I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I stayed in The Grandview of Westover Hills, it was excellent. I had to leave because I got sick and needed more care. The community felt just like staying at home. The staff was excellent and I had a very nice apartment. The maintenance and upkeep were very good, they cleaned my apartment and gave me three meals a day, which was excellent. We played bingo, we had parties for birthdays, we had other activities and movies. We planted plants outside, we had barbecues and other activities on the patio out front including an Easter hunt. The staff was very, very good and the food was good. If we didn't like what was being served that day, we can order something else and they'll bring it to us. It's good value for the money because it's not as expensive as other places. When you pay the rent, that already includes them cleaning your apartment, doing your laundry, and feeding yourself. I would move back if I was able to.

I visited this facility

Grandview of Westover Hills was nice. The people were professional, and I think it's the best place. They had different kinds of rooms or apartments and the one I chose for my husband was a bedroom, a living room, and a little kitchenette. They feed you three meals a day and snacks. It was a clean place. The people seemed happy there. They have dining rooms and they group four or five people at each table. It looked homey, and I liked it. If I were going to have to stay somewhere, I would be happy there. Carol who I talk to and I have been discussing this with is so understanding, such a nice person, and she cares. It seems like they care.

We have chosen the Grandview of Westover Hills. The facility is newer. The rooms are spacious. The people are very friendly and very helpful. It's just a wonderful place, and I'm looking forward to my mother going there and having a better time with her life. There's a lot of activities, there are three meals a day, and the food is really good. So if you can piece all that together, that'd be great. The staff were more than just a little helpful; they're fantastic. I have tried the meal, too. The place is very clean. I just fell in love with it.

The employees turnaround is like a revolving door. Within six months they had three different head nurses and three directors and too many residents assistants that came and left. The theater is nice however 80% of the time they couldn’t get the projector to work. They give each resident a call button to wear around their neck to use whenever they need assistance, the resident assistance has 20 minutes to respond, but unfortunately they take much longer to respond. The billing doesn’t itemized and we didn’t see a bill for 4 months.

We toured Grandview of Westover Hills which is a very pretty place. I like everything, it's just that the price is a little bit higher than the other two places we've seen. The place is fantastic, they have everything. They have a beautiful garden, they have a theater inside the facility, they have a pool table to play with, and several things. They have two different gardens that are very well kept. The old people in there, you could tell that they're happy, all of them. They even have somebody that goes there every other week to do their hair. They have a lot of facilities there.

I visited this facility

Grandview of Westover Hills was really beautiful, and I would want to live there. The decor was lovely, but it was so desolate. I didn't see any seniors when we walked in. It was huge, but it was like a ghost town. They had activities on the memory care side. It was really far for us. They had a movie theater, and it was so pretty. I didn't see any of the residents interacting. It was too far away, it was more expensive than other places, and my mother-in-law would be isolated. The staff member who helped us with the tour was nice and kind.

I Would Not recommend this facility. One caregiver at night plus one med tech. Two caregivers on morning & afternoon shifts w med techs. Assisted Living here means Assisted Living. No special cut up meals, no wheelchair transport. You feed / move Yourself. Watch the billing. No itemizing

I was not impressed with Lakeside Assisted Living & Memory Care. It had a locked door, and I had to ring the doorbell. A young man assisted me with the tour but he didn't appear to be knowledgeable and couldn't give me all the details. He got my number and said he will call me with the answers to my questions, but I never got a call back. I did not really like the ward for the patients with dementia because it smelled.

Lakeside was the closest one for my mother-in-law. We like the price. It had a home-feel to it. There were more places to sit down. We like the facility, but they didn't have an opening.
