My aunt has mobility issues and wants to live independently but still needs to be checked in on. I like Montclair because they have a Home Health Care place on property. They can help her with whatever she needs and she can live by herself. She also doesn't drive anymore, so it is really convenient that they have a dining room and meals and a bus that takes her to the store or doctor or where ever she wants to go.

Montclair Estateswas really to me just a big apartment building with a few amenities. The apartments were small. I have a king-sized bed which I don't want to give up. The place wasn't on any elaborate grounds, it's just a high-rise apartment building. The staff was nice. They didn't have me down for an appointment, so they went ahead and gave us a tour and everything, but we weren't scheduled for lunch. They have a gym, and they do gym activities. They offer meals but you have to pay for them. There's nothing included in their rent.

Montclair Estates was really clean and quiet. Overall, it was a nice, secure place. They have an exercise room and they go to the grocery store. People can leave their walkers anywhere and nobody steals them. That really impressed me. Maria did a really great job of showing me the place and explaining things to me. The apartments were big and roomy, with a patio and a carpet.

Whatever you do .. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! I took a tour and they kept my drivers license, and have refused to give it back. The worker that took it was apparently let go the day after my tour. No one will take responsibility for the loss. Obviously, if they are this incompetent with my drivers license, I would definitely not place my Father in their care.

I just visited the property and think they have a neat set up. I was able to get lunch in the dining room and visit with my friend. It is nice to know we have a place to meet. We played poker with a few guys in their game room and are going to make a weekly thing of it.

I just move in last month and I am having a nice time and am happy here. I thought it would be hard at first since Im used to being on my own but it is still like i am on my own without the yard work. My kids live close by and since I cant drive anymore I like that they have a bus to take me to my doctors appointments.

There are so many more things to do at Montclair than when I used to live there. I have decided to move back to where my friends are and it isn't so institutional or big that I get lost in the hub-bub. I really like Bingo and my morning walk everyday with Michael. I will not move again and I am happy to be here.

Every time I visit Montclair it just gets better. They are making everything new again. It is refreshing to see these changes. My sisters friend has lived there for 7 years and loves it. The staff is so nice and we have fun at all of their events and social hours.

I love love love Montclair. I had moved away, but then came back after I lived at a neighboring apartment in the area. I regretted leaving and am so happy to be back with my friends.

I visited this community recently and really enjoyed the manager and Michael. They showed me around and I got to have lunch and I want to move here as soon as I sell my home. Seems like the nicest place to meet friends.

The tour of the facility was nice. The food at lunch was fair. All of the amenities sounded good. But I didn't know until I got home & read all of the hand-outs that were in the folder that all of these amenities had an extra cost. i.e. 2 meals a day is an extra $450.00 per month, covered parking- $25.00 per month. I feel that all of this info. should have been disclosed during the tour.

Montclair Estates is a very clean and well taken care of property. I liked the free brownies in the lobby. There was a party in the dining room and everyone looked like they were having lots of fun. I got to try out their piano too.

i took my mom there and she automatically knew this was the place for her just because of the fact they have a salon on site and have daily activities for everyone.

I am so impressed with this community and the friendliest staff I have met so far. I like the programs they offer and I love to play cards so I am looking forward to that when I move in. My son took me to visit the property and he gave the thumbs up for me to move to Montclair Estates and we looked at lots of places but none felt very close knit like Montclair.

At Montclair Estates, it takes a long time for them to act on a problem. When my shower was broken, it took them a long time to fix it. The apartments are OK but not wheelchair friendly. It's hard for me to get in the shower because they don't have walk-in showers with shower chairs; they are tubs converted into showers. I can't get my wheelchair into the bedroom, so I use my walker to get around. The dining area, and the food are OK. The staff is OK and what you would expect, although some are more responsive than others.

I visited Montclair Estates. I didn’t like it. It seemed dark, dingy, and rundown. Their grounds were not good. You have to go outside to get your mail, and it is unclear as to which door is to the office. The rooms were OK and average. The dining area looked old, rundown, and dark.

My mom is now at Montclair Estates. They are doing a great job serving them meals and giving them really different food every day. Mom really enjoys that. She was super happy with the job that they did with regard to cleaning her place. She likes to do one or two activities every single week. The part of that we are not really happy is that it's an older building, so the bathroom was really dirty, there were some plumbing problems, and a cabinet was falling off the wall. The walls were painted, and the carpet was new, but I was not really happy with the rest. I don’t think they respond well to the requests of their residents. My mother has asked for her windows and bathroom to be fixed three times and nobody does it.

One of friends from Church lived in Montclair, so I went and checked it out. It was very nice, and it had a lot of common areas/facilities that were really nice. However, it was on the expensive side, and I felt like the apartments were small for what they were asking for. They had activities. They had a calendar for each month on what they would do. They even invited me to come and join one of the few things to see if I would like it. They were very amenable. There was a group of ladies in the common area playing wheel of fortune, and my friend had told them that I was coming, so they were like, "Oh are you Jerry's friend?" I thought it would have been a very friendly place to be. It was homey, very friendly, and very pleasant.

This facility is a sham. They put up a front about caring for your family and offer you all these things that are not the way they really are. Once your family is there and you don't check up on them on a regular basis their needs are not meet and the residents tend to talk about how they are treated. The residents complain of bad service there and they are so right for the money that they spend to live there.

While not a new facility the size of the apartments, the staff, the FOOD and the activities are wonderful! The covered walkways and the great weather...My mother has been a resident and thoroughly enjoyed it !
