I'm living in a 55+ community right now. We're just looking for a cheaper place because we're paying $2,000 a month and my husband just lost his job, so when our lease is up we're going to be looking for something a little less expensive. The community is called The Fordham at Baywood in Pasadena and it's like market rates here. It's a very nice, quiet community. They have a swimming pool, a fitness center, a little business center, and a club house. Before the COVID pandemic they were doing some activities, but they haven't done any since then. Everything shut down. The staff is very friendly, they try their best, but they can only do what the management company will allow them to do. They try their very best to keep everything updated, they give out information as the management company gives out information. I have a problem with the management company itself, but I think you probably find that almost anywhere. The facility is very nice. The appliances in the apartment are not really great, they're on the lower end. The apartments themselves are very nice, they're really spacious. The grounds are kept clean. I was not really thrilled with their activities when they were having them.

I toured Fordham At Baywood. It's close to me. I like the location. It's brand new. The room is completely set up. They have their own washer-dryer and stainless steel appliances. They even have one unit that didn't have carpet, which is a good thing, especially if you're using a wheelchair. Everything is nice setup. There are a lot of people there who are not only residents, but their kids who are over the age of 55 can be residents there, too. The staff who gave the tour was informative, very cooperative, supportive, and knowledgeable. They're able to give a lot of information.
