My brother is in the independent living facility at Watercrest Garden Village. They offer what they call a signature plan, in which he can have three meals a day and housekeeping once a week. They will do laundry once a week. The facility is modern, nice, clean, smells good, well-kept, well-run, and has great people. The staff members were helpful, responsive, welcoming, and good with the residents. The food is great. They do gardening. They have all kinds of arts and crafts. They play bingo and card games. They take all kinds of little field trips. They have live music, which is wonderful, and residents love that. It's just a homey atmosphere. My brother's apartment is very modern and a good size. It's a one-bedroom with a patio that overlooks the courtyard. They can do some little gardening there. The apartment is very well laid out and has a full kitchen.

We went to Watercrest at Kingwood and that's mom's choice if she's gonna stay in Texas. The tour experience was great. The girl we dealt with was the best. They had independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They also had freestanding homes, so she didn't have to be in an apartment. There were a lot of great options. At first, she wanted to have one of those freestanding homes, but then after we went on a tour, she was leaning more towards being in an apartment because she could just run downstairs and go to all those activities, card games, lunch, and breakfast. She didn't have to leave in case the weather was bad or hot or raining, and she'd have more friends that way. It's a great community. The reason I went there in the first place was that it was so highly recommended online. When I got there, they were so warm and they loved my mother and they made her feel very comfortable. She opened up. She was reluctant to go in the first place, but they really warmed her up nicely, and then she ended up loving the place. We're very pleased. The rooms were very nice. It was a fairly new building, less than 10 years old. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom units were nice. What she liked was even though it's an apartment when you're going down the hall, all the residents decorate outside their doors with their own personal touches, so it made it very warm and friendly. We didn't try the food. The only disappointment was they don't offer dinner. They just had breakfast and lunch. They had card games she could play, they had a beauty salon, a little library that you could get books from onsite, and busses where she could get transported within 10 miles anywhere she needs to go, doctors' appointments, grocery stores, whatever she needed. It was nice that it was more secluded than other places in Kingwood. It has more land, so there were more trees and more grass and that was also appealing. It wasn't like being stuck in the middle of downtown Kingwood. The menu looked fine, but the room had a full kitchen also. The place was lovely. Even one of the residents came in and she was raving about the place. She said, "If you want to come here, I'll tell you how wonderful it is." It was just nice to hear.

We're going to put my in-laws on a waiting list for a two-bedroom at Watercrest At Kingwood. The overall experience was very good. I like the community the way it was set up, and I like that it's not all-inclusive. You do have some pick and choosing, so that was our biggest-decision maker. The physical appearance of the community is very nice, very clean, well-maintained, and has a very pleasant atmosphere. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff was very good. The facilities were very good. The hardest thing is we didn't go on a weekday, it was on a weekend, so it was pretty quiet. We saw a lot, but we didn't see the actual day-to-day interaction with everyone. We saw the rooms, not the ones that would come available, and they're very nice.

I loved everything about Watercrest At Kingwood. I loved the gardens in the front before you went in. I also loved that there's a concierge in the entry that answers your question. It has a beautiful foyer. It's comfortable, and they had elevators all over the place. The model unit that they showed us looked like a high-end hotel, as did the hallways. I saw a place where they could sit and watch TV with other people. Everything about it was awesome. They have a bulletin board with things that they were going to have. They have an upcoming Super Bowl party and an ice cream social. They have beautiful views from their balconies. So, it was not like a retirement home or an assisted living home. It was like a high end hotel with very caring staff.

I moved into Watercrest At Kingwood. They have a lot of activities, and the people here are so friendly. They seem to really enjoy the place. Also the people that work here are very caring and loving. The people that wait on you are super, super friendly. They're so nice and caring. The food is very good. It's not just thrown together stuff. The chef really takes it to heart. She comes around and asks if you're satisfied and makes sure that she's making you happy. They're really nice, and they care. Some days you're not going to get the food perfect, but it's almost perfect. Some of them go above and beyond. The staff are so nice and friendly, and they stay very clean. They keep up their lawn maintenance every week; they stay on the ball. They rotate their activities. They do it as the majority rules. If people want to do certain thing that other people don't want to do, they kind of rotate it. Everybody gets to do what they want to do. In other words, one month if everybody wants to play 42, instead of just regular dominoes, they'll have that. They let everybody have their activities. They just don't have the same thing over and over. Everybody votes on what gets to be played. They don't let it dominate that the majority always rules. They kind of rotate it so the other people get their choices too. It keeps it different, but you still get your choice because it comes around. They have Bible study, even for people that won't have Bible studies. They have exercising, and they have sit and fit for people that can't do the actual fitness in the fitness room. They have water aerobics here, and they have professionals that do these training. They also had cards, movies, and they even have happy hour on Friday. They bring in entertainment; somebody to entertain while they're doing it. They have ice cream get-togethers, popcorns, and movies every week. They have the movies at least two or three times a week. What makes it good here and what makes me enjoy it here is everybody else loves it here. The people here make you love it, and everybody else loves it. It makes it like a family. It's really nice here. We came over here and everybody was happy, and the women were laughing. Then this woman came and said, "Oh, you'll love it here." She was just going on and on about it. Then the price was so good. When she showed me the apartment and the price was really good; it was the largest one they had. The other one that my daughter did not like, it was very small and twice the price. I got a good bargain here.

I used to live in Watercrest at Kingwood, and I hated that place. My husband died there. I feel that the only good thing I can say about it is that the caregivers were very, very good, very kind, and very caring, but the food was almost inedible. I will also give credit to the nurse that was in charge, because she managed to prevent any of the residents from getting COVID, and that's a real accomplishment in itself. They had good staff, but the activities director was not really cut out for the job. The facility itself was very, very nice too, but it tended to be dark. The ceilings, the carpets, the tables, and floors weren't conducive to a light mood.

We have chosen Watercrest at Kingwood. Hopefully, my sister will move in March. We chose it because they were very reasonable. It's a very beautiful place. It offered more than what others had to offer. At a more reasonable price, we were offered a larger apartment with more closet space and more features than any of the others I saw. They have a swimming pool, and they can have your washer and dryer in your apartment, so you don't have to go down the hall for it. The place was very clean.

I liked Watercrest at Kingwood. It was very nice. They have a covered heated swimming pool, and a few activities that are included in your rental. They have nice sized rooms. Even the smallest rooms were of a good size. They serve meals and they have a complimentary breakfast. The only complaint we had was that the carpets in all the hallways had an odor to them. It was very clean and everything was really lovely (except for that smell). Of the places we had visited, they were the only ones who had residents who let us come to their rooms and look at them.

We visited Watercrest at Kingwood. We really like the menu and the chefs and they offer a huge variety on the menu. It has full size kitchen in the apartment unit and their own laundry room and Mom can bring her own washer and dryer. The staff was very nice, very professional and very attentive. They have chair yoga, senior chair exercises, and water aerobics and instructors. They have a mini theater with a popcorn bar, a coffee lounge, a library and game nights with lots of games like bingo. They also have a shuttle service to the grocery stores and doctor appointments and fun field trips and social hours once or twice a week. My brothers and I all live in Kingwood and the Watercrest is 10 minutes away.

Watercrest at Kingwood is the most upscale of them, but the pricing was reasonable. It felt less like a nursing home and more like an apartment complex for seniors. It was really bright and fresh. The main thing is that it didn't feel like an old folks' home, and it felt modern and updated. It's a very nice facility. The staff is really heads and tails above everyone else I saw. They reflected the vibe of the community. They're professional and had some polish to them that I didn't see in other places. I was very impressed. We’re on a waiting list.

My husband died in December of 2014 and I moved into Watercrest of Kingwood in February 2015. I love living here. I have many new friends, my apartment is so homey and comfortable. It is like living in a beautiful luxury resort hotel. I am content and that is one of the best compliments I can give this community. The staff is wonderful and there are so many activities for everyone. I am home and love it.

I like the cost at Watercrest at Kingwood. The rooms were roomy. The food was good. They were very accommodating of what our needs were. My sister and my mother are going there. My sister has Parkinson’s and they have a pool so she can exercise there. They don’t provide all the meals, and that was a negative for us.
