My mom was a resident at Wilshire. It was a beautiful place. The staff members were wonderful. They catered to the residents. The administrator and activities director were wonderful. Mother always complained about the food, it was institutional like any other, but it's good quality food. We highly recommend Wilshire to anybody because they were great.

Wilshire Place was nice, but the hallways were so narrow, and had low ceilings. It was all by itself with nothing around it. The apartments were very dark, there's no overhead lighting, except in the kitchen, and between the bedroom and bathroom. They have an exercise room, a dedicated space with large screen TV, library, beauty shop, and an atrium as main visiting area.

The people at Wilshire Place seemed really nice and were right there when I walked through the door. Everybody seemed very happy. It's a nice place. The elderly people seemed really happy. The grounds were nice, but the parking lot was small and really crowded while trying to get in and out without getting hit. I didn't like that.

Wilshire Place Senior Living is a privately owned assisted living, and things so far have gone really well. My mother has a one-bedroom apartment. It is a fairly new place -- only four years old -- so it's nice and clean, and everyone there seems to like it. The food is fine. They have a lot of activities. They have one of the owners working there, so the owners know what's going on. It is driven more by what the residents want and need more so than by what the corporation wants. They seem to have more staff working around the clock to handle everybody. They've got something going on everyday; something in the morning, and something in the afternoon. They take them shopping twice a week if they want to go. They take them to see the Christmas lights if they want to do that. They have a lot of people come in and sing especially this last month with Christmas carols. They invite families to come over for Christmas, and they did for Thanksgiving.
