I had exceptional therapists that were knowledgeable, patient, thorough, helpful, and altogether the best therapists I've ever had. My physical therapist was Lorena. My OTs were Sergio, Susan, and Rhonda. I owe them so much now that I can move and walk again!

My parents have moved into Carillon Senior Living. It is a three-tiered organization, so you have independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. They're very nice. They invest a lot in making it safe for elderly residents. The staff is very good, very, very friendly, and my parents like everyone that they've met. My parents are also very complimentary about the food and the dining areas, and they go there every day. They have onsite physical therapy, onsite water therapy, and two onsite physicians, and I think that is very, very useful to the staff. So the onsite health care and rehab facilities are really good. So they will either come to you in-home or you can go to a rehab center that's there on their onsite run by Carillon.

Rooms are nice, cleaned often, but not vacuumed well. Activities are good for residents who are mobile. Interactions with most staff are great. Some aides don’t seem to like residents.

My dad has pretty severe dementia and has lived at the Carillon for one year now. We have been nothing but happy with his new home. My favorite part of Carillon is the staff. His nurses are amazing. They are so easy to talk to and willing to help anytime if I or my dad needs something. The grounds are beautiful. The director and his assistant are wonderful. Everyone at Carillon seems to have a passion for helping people. My dad loves his apartment here.

My mom has been very blessed with such caring staff, and a lovely spacious room. My mom is not very social but some of the staff have continuously encouraged her to come out for coffee, movies, and meals! Mission accomplished!

Carillon Senior Living was very nice but there's no way I could afford it. It had been there a long time, but it had been remodeled. I didn't feel it was right for me, but it was a very nice place. It was an excellent facility. And the guy that showed me around did a really good job. He took me everywhere and showed me everything. It's a very safe place. There are cinder block walls between all of the apartments, which is nice. If there's a fire that got started at someplace, it wouldn't spread, so that's a good thing. It's multistory which I didn't care for. The rooms were nice. Not big, but nice. They have the basics of appliances. They invited me to come and eat lunch with them. They were very nice. The guy was excellent. They did an excellent job. It was a nice building. I wouldn't want to live there, but it was a very impressive place. It was excellent.

The facilities at Carillon Senior Living were nice. We went to one of the restaurants and had tacos. They have several different options on their menu. The facility was beautiful. It's beautifully decorated inside. It's very, very nice. They have an indoor pool, which was also nice, but the only thing was it was extremely expensive. I didn't see much staff besides the person that toured us, and he was like the business end of it, talking to us about all the different numbers, but he was very polite and very knowledgeable.

My wife has been at Carillon Senior Living three times and I've been there once in the rehab center. All the times that we've been there, the staff was wonderful. We received therapy and then nursing services because I couldn't walk, while my wife had had a stroke. We had rehab and I was in and out in two weeks. Before COVID, the food and everything was excellent. I would always try to get there at lunchtime so that I could get to order a meal and eat with my wife. It was really good. I really enjoyed it, but after COVID and during COVID, the prep of the food service changed and they did not go back to the old way of preparing meals and serving. The food was tolerable. Not something that you'd want to eat every day, though. All the rooms were private. The rooms had a TV and a closet. All the rooms that I was in, had a window with a window seat. They were always clean. They had a laundry facility. If you label your clothing, they would do the laundry for you. They had a common area to watch TV or listen to music, and that's all programmed. They control it. They don't just turn the TV on and let you watch what you want, but then again, you have your own TV in your room where you could watch whatever you want. They offer transportation as well.

Carillon Senior Living was outstanding, but it was a little dated. The apartments were nice, and they had different floor plans and different sizes. We looked at the 2-bedroom apartment and you got the option of picking your paint and your carpet, which was nice. The main building was originally a dormitory for a college which they've redone and kind of opened up, but the hallways and the elevators were still small. There's not as much openness in the community areas. The staff who assisted us was nice and pleasant, but the whole idea of dragging us around for three and a half hours with a sales pitch before telling us what the cost is, was crazy.

My husband moved into Carillon Senior Living. The care he is receiving is very good. They are all a bunch of caring people. They do their job well. The physical appearance of the community and my husband's room are very nice. The food is excellent. The facility is very clean. They have very good rehab. They are expensive, but they are good.

My mother moved into Carillon Senior Living a month and a half ago. It's a very vibrant group of people. She's adapted very well moving from Washington State, and she's met a lot of people. She's fairly outgoing anyway, but I think she's very much enjoying the community and the lifestyle here in Texas versus Washington. She likes to cook, so she wanted to have a full kitchen. She wanted basically an apartment rather than assisted living. It's very nicely done. They've done a wonderful job of converting some buildings that used to be student housing for Texas Tech into senior housing. The apartments are very nice. They remodeled each one as they went through new tenants. They did a great job fixing it up with everything that she wanted, new appliances, new flooring, painted cabinets, and did everything that she asked for. The staff has been great. She is basically on her own, but she gets one meal a day there in the dining hall area and then she cooks for herself the rest of the time. She does water aerobics and some other things there and very much enjoys it. The food is quite good for a healthcare facility. She does a creative writing class. She goes bowling once a week. She just enjoys meeting people and having lunch with different women.

What I like best about Carillon Senior Living is that they offer all levels of care, from independent to skilled nursing and memory care. They have every level of care. We just met with one lady. She was extremely knowledgeable and had been in the business for many years. She spent a great deal of time with us. Everything was very updated and beautiful. They have beautiful facilities, and the outside was well maintained. They have special meeting rooms, if you have a big family reunion. They had a lot of special rooms like that. Everything was very plush and very well taken care of, very clean, and aesthetically beautiful. I didn't quite like the location; that was kind of a drawback. It's a place that you actually buy into, so it's a completely different idea.

My dad was in Carillon Senior Living for rehab. They handled my dad's situation very well. He was just in there for two weeks for rehab. They provided his medicine, took care of him, and bathed him every other day. They were in there constantly keeping an eye on him amongst COVID, and he was quarantined with the others. He didn't have Covid; but because he came from outside, he had to be quarantined for two weeks. He did good there, and they took care of him. It was very nice and clean.

Carillon LifeCare Community was nice. I was very impressed with the facilities. There seem to be a lot of activities and they seem to have it very well mapped out. They have a wide range of different accommodations and I viewed less than 10 of the apartments that they had available. The gentleman who helped me was Joe and he was wonderful and answered all my questions. I was there for their Fourth of July celebration and got to witness the people enjoying that, and I just thoroughly enjoyed it. They took my information and then came back to me, later on, to let me know what I could or could not afford to live there, but I liked it. They have an indoor pool and all kinds of amenities. Some of the places have washers and dryers in the apartments, but all of the floors have a washer and dryer, so that if you do not have washers and dryers, you can utilize theirs. I found that it was indeed quiet too. When I was looking at different apartments, I really could not hear people in the other apartment. It was really nice, but of course, like all of them it's not cheap. However, once you are accepted into the community, you stay there for life if you want to, regardless of your financial situation. I didn't taste the food but it smelt good. There was a room where there were several tables of ladies playing bridge and I got to meet some of them. In the elevators, they have bulletin boards where they tell you about what's going on, and then there's activities within the community itself. In fact later on, Joe invited me to come back on Friday evening for Happy Hour. It was my birthday weekend, so I didn't go. It's just very clean and very spacious, and everything seemed very modern to me. It is a very large community and the grounds were well kept and everything was clean.

My mom is at Carillon in a small one-bedroom. We think that's going to be a good fit for her. We chose it mostly because of the long-term insurance. The amount you pay at the beginning, when you first buy in, the monthly payment, will not change throughout her life. I know that she's going to get worse, so that would keep us from having $5,000 to $6,000 of nursing home fees. Everyone was super great, they explained things very well to me. I did not consider them at first because of the large sum that you pay at the beginning until a friend of mine started explaining it to me that more or less you're buying an insurance policy. The monthly rate will not go up for the rest of her life, so we decided to gamble and try that. It's been very nice and I haven't found a negative thing yet. The activities are limited right now because of COVID. They're doing activities through a TV channel. They have their meal times, of course, and a few other activities. They still take people to doctors' appointments and individual shopping experiences, but nothing in a group yet because of COVID.

Carillon Senior Living is a Home for older seniors in all stages of living - independent, those who need assistance, and those requiring constant care in nursing home facilities. One thing I especially liked about it was to be able to move from Independent Living to Assisted Living to the Nursing Home Facilities all at one place - a place that is still home with the same friends and personnel that you have grown to know and love. In addition, there is an outstanding Activities Director who has a never-ending array of interesting, educational, entertaining, and informative activities planned that keeps the residents updated and informed on medical advice for the aging, educational information on many valuable topics, including the latest scams that seniors are especially vulnerable to, and a myriad of wonderful entertainment programs. These are just some of the factors that help create an ideal situation so that a resident doesn't have to move and readjust to a new environment as his or her physical conditions change. The rooms are wonderful and having your own furniture and favorite things make them truly Home. The staff is always great to work with and very accommodating with needs. And most important, it is a place that makes you feel welcome and valued and one that will take care of you. I strongly recommend Carillon Senior Living - it is the best!

My dad is living in Carillon House for skilled nursing. I like the fact that they've been able to respond to his medical needs. He's been in the hospital several times while living there, and they get him in and out. They put him back in skilled nursing so I didn't have to move him again. They have a lot of staff members with years of experience, and it shows. There's one staff member who has been doing this kind of work for people with dementia for 18 years, so we're talking about nurses with 30 years experience. Their activities director is really good, so I'm really pleased. The staff really attends to the people who live there. I haven't eaten there, but the food looks and smells good, and my dad likes it. He's kind of picky. He wouldn't eat in the hospital, but when he got back to Carillon he ate like a pig. He generally eats well there. The place is really clean. Sometimes you can tell that they're really short on staff and things happen, so they can't always get to everything immediately. In terms of activities, they're just really good. They're really expensive, but it's OK.

Carillon Life Care Community was a five-star place with a waiting list. It did not look like it was going to be available except for people coming in for independent living. The assisted living facility was very small. They gave priority to people there in the independent living. It had a church, a swimming pool and amenities, but they had very little access for the people in the assisted living community. If you needed independent living and you were ready to buy into it, then that would be a good place.

They have individual apartments, and you actually buy the apartment, which are more costly. Carillon is not as new of a facility, although it's lovely. I've been over to a couple of apartments, and they were large. They can knock out walls and combine two apartments if you needed more room. The staff is great. It has that connotation of being for people that has lots of money and no longer want to keep a large home, so they'll sell their home or donate. They have an exercise room that's full of equipments. They have different folks that would come in and work with someone that was having an issue or problem, and they have a trainer that's there on-staff. They go the extra mile to things like that. You can just go in and walk on the treadmill if you want. I would see staff walking some of the more elderly down the hall or to the dining facility.

Carillon Senior LifeCare Community was excellent. It looked like a hotel inside. I was very impressed. It was very clean and very nice. Three residents opened their rooms for me to come and look in, and they were very nice. They had a gym and a heated swimming pool. They also had housekeeping and laundry services. They serve three meals a day. They had transportation to scheduled doctor appointments.

Carillon is a good care facility. The staff is very good and helpful. On the first day, I called hospice in because they have a hospice in that building also. The rooms are nice -- about the size of a regular hospital room. They are carpeted and painted, and you can supply your furniture. They have all levels of care; you can start with assisted living and go all the way to hospice at the same facility. The dining room setup is nice. They have bible study, bingo, singing, exercise class, and church services. They have transportation to go to doctor’s appointments and shopping.

Carillon was the one I liked the best, but it was the most expensive one. It was really nice, and I liked everything about it. If money was no object, that's where I would go. The rooms and the dining room were very nice. The rooms were big, and the apartments were in the right size. They had lots of activities. They had food available even when it wasn't meal time; they could have snacks whenever they wanted something.
