My mother was a resident at The Meadows for nearly four years. The only reason she left was to be closer to family as her needs in care increased. Her time there was wonderful in every respect. Her room was spacious and had a nice outdoor patio area shaded by mature landscaping. The staff was incredible! Very caring people. Long time staff members truly care about the residents. The activities directory works hard to provide fun and creative events that brings the residents together. Mom enjoyed the exercise classes, the social activities, the dining and the community of fellow residents. She also enjoyed the relaxed, casual atmosphere of the facility. It's not fancy, but it's very clean and well maintained.

We went to Morningside at the Meadows. They were very good and very well taken care of, and the people we talked to from outside wandering around seemed to be friendly. The people we met there, the garden facilities and stuff outside looked very nice. Coming inside is like the TV place and stuff like that. They're nice. They've got everything you could want and talking to the people there, they enjoyed what they have, they enjoyed living there. So that counts. I mean, a person who's been there for a while, the initial burst of, hey, this is great, and then having to put up with daily living, you begin to shift a little bit. You may say, "I don't like this or I don't like that" but that type of thing didn't come out, they enjoyed living there. In certain places the outside was nice. They had the inside, where you want to sit down and talk to people or friends inside and it was good.

My friend and I went to Morningside Ministries at the Meadows. We looked at the independent living, and the people there were out and about and very friendly. We saw a menu. We did not stay for a meal, but it looked good, and everybody said "Oh, the food is excellent here." The apartments themselves were a bit smaller, but very well maintained, and there were full kitchens. We only met a couple of the staff, and they're very friendly. The one gal was retiring the next day. It had a more friendly feel to it and more family-like feel to it. I was very impressed with the person who took us around. He showed us a 1-bedroom and a 2-bedroom. It was very well kept, and they were remodelling the apartments as they became empty. The facility itself was very clean.

We're settled at the Morningside Ministries at The Meadows. It's multi-leveled care, and we're in the independent living. It's a very nice facility, and the food is wonderful. We're pleased with our two-bed/two-bath apartment, which is exactly what we needed. We're just very pleased with our general situation. We have book groups, movies, and trips into and out of town. The staff is very cordial and caring. Everybody's very friendly, and they don’t have trouble remembering our names.

Morningside Ministries is not as upscale as other facilities. The staff seemed very nice, but I don't expect anything nasty on a guided tour. They're there to sell you the place. The rooms were quite adequate. They're not as fancy, but they were more than adequate in size and in their physical layout. Considering the price, I was very well impressed with them because they were not as expensive as other ones. They had transportation, they had trips planned, they go to shopping trips, entertainment trips, and have games within the facility. They did have things planned for the people there. What I like best about them is the value you get for your money. They weren't as luxurious as some, but they also didn't cost as much. They were very nice. The dining facility was very impressive. Whether they gave us a special meal or not, I don't know. But they said no, that's a normal meal. And it was very nice.
