We toured The Waterford at Mesquite. They were nice, and I liked the people. It's an old building. They've been there a long time. They were a little bit expensive, but not out of the range of what most people could afford. One time I tried food. I did not like it at all. You had a choice of chicken or pork chops, and I don't eat either one because I'm a vegetarian, but I thought I'd try. The cream potatoes were okay. The dessert was pretty looking, but it tasted terrible. The rooms were nice. They looked like it was kept up well and clean.

We toured The Waterford at Mesquite. Everyone was super nice. It was certainly a great place to live. The only wrong thing was the financial part of it. My parents weren't able to afford to live there financially, but if they could, it would have been a perfect place. The apartment was a little bit small. They don't have a stove or a range to cook things on. It was more like a microwave. My dad likes to cook a lot, so it didn't have that accessibility for him to cook. There are three meals a day, so you can go down there, but my dad loves to prepare his meals. They also offered a community kitchen where he could go and bake something if you wanted to bake, like bread or whatever. So they did have that option. The staff was very personable and very knowledgeable. She told us everything in detail and told us about different things.

The Waterford at Mesquite was very pleasant and very clean. The room was OK and spacious. Their advantage is I currently live in Forney, so Mesquite is closer than the other place I visited. The staff was very friendly.

I visited The Waterford at Mesquite. It's all-inclusive. I didn't like it because I felt claustrophobic in there. It's just the space was terribly space for a thousand dollars and more, so I didn't like that one. The closet was extremely small. It had no kitchen. It was just the entryway, a closet, and then the bedroom, and that was it. The bedroom was small. There was a workout room, and then they showed me a dining area. The staff members were very nice and very courteous.

I moved into The Waterford six weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. It’s like living in an upscale hotel. The staff is warm, caring and patient and the amenities are terrific. My apartment is beautiful and very affordable. I’ve seen various negative reviews regarding the food but everyone has different standards and I am happy with the meals. If something is being served that I don’t care for I’ll just order from the alternative menu.,,problem solved! I highly recommend living here. And one of the nicest things is that pets are allowed!!

We toured The Waterford @ Mesquite when my Mother-In-Law wanted to move closer to our home. I had a feeling it would be the perfect place after just a phone call with the facility, but once we toured, we all knew it was the solution we were looking for. A great location, with a wide variety of activities and entertainment. They serve three meals a day in their lovely dining room, often with someone playing the grand piano. All the rooms have small balconies for having a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise or sunset. And so much more! I highly recommend The Waterford, and encourage you to set up a tour and see for yourself.

My dad has been at Waterford for 2 years now. He has Macular so cannot see well but still gets around great. He has been in other Independent Living locations, but Waterford has been the best for him. It is close to his former home, so he is close to friends and his church. I highly recommend you look into this place.

The food is rarely good and the service is poor. This place needs a manager that holds employees accountable. More importantly, they need to hire a cook/chef that prepares consistently good food. My mom just moved in and has already had multiple instances of inedible meals, particularly at night and on weekends. Another resident who also just moved in is planning to move because of the food. Residents are impressed with spacious apartments. That is the draw. When they move in and can’t eat the food, they begin to look elsewhere. We should have heeded the words of a resident who told us before we moved in, “the food used to be good.” Some people write off elderly people saying, “they are going to complain about something”. This is generally true, but in this case their valid complaints are being disregarded. The resident representatives on ‘committees say their complaints fall on deaf ears.

I've been at The Waterford at Mesquite for five years now. What I like about it is the meals are prepared and served to us. We don't have to wash dishes or anything like that. We don't have to shop. The food goes from mediocre to good and back and forth; sometimes, it's excellent. The staff is very caring, very knowledgeable, and for the most part, they will go out of their way to do more for you than would be expected. We've got bingo, card games, athletic games, and cornholes. Their crafts are mostly geared for the women. They make different decorations for our apartments and things like that. The facility is quite nice and well cared for. It's getting rather expensive, but compared to the other ones around, this is probably as good as or better than most. When we moved in, it was a true independent living; now, it's becoming at least half assisted living. I would like to see it more independent. There's a good number of people that are here that really should be in a higher care facility.

Big house with everyone under the same roof, yet individual apartment homes with fresh cottage appeal and lots of bright windows! Friendly atmosphere and grand dining room settings for each meal. Professional, friendly, helpful staff. A wide variety of activities for all interests and still time for conversations in sunny atrium and rotunda areas. Friends gather around puzzles or just to chat or listen to live music. Support staff available to add as needed. Open natural setting with beautiful trees surrounding patios and spacious front and back porches with rocking chairs to enjoy the fresh air. My parents have been here 9 months and felt welcome from day one. They feel at home here.

I'm at The Waterford at Mesquite. This is my third place to live since I got sick and this is by far the best that I have had. They're very good folks and they have the ability to get things done and the availability of some things that I didn't find available at the other places I tried. They have a dining room and I eat there and the food is generally pretty good. I only eat breakfast. They have bacon, eggs, toast, coffee, and orange juice. It's what I usually have. They have a whole bulletin board full of activities that people can go to. I do not participate in most of them, but they have handcrafting, walking, and exercise. They stay busy. The ones I have tried have been pretty good. If you need anything or have any ideas to improve things, they take notice. I'm quite happy here. The staff is all very helpful with what they can do. They are limited in some ways. Sometimes it might take a little while for them to do it, but it will eventually get done, so I can't complain about that. They have staff that operates the crafts and they have a good library. They have an exercise room which I have used minimally. I have an apartment here. If you need help, there's a member of the staff that can be called up. If I go to the library and I'm looking for a specific book, they'll say, "Well, we don't have it, but I can get it" and that's a good thing for me. Everybody has apparently some exercise that they can go to or be taken. They have care nurses for those who need it. If somebody is in their room and they need to be at one of the activities, all they have to do is call and the lady at the front desk will make arrangements for everybody. She will get somebody to come help. Everything seems pretty high to me right now, price wise. I know they're about to go up, but it's less than I would've expected. I would recommend it to anybody.

This review is specifically regarding employee, Ms. Tijuana M. My father is a resident at The Waterford and is so grateful for Ms. Tijuana. She is so very patient, & above and beyond helpful. Dad was a business owner and has friends all over the state and said, she would be person I would have hired. And I like that I have made a new friend. Thank you, Ms. Tijuana, for being so wonderfully kind to our Dad - you are greatly appreciated!

I visited The Waterford at Mesquite. It was very nice and all the staff members were accommodating. I talked to a number of the residents who live there, and they loved everything except the food. It's a for-profit institution, so the food is institutional. So with every resident I visited with, they love the place and the staff, but they all complained about the food. It's an apartment for people 65 and over, so it's like any other apartment in the city, only it's restricted for age. It's a very nice apartment.

I liked that The Waterford at Mesquite had cable and internet included in the price. They also had a nice dining room, a theater lounge, a pool table, a library, an exercise room, salon, and a chapel. Covered parking is available for an additional charge too. The staff was just very nice and very helpful.

The Waterford at Mesquite is in the area where we live, but they have all the amenities too that we don't need. I love the apartment. It was real roomy and I liked the balcony. It goes all the way around the building and you're on your own. In other words, on your deck, it goes all the way around so you can take a walk instead of going down on the grounds. I liked it. The people were friendly. They were getting ready to play a game and the lady that took me around her name was Debbie. She said the price was close to $3000. She was very nice and she told me everything and what they do and everything about the maid service once a week and meals three times a day for 365 days a year, which when you get to the point where we think we need that, then it will be awesome. But right now we don't need the amenities.

My friend moved into The Waterford at Mesquite. Everyone there seems to be very friendly, and I like the way that it opens the area for everyone to congregate and come into, it's very open, and that makes it feel inviting. They do have all kinds of arts and crafts, entertainment, and they have transportation to and from the stores and doctors' appointments. My friend likes it. They were very friendly. They seemed to be interested in the things the individuals like to do. There was a gentleman there singing, and the people sitting there watching you looked like they were at a funeral, and I felt sorry for the guy singing. I'm sure he felt really awkward. So my friend and I got to talking and we started just openly speaking out and replying to something, and then finally everybody else started interacting and really having a good time enjoying themselves. So they need more leadership. It was great for the overall menu. They gave you a variety that you could pick, and you could either have your meals brought to your room or you could go down to the dining area.

My family highly recommends the Waterford at Mesquite senior living community. Staff members are courteous, friendly, and responsive; the overall facility and resident rooms are well maintained; and the meals are consistently nutritious, appetizing, and tasty. The Activities Director offers a social calendar chock full of fun and diverse activities and events – including games, crafts , “happy hours”, road trips, and professional entertainment – to keep residents engaged and active, both physically and socially. Residents regularly gather on the porches and indoor seating areas to visit when not participating in formal activities. We have been able to hire independent caregivers, as needed, to address our relative's specific needs. We feel confident that this facility is providing a safe & stable environment enabling our relative to be content and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I like The Waterford at Mesquite probably the most. The staff members were very accommodating and very nice. They have been following up with me They gave me condolences when my father-in-law passed. They were willing to help and do anything that they could and accommodate us. They showed me 1- and 2-bedroom apartments, and they were very nice. It felt open, airy, and spacious. It's kind of set up almost like a cruise ship. The dining area was very spacious and clean. Of course, they're doing the social distancing with tables, rather than being closed down. They were taking reservations so that they would make sure that there weren't too many people at one time in the eating area. They were accommodating people if they just wanted to still eat in their own rooms, and they brought food up to them. They have a kitchen area if you want to do your own food. They have a workout area. There is a laundry area if you want to do your own personal laundry. They have recreational areas doing games and puzzles and that kind of thing. They have a church area. They have a choir that actually meets in one of the areas and practices every week. Of course, there are also outside grounds, where they can walk around there. It's probably my top pick mostly because it is very nice, clean and smells good. It is conveniently located between where my husband lives and his brother, so that we could be there to help do anything for their mom that needed to be done.

My mother moved into The Waterford at Mesquite. It's been pretty good so far when the power stays on. She likes the food better than where she was. The staff is above average. They have all been there over ten years, they don't have huge turnover, and they're all friendly, and knowledgeable, too. They have activities, and they put out a list monthly of what's going to be going on. However, she is in a wheelchair, so she doesn't do much. The facility itself is an independent living, but they contract out assisted living, so we pay for independent living, and we pay separately for assisted living for the company that is onsite. They've got patios in the back, and the ones on the ground have doors that go outside to a yard.

The Waterford at Mesquite is the one I kinda settled on, but my husband's health started failing badly. I loved the place. I have actually put money for them to hold a room for him. I was very pleased with that place. The staff took me and showed me different room sizes, she had me at a meal there with her, and she was very good. The food was very, very good. The place was very clean, and had very nice grounds. The room didn't have a full kitchen, which I was hoping for, but most of the independent living didn't have full kitchens. There was just a sink, a refrigerator, and a microwave.

My daughter and I toured The Waterford at Mesquite 2 or 3 years ago. My daughter knew someone that was staying there and that person was very happy there. The staff was very friendly. Everything was great. I have two little dogs and before I broke my shoulder and was much more mobile, the first-floor apartment there would have been ideal because it has a little door that lets a little dog out. I think money-wise, I would be able to afford living there because I have Social Security, and I could get help from the Veterans.

We visited my great uncle and wasn’t sure what to expect. We didn’t have an appointment so I wasn’t sure how we would be received. I was very pleasantly surprised at the friendly & helpful staff. They were very welcoming. The decorations and climate made it feel like a home. We were able to have lunch together and the food was great! My uncle just loves it there and all the extra activities that keep him busy and make him & all the residents feel like one big family. We left feeling assured that he is in the perfect place. We will be back to visit again!

We put my mother in law here on July 1, I can Not tell you how wonderful the staff, managers & residents are. We have felt like part of their family from day one. We have had health issues w/my Mother In law & the staff has gone beyond anything we could have hoped for or thought about. They have bent over backward to make sure that she was taken care of & that We knew all of our options & helped us get thru some very difficult days. They have so many activities for the residents daily, even through the difficult times of COVID. They really care for ALL the residents no matter how long they have been there. I can not say enough good things about the people who work in this community!

My mother loves The Waterford at Mesquite. They're very caring toward their residents. They take them on shopping trips, they take them on any appointments that they might have, and they take them on outings. They also give you choices for your lunch and for your dinner. The Waterford at Mesquite is just wonderful. They address all your needs. The residents are very well taken care of. They clean your room once a week, and they do your sheets and your towels for you. It is beautiful. They do exercises, they paint, and they play bingo. They just have a good time. The value for your money is excellent.

I really wasn't all that pleased with The Waterford at Mesquite when I visited. We toured the building and the room I saw had the carpets torn up because they were renovating. I'm not impressed with the room at all size wise. I don't think it's well kept up because there are too many dirty spots in the carpets, and that bothered me. I saw some people doing some artwork in one area. My impression of the people that work there were that they're really nice people, and I have nothing against the people there. The lady that took our information and showed us the room, and the one I talked to before were very nice. They even called the next day. They told me when they had a room that became available, but it was larger than what I'd seen, and more expensive. But they'll be re-doing the rooms and the carpets, and there's a kitchen area which had a little sink and hardwood cabinets. I saw the dining room, which was impressive, and we went upstairs where most of the rooms are.

I visited the Waterford for my mom. It's great; my mother-in-law is living there. It was very clean, friendly, pretty organized, and really informative. We saw several places and got to meet some of the residents. That was very nice. The price was in line with what people can afford. There's a pretty well-stocked library staffed by an ex librarian resident, which I thought was really cool. The have a convenience store run by one of the residents, which was a nice touch. The view from the balcony was nice.

My father is in The Waterford at Mesquite. It's beautiful and clean. The food and staff were great. So far, we are really pleased. He hasn't really done the activities yet. He's still doing therapy, goes to church, and enjoys the lunchroom. It looks like they do a lot of activities. They have a library, computers, a beauty shop, a barber shop, a little store, and a room which you can reserve for parties, which is very nice. The food is good.

My first choice for my mom was The Waterford at Mesquite, but their personal care was too expensive for me. It was very convenient for me because it was just right down the street. I can walk down there. It's new and kind of set up like a hotel. Their apartments were laid out more for special needs or extended need clients. Everything could have worked out except that the personal care cost was just way out of my budget.

My mother was at The Waterford at Mesquite for a month. Our experience there was incredible. It had a beautiful setting. It was like an apartment and the room was pretty. The food was excellent. The activities were wonderful. The staff was incredible. They had thoughtful and caring people. Mother just became sick and was too weak and she couldn't go back. I saw her today and that's what she was talking about, "Will I be able to go back?" and the answer right now was "No" so it was hard. I wished mother could go back there, but she's just not strong enough. I would give anything to have her back there.

My mother-in-law is in The Waterford. We choose it because it is close to us and she has lots of friends there. The have a lot of activities. They play dominoes and cards. They have entertainment come in sometimes. The place is nice. She's happy with her room. The staff seems okay. They have nurses that check on her. They don't have to do a whole lot other than feed her and clean her room, because she can take care of herself. I would recommend it to others.

An amazing community with a caring and professional staff. Mom loves her apartment and she can't stop talking about the food. With all of the activities that they have going on, its hard to get time with Mom anymore. Thank you Waterford for taking good care of Mom.
