retreat like with duplex cottages built around the pond sheltered by huge oaks. Peaceful and quiet, yet two blocks from HEB. He has a screen in porch that looks onto the pond. His bedroom window views the pond. The cottage is ADA compatible with a roomy bathroom and roll in shower. Appliances come with it and the internet is high quality. The staff were the best to work with. They bring his meals to his cottage 3 times a day and make his bed. He has the privacy that is important to him and attentive staff to help when he needs it. He is very pleased.

I toured The Lodge at Leon Springs. I was a little disappointed because we had scheduled an appointment, and she said, "Oh, I'm sorry, we don't have anything to show you at this time." They could have called me and not wasted my time. I was not able to see inside the cottages, and I was not offered a meal. There was also an assisted living building there, but they did not show me the assisted living building. They just showed me the independent living. There were small cottages on the campus. The upkeep seemed good, but the driveway around the facility was blacktop, not a concrete paved. There were dips, and it wasn't a flat surface. It concerned me that if my dad would walk, it would be a potential for him to trip since it was not flat. The staff who gave the tour was friendly, but I feel like she wasn't really prepared. I set up to see the facilities, but all we did was just walk around the black top area. I was not shown the assisted living portion. They have little duplexes, and I was not able to go into any of those. I just went into the administration building. She was pleasant, but she didn't show me a lot. The tour wasn't awful, but it wasn't great.

The Lodge at Leon Springs has a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. They have a lot of animals there. It's very serene and calm, but there's not enough activity for me. It's a wonderful place for someone that wants quiet and just a little bit of a community. The staff had done her best under the circumstances. They didn't even know I was coming, and they knew nothing about me, so they were caught short. They weren't expecting anyone, so, therefore, they didn't have the person that should have been doing the tour, which I think, is the whole problem, but she did her best. They didn't have any openings and so there was one lady there, she was 97, and she let us in to look at her place. It's very cute. They're all cottages. I think there are about 25 cottages or something. And they have all kinds of animals. They have goats and geese, which is cute, except I don't want to ever be on a farm, and I have no desire to be on a farm. It's very serene and very pretty. It's an older home and it's mostly older people in their 80s and above. It osbviously must be very likable because many people have lived there for seven and eight years, so that's very good. I haven't tried their food, but I have a feeling that it's not great. What they do with their food, and this is what I mean about there wasn't enough community for me, is that they deliver their breakfast, lunch, and dinner at their door. They have a dining area, but it's not a new place at all, and it's older.

I did a tour of The Lodge at Leon Springs. It's a much smaller facility than the other two that I visited. They have a beautiful property, but I was not as happy with them as I was with the other two places that I saw. The staff showed me a one-bedroom apartment. It was more like a duplex-type living arrangement, which was nice. Everything was in good repair. I felt like it was a little small. I did not see any of their extra facilities, because they have chosen to be on a lockdown because of the rise in COVID cases. The only thing I saw was the specific apartment that she would be living in. It was maintained; I feel like it was a little small for what I'm looking for, but everything was in good repair. They have a pond in the middle of their property that has ducks in it, and that was nice. They have a walking trail around the facility; I saw people walking. They weren't giving tours, so that was the only place that I could see. The lady, who is their sales director, was very nice and very informative, and she answered all my questions. I would rate the apartment a "four."

I toured the independent living at The Lodge at Leon Springs and it was excellent. The staff was very informative and very welcoming. The person who ordinarily gives the tour was on vacation. However, two other individuals in the office stepped up immediately, welcoming me, providing me the opportunity to tour one of their homes, one of the duplexes, the cabins, and walked the grounds with us. They explained the benefits, including 3 meals a day provided and contact of 3 times a day with the residents in each one of the facilities, in each one of the homes so that I would feel like my mom was checked on. It's very comforting. It's a beautiful, beautiful setting, I would live there myself. The lodges I saw were spacious and each one has a screen porch. They were new and fresh. They have beautiful grounds. They included new appliances, stainless steel appliances, including a washer and dryer. They were duplex buildings so you had a neighbor, but you didn't feel like you were crowded up. There was a place where people could walk and get outdoors and just enjoy nature. They even had a spring-fed pond or a small lake there, and at that site, they have catch-and-release fishing for residents and visitors. It's easy to access interstate 10 and I believe they also have a bus where they have trips to different locations. It was all outstanding. It's a perfect independent living setting. Residents might even bring their own cars if they're still driving. They had individuals there who chose to live there not because of health needs, but because of the beauty of the location and the services provided.

There are no words that can expense the sense of tranquility that immediately engulf you upon driving onto this property. The Lodge at Leon Springs is quite the getaway. This seems like the kind of place people go to escape reality. They have a beautiful small lake in the middle of the property with custom cottages surrounding it. Everyone here makes you feel at home.. from the owner to the maintenance staff, the nurses to the business office, I sense true commitment and passion for what they do. I would love to live here some day!

The Lodge at Leon Springs was very nice and homey. The staff members were very nice and I loved the cottages. I loved the rooms, I thought they were very nice, and they had roomy closets. They have a Friday night social that everybody goes to, and they also have weekly trips to Walmart and other places. They have a library and an office that people can come to. Just walking on the grounds itself is very nice; they have a little duck pond with fish in it. They also serve meals in your own cottage three times a day, so they have eyes on everybody. A lot of the residents do volunteer work, and they can go around since its independent living. They also have assisted living when you need it. I like that they check on you to make sure you're OK, but they let you do stuff on your own. The cottages have a refrigerator inside the kitchen and a washer and dryer.

My sister's church is right next door to the Lodge at Leon Springs, and she told me about them. The staff was very informative. We took a tour of the facility, and everything was pleasant. The little bitty houses looked very nice and very well-kept, and the grounds were very nice. We had lunch there, and the food was alright. They have bingo, sing-along's, and stuff like that. The security and the safety were adequate as far as I could see. I liked it, and I didn't see anything wrong about it.

We visited The Lodge, and my mother is just going to start going there. They're very friendly, very social, and it feels like home. The rooms are unique and good-sized. Very clean. I like that it's more active and people aren't just sitting around on couches and in wheelchairs. The employees are motivated and social.
