The food is horrible. They hardly ever get fresh vegetables. A lot of fast-fried food, hot dogs, and sandwiches. At times they have run out of food serving meals.

Check out all the details that are important to you thoroughly, in writing. Briefly, the setup is horrible as dining room is so far away from most of the rooms and a very long walk. Limited activities., bingo 3 x a week, movie day, and craft one day. Sitting exercise in the am. Communication is the worst. No receptionist, no billing of invoices, no newsletter or communication of what's happening. No published menu but it's straight processed meats, buns, frozen fries or tots, white bread and no fresh anything and no choices. If quality food is important to you, be sure and ask. We were out within 4 mths. Not even close to my first rodeo, but this one is in my opinion, not.into the service business but the profit business.

My cousin has been in the Lodge Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's absolutely beautiful. It's very clean. It's very new. It even smells new. The staff is great. You have an option of like an efficiency where your bed is in your living room, and it has a full kitchenette and a big bathroom. Or you can get a small room (around 400 square feet or a little over that) that has a small living room, a kitchenette, and then a separate bedroom. The facility is wonderful. As far as I can tell, the staff is good. But I'm not so happy with the food. I've asked my cousin, "What do you have for breakfast?" And every day it's scrambled eggs, bacon and toast, or oatmeal. I'm not really happy with the food right now and with the price that it is. Like for dinner recently my cousin had chips with chili on them, and I think for that amount of money you should have some fruit and vegetables for your dinner. Or at least I think you should have a fruit for breakfast option. So I have to go buy fruit, and fortunately my cousin has a refrigerator. She can put the fruit in her fridge because her doctor wanted her to eat more fruits and vegetables and less salt (there's a lot of salt in chili and chips). Everything else has been wonderful. I'm hoping they just get the diet fixed soon. I did get a good deal, it's about $4,500 a month in comparison to a lot of places. This facility has just opened in December, so it's brand new, and it is really nice. They have a dementia wing and then they have assisted living. In terms of activities, they don't have a whole lot yet as they're kind of getting off the ground, but they have an exercise group in the morning. It's in this really pretty open area that looks out on a little pond, so it's really nice. They have a smoking area for people that smoke, which a lot of them don't offer. And a lot of these older people have been smoking for a long time and they don't want to give it up now, so they have a smoking porch outside away from all the facilities. It's very clean and very nice. Their maintenance guy is amazing.
