During my visits to a friend who is disabled and has been admitted for gastrointestinal issues, I observed several areas of concern regarding the care provided. Despite being prescribed a specific diet by her doctor, the meals served often included items like corn, which is not part of her dietary plan. This has led to health complications including fecal incontinence and significant weight gain, around 70 pounds in six months. Additionally, there have been ongoing issues with the facility’s laundry services. Clothes, including essential items like bras, have been frequently lost or returned damaged, leading to situations where she had inadequate clothing. On multiple occasions, she was asked to wear clothes belonging to others. I also noted that the facility's supervision needs improvement. My friend had multiple falls without proper notification to her family or her primary care physician, which is concerning. Moreover, there are privacy concerns, as the facility staff has restricted family visits to her room, which could be considered a violation of her rights as a patient. While I am deeply concerned by these observations, I believe in the importance of constructive feedback and hope that addressing these issues can improve the care provided. My rating reflects the serious nature of my concerns.

My mother has moved into Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem. The staff is very supportive in guiding me through the process. They are very helpful. The facility is very nice. It is well-maintained and clean. She seems to like the food. I just had a few incidents with them as far as bathing and stuff, but she's been pretty much on schedule since then. They have various activities. They have bingo, social hours, and a women's group. For the holidays, they've brought in choirs to sing and musicians to play. There were just a couple of issues that had to be resolved, like it took them a long time to fix the TV.

I liked that Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem was a secure facility. You had to wear masks going in. Immediately when you came in, there was a receptionist and then you had to go to this device that read your temperature. You sign in as a visitor and they take your picture. I liked that. We didn't set up an appointment, but they immediately saw us and we were able to talk to the managing person for admissions. She was very knowledgeable and walked us through the process. People were walking and everybody was greeting each other even before they saw us and that was huge for me. It just means that it's naturally a friendly and respectful environment. The facility was super clean. They provide rehab, and they would do in-room dining and would also assign the person dining room access. It was a really good structured program. They're very keen on knowing the dietary needs of my father-in-law, too, and the nurse would be there to assist him with eating if needed.

Capstone Healthcare Estates on Orem was clean. It smelled good when you went in there. The lady was very helpful and she explained the prices to us. She took the time to explain it. She took time with us and that's what we needed to feel good about taking mom over there. The only thing is when I called back and they found out that I might need hospice care, they didn't return phone calls or they didn't return my email. I didn't get a response back. We liked the facility and everything and everything they were saying, but they never called back to verify anything. They need to have some empathy when people are calling about their loved ones. They had a rehab place and all of the modern amenities for the people there, that's why we wanted my mother to go. When they found out that she perhaps was going to need hospice, all of a sudden, I didn't get any more phone calls back. They do hospice if the patient was already there for skilled nursing, but just bringing mom in under hospice won't do.
