My mother was at Edgewood Rehabilitation And Care Center for 21 days. The care was very good. They did all they could for my mother and were very helpful. The interaction with the staff was excellent. My mother's room had two beds, but she was the only one in the room at the time. They had sections of the building for recreation and socialization. They also had an exercise room where they had a variety of equipment. They would take my mother to these rooms, give her socialization, and work on getting her to walk again.

My wife spent some time at Edgewood Rehabilitation & Care Center. It was very nice and very comfortable. The people there were very friendly. Our first day was in the spring and they had like a high school prom. They had dresses for the ladies to wear and tuxedos or suits for men to wear. It was very nice. I think the staff were very conscientious. The rehab part was very good. They had board games and puzzles. At least once a month, they had a karaoke night. They seemed to have enough stuff to break up the monotony especially if you're a long-term care patient. Even the rehab, was a nice change other than just doing your rehab, going back to your room, and sitting in your room for the next 23 hours, so it was a nice break. The food was good, too. The staff were knowledgeable and seemed very interested.

My husband was in rehab at Edgewood Rehabilitation and Care Center two years ago. It was a nice and clean place. The staff was very nice and the administration was very nice, but they were very short-handed. He was in there for physical therapy and he was on a no-fall. When I got there, he was missing from his room. He was supposed to have assistance anytime he went to the restroom, but he was able to get out of bed and out of his room. His room was 109, and he was over in 106 and looking at another lady's pretty things and with dementia, he was just confused and didn't know where he was. When I contacted the front desk and asked where is my husband, the staff said, "He's in his room," and my husband isn't. He said, "Did you check the closet, did you check the bathroom?" I said, of course I did. I said he has no reason to be in a closet, but we found him across the hall. We got him back to his room, but all the time, the nurse was yelling at him for being in a woman's room, that he had no business there. I just turned to her, I said, "First of all, he's hearing impaired 85% of the time, and secondly, he doesn't know what you're even talking about, he has dementia," and I said yelling at him does not help anybody. He was only in there for 10 days, so it was tolerable, but it's not a place I would take him again. He was on a salt-free diet at the time. I couldn't give a very good score to the nursing staff, but the administration was good. It's a beautiful place and it's very nice. If I were paying for it, I would only give them a 2/5 for the value for money. They had a lot of activities, but he didn't want to go to any of them, so I don't know what they were like.
