My Mom has been here twice, and I cannot emphasize enough what a spectacular physical rehabilitation they represent. The hospital suggested another facility. They had a 5 star hotel lobby, but horrible, horrible care, if you can call it that We found out about Life Care and are SO BLESSED that we did. Unfortunately my Mom had to return a year later due to other health problems. When we knew that my Mom would have to go again, there was no question we would return to Lifecare. I highly recommend LifeCare unequivocally.

If you truly dislike your relative this is the place to take them. First night my mother was in the facility for rehab after major surgery she rang the call bell for help for an hour. She finally got herself out of bed to go to the bathroom and a roach was crawling on the floor. She also has a dietary restriction of no pork. They brought her pork every day. Even one day very happy because they did not bring her smothered pork chops but brought her a ham sandwich instead. She was told on 7-30-24 that she would be discharged that day. 4 times she asked for discharge paperwork, at home plan and medication. Repeatedly she was told don't worry someone would come by her room. No one ever did. She was able to pack her bag an walk out no one said anything. Not sure if they even know she is gone.

PT and speech therapy are good. For every 1 good nurse you get 3 bad. Same with techs. Flies everywhere, a nice Dr from Medical City who rounds there helped me swat flies. I have photos. If you have to take a loved one here, be vigilant.

"A BIG "F -" RATING First and foremost, allow me to say that I’m sorry for the delay in doing this. I was mentally and physically drained not so much from my mothers’ condition, but more so the uncaring and unprofessional attitude from (Director of Nursing) and most of his nurses. My mother just turned 90 years old when she fell and broke her hip, she also has dementia along with being hard of hearing. So, I knew that with this condition of hers, it would be very interesting and that I would have to be a translator for her. For this reason, is why I choose to stay with her all day, every day, and even overnight a couple of times. One of her biggest medical issues, at times she makes squeaky noise. The Dr.’s and nurses would think she’s in pain but wasn’t. Prior to her release from the hospital, I was given a list of Nursing/Rehab centers for her. After Googling each one for rating and looking at the reviews, I had picked “Life Care Center of Plano”. They had the best likes and rating, and the best of all, no covid cases. After arriving and entering, my gut feeling, told me that I made a mistake. After a couple of days, I was starting to feel better. Without making this a long-drawn-out letter from here, I’ll give the major heartburn issues that I have, and for the reason I give them F- I’ll start with my mother, with having dementia, and her broken hip, couldn’t understand why she had to stay in bed, nor why she couldn’t go to the bathroom. I came in one morning and found her on the floor, and after notifying the nurse they had called the rescue squad, and they had taken her to the hospital. After returning, they had moved her to a room next to the nurse’s station and put floor pads on both sides of her bed. After a short time, I would find them rolled up and in a corner. I could hear the patience call button, at the nurse station, and it would ring and ring, for an extended period of time. I would look time to time, out my mother’s door, only to see it was the same light with people standing in and around the nurse’s station. The same would happen with my mother, an extended time would lapse before a person would arrive. On two particular occasions my mother had to go to the bathroom, the first time she had to wait and messed in her depends. A physical therapist (PT) came into her room to take her for physical therapy. I had enlightened her of my mothers needs and how long we have been waiting, she left and came back with, Director of Physical Therapy. I explain to her what was going on and she had gone and got, Director of Nursing (DoN). He had told me, he could not understand why it had taken so long and that it won’t happen again. Well, so much for “not happening again”. This time I had told a nurse that my mother needed a major cleaning, her reply, “I’ll fine a person”. After waiting over an hour, I had gone to the receptionist, and told her that I would like to talk with (DoN) boss. I was told that he wasn’t in, and she ask me what’s wrong. At first, I wasn’t going to say anything, so reluctantly I told her what was going on. The receptionist suggested that I talk with (DoN). I had mention to her that I had earlier with the same issues, and now I need to elevate it. I was told his boss, is named J also I was able to get with, (DoN), and told him that I would like to have a meeting with him and his boss. He had asked me what’s wrong, I told him, I’m not going to repeat myself, so with all of us there, I won’t need to. Later that same Friday afternoon, a nurse came into the room and inform me that He had left for the weekend to be with his family. I gave the nurse a nice warm smile with anger coming out of my eyes, and told her thanks, and hoping that she has a great weekend. I was thinking, come Monday morning the they would come in and we could have a talk, will so much for that idea. Mid Monday afternoon I had taken the initiative in letting the receptionist know that I wanted a meeting with the them now! A short time later, they had shown up in my mother’s room, and we decided to go to (DON) office. Not long after airing my issues, I had notice one of them, acting like he has missed his “T” time. At that time, I had decided to redirect my concerns on getting my mother out of this place. A very short time later, that was done. I do fully understand why for the most part, the staff have a “I DON’T CARE ATTITUTE”, if my boss doesn’t lead by example, WHY SHOULD I CARE. In closing, I do recommend that the John’s, take lessons from, Director of Physical Therapy. I give Julie and her staff, A+. Thank you, Julie. Ken, A NEVER be back again, person."

I have been in 4 separate places for rehab and by far, by far, this is the best one I have ever been in. Every single therapist is great, caring, and very responsive. The nursing staff are polite and helpful. I’ve never had such good care.

On behalf of my brother and myself, we can't thank you enough for all you have done for our stepfather since he came to Life Care Center of Plano. Since the families of patients have not been permitted to be with family has been totally overwhelming. But we have felt total calmness in knowing he was getting the very best help and care from you and all your employees. Cynthia and Peggy Sue have had to talk to me more times than I am sure any patient at LCC and I am so grateful for their servant hearts and gentleness. I can be a little testy sometimes but they knew how to calm my nerves. Julie and Judy all I can say is THANK YOU both for all you have done. May blessings to you all.

Should have never taken my mom there for rehab. Had to tell staff several times the leave her door and blinds open. Did not care for the staff. Some were hateful to my mom. Food not that good. Coming down the hall smelt like urine, disgusting. My mom said she would have to wait just for help to the bathroom. The sad part there was a woman in a chair that reclined and would be in different halls asleep. Wonder if her family new that. Broke my heart.

It was a great experience considering the reason I was there. The whole staff were so helpful and always had a smile and a good word. Nurses and Therapists were so knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Thank you all. I have recommended your care to anyone who asked me about my weeks in Rehab.

I was unable to leave my bed, stand or walk when I arrived from the hospital. Thanks to the outstanding therapy team, I can now walk significant distances with my walker. I am extremely appreciative of their superb personalities as well as their skills and professionalism.

Thanks to the recommendation of my close personal friend, my brother is comfortably settled at Life Care of Plano. My brother is blind, very hard of hearing and requires special care. They assured me that the new management of Life Care was dedicated to providing the best of care. We are especially grateful for the guidance and help of Julie, Randy, Patti and Judy. Also my brother praises Matilda and Darrell.

God places us where we need to be and for me it was to be a resident at Life Care Center of Plano. The staff is professional, courteous, caring and compassionate. I have met some wonderful people that have been my angels and have touched me deep in my heart.

My mother has been in Life Care Center for past 90 days. She arrived, unable to walk, stand, or get out of bed. Now after much help, she can get out of bed, dress and feed herself, plus walk short distances. She has high respect for employees taking care of her, for their respect and concern for her well being, but especially thankful for the rewards she received from the skills of the trained rehabilitation team. Depressed and unhappy upon arrival, now she almost hates to leave the Center, leaving the many employees she has made friends. My Mother, and I both give the highest regards and appreciation to the great care the staff provides.

My mother was discharged from medical center of plano to life care of plano. The staff was great. Majority of the nurses have been at the facility for at least 5 to 15 years. They are caring. The director actually stopped by and helped my mom to the bathroom. Everyone seemed happy.

My young mother (59) broke her hip & needed full time care while I worked. She was transferred here by 11am from the hospital. At 6pm, the front doors were supposed to be locked. They were not. My mom sat in her room from 11am & by the time I got there at 7pm, no one had come to discuss her registration, medicines, daily schedule, etc. When I arrived, we pressed the nurses button & it took more than 30mins to respond! She has a broken hip! She can't walk alone, or shouldn't be! She is a fall risk! This place is mostly foreign speaking employees who are difficult to understand their English. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PLACING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!

Found the staff to be uncaring and overworked. My dad was there for one week and then went into the hospital. At life care doctors orders were ignored or neglected. Would never take my dad back there.

Life Care Center of Plano makes a good presentation but has follow through. LCC was supported to pick my mother up from the hospital after her surgery. After waiting all day at the hospital after discharge. They never showed up. We had to take my mother to their facility ourselves. By the time she arrived, she was exhausted and upset. Did they do anything to make her feel better about the situation. Not at all - they were unfriendly, demanding and made her feel that her security was at issue. Needless to say, she didn't stay.

Life Care Center of Plano was like a step down facility from the hospital. The care they provided to my father-in-law was very poor. They were supposed to wash his clothes once a week but when we went out there, he was out of clean clothes. Also, the bandage on the sore on his foot also needed to be changed everyday but the wound specialist who came every three days saw that it was not changed.

Life Care of Plano has a good rating and a good reputation. It is near my house and near my brother's work, too. The facility is clean and they're doing an exceptional job. The staff is very attentive, and most of them have been there for more than five years so they have a high retention rate. My mother's been in there for two weeks now.

My mother has stayed at this facility 2 different times and both experiences were top-notch. The staff was professional and personable and my mother felt well taken care of. If only Medicare would have allowed her to stay longer. Now we are looking for a nursing home and I just wish she could be back at Life Care!
