I was very happy with The Landon at Lake Highlands. It was not quite as appealing visually. It is less expensive, and I felt like it was adequate for my needs. But the thing that would swing it in its favor is that it is much closer to where my son and daughter-in-law live, so it's easy access. They are very loving and are very interested in me, and I would consider that a very big plus, too. The overall facilities were good. They were not quite at the level of the other place, but it was less expensive. One of the things that stood out to me was the staff that showed me around. The occupants of the residence were very friendly and helpful. I had an opportunity to eat a meal there, and I would rate that as excellent. One of the things that kind of piqued my interest was that their serving size was quite small. They had done that because I had noticed that the residents were leaving food uneaten on their plates, so they reduced the size of the servings, and I had no problem with that. I thought that was a plus, and I thought that was smart of them. Another thing that impressed me about The Landon at Lake Highlands is that they have never had a power outage, which surprised and impressed me. They credit it to the fact perhaps that they are right across the street from a fire station, and it seems to have priority for power, so they'd never have had a power outage, and that was very reassuring to me. Another thing that I like about them is that there is an opportunity to come and stay a few days there. They have some rooms set aside where you can come and stay and experience living there for a short time, and that is something that I plan to take advantage of. They don't provide themselves with home health care, but there is a home health care provider that is housed there. It is operated as a separate operation so that if I needed additional assistance, I could stay in my room and I would not have to move out to another location if I needed additional care there. So that was a very favorable thing.

I will be moving into The Landon at Lake Highlands. The facilities are wonderful. They have a bistro and a restaurant in the building. They have a nice, large pool, a billiard room, and everything. That's all inclusive as well. The staff members were wonderful. Their food was delicious. The apartment is very nice in size, has a very nice layout, with large bathrooms, good size two bedrooms, balcony, nice full kitchen, and large pantry. They have yoga, all kinds of group games, dominoes, canasta, and bridge. They have a gym with a fitness trainer. They have a balancing machine that rates where you need the most work on balance. They have a rooftop, a lounge, and a park bench. It's a large community. It's independent living. The residents all seem happy and nice. The staff makes things easy. I just came from there, and they're helping me get movers lined up, and that sort of thing. They've been very accommodating to what I'm looking for, and what I want.

We looked at The Landon at Lake Highlands independent living. It was very impressive. We're just not sure that it's affordable. The staff was very hospitable and very good. The apartments were the best we've looked at, and they were the biggest. It's in a rather busy area. It's a very upscale, but very impressive place.

The Landon at Lake Highlands was a very nice facility. It's more hotel type, and the rooms were very nice. Their meal plan was very good, and we talked to some of the restaurant staff. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, answered all of our questions, and gave us a tour of all the facility and all of the apartments. It's rather new, and the location was good.

Churchill Estates at Lake Highlands is the best senior living facility that I visited. It is like a hotel; it is first-class. They have everything in there. They even have an exercise room with a heated pool. We met the staff in the marketing office and in the exercise room, and they were all good. We were even invited to see a cooking demonstration by the chef, and the food was good. He prepared food choices that were closer to fine dining.

Churchill Estates at Lake Highlands was fantastic. Stacey toured me everywhere, and she even got me into units that were already occupied so I could see the layout. They're number 1 on my list. I have no doubt that it would be excellent. Next door, they have the memory care and assisted living -- single story -- so they're a full service.
