My brother stayed at Focused Care at Pasadena. I was going to pick him up because we were going to go look at another facility, but when I went to see him there, he was sick. It turned out he had COVID pneumonia. The place was clean, and he liked the physical therapy people. The only complaint I have, and I guess it's a serious complaint, was that they didn't pick up on him getting sick. I flew in and went in that day to pick up his keys to his place, and he was just gurgling and kind of out of it. I started trying to get their attention to look at him; one person said, "I thought that I told the doctor, and I thought it was kind of strange he didn't do anything." That was the only thing I had. The people were friendly, and I liked them, and my brother liked the place. He went back there even after the COVID. I just felt like they kind of weren't serious about his condition at that time. It was very clean, and it smells good. I had a friendly feeling about it, like when you went in, people were friendly to you. Overall, I like the people I've worked with, and some of the social workers were very helpful. The physical therapy people seem very involved in coming by and doing the physical therapy. I even got to know the administrator a little bit. She was very involved and talked to me about my brother. Overall, I liked the staff. I just felt like that might have been an unusual situation that happened. They might have been shorthanded, but I didn't think they should let them go that long without doing something. The staff were friendly, and they were involved with keeping you informed and professional. Twice, I was there, and they had a musician playing in the dining area. They play bingo. They have kind of little parties, during the holidays, and did things like Halloween.

My husband is at Focused Care at Pasadena. They have a very nice facility. It's updated, modern, and comfortable as far as the lobby. The rooms are nice. There's one bathroom per room, so they're only two people sharing it. Some of the staff are friendly but some are not. They do not have a barber or person to cut hair, and they don't seem to offer much in the way of therapy. There are activities provided, and that is good. They have special events where they celebrate people's birthdays and the holidays. They have different-themed activities sometimes. They do a lot of activities. The food is terrible. I have tasted their food, and it's not great. Also, their medicine is not taken on time. Some of the med techs are rude, and they don't seem to respect any of the patients. I don't think you get the value of what you're paying for here.

My wife's aunt did rehab at Paramount Healthcare Co. It was great and it was really good for her. It was clean and didn't have a smell. The staff was really great. She was happy the whole time she was there. She would watch TV there and she got therapy every day. It was a really a nice place.

My mother stayed at Paramount Senior Care Centers at Pasadena. The administration was rude and couldn't care less about it. It's like you have to pull teeth to get someone to clean a person up. The food was OK. They had activities, but she couldn't get out of bed. The dining setup was big and looked clean. The food was adequate. The staff didn't care and just did what they had to do. The cleanliness could have been better, the walls could have been painted, and the carpet could have been cleaned.

My mother was treated horribly. She was always scared. She was NOT always fed. Full shifts would pass without anyone even checking on her. I pulled her from this place in less than a week, then they have refused to send us the full refund they promised. Believe nothing they say. If you do admit, check closely and often. Be very wary.

My mother is in this place and she has never seen a doctor she has a very bad diaper rash worse one I have ever seen. the food she is suppose to get is hardly ever right and she is not suppose to be left unattended while in the bathroom and is always left unattended she has also fell ( times. when you complain all they say is we will write it down in her chart but nothing ever gets done. oh and also she only gets a bath twice a week if she is lucky. all this place is worried about is the appearance not the patients.

My husband's grandmother resided at this facility for a year and a half. When we visited my husband's grandmother she seemed to be content and I was given no reason to think otherwise. Being a very vocal woman, if she had a problem we would be sure to know about it. The staff was mostly courteous. There was an occasional snippy nurse now and then but it wasn't commonplace. Her room was kept clean as were the common areas. She had several attendants that, while I was there, treated her very well without being condescending or making her feel like a child. My only real complaints were the lack of activities and it felt, sometimes, too sterile, like a hospital. They do have activities there, just not a large variety. The CNA's were very helpful to her and the food was alright. She never had any complaints about it. I would recommend this facility if need be.
