I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Trying to locate a family member. No one at front desk. Waited 15 minutes, still no one came. Walk back to nurse station to ask where was the room for my loved one. I said excuse me Iam looking for a patient that was brought in last night. No one is at the front desk and I need assistance. She stated I know. I then said She's my stepdaughter, gave her the name and she gave me directions. As I was walking off, She was telling this young man that she get tired of people coming to her station like it's information. How rude is that, no people skills or professionalism. I had to find the room on my own. She pointed me down a hallway. I did not want to ask her any more questions. My family member has brain cancer and is on hospice, she can not move. I hope this is not any indication how this facility is ran. I will keep a watchful eye out on my love one because it's going down If they do anything wrong. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Staff sucks....

I visited this facility

Park Manor was OK; I liked it. The rooms were nice and furnished. They had a side for more physical therapy persons. I was not impressed with the staff. I don’t think that they cared that much about the welfare of the patients. The place was very clean. The kitchen staff were good and provided good meals for the people.

This is the second nursing home for us to come to for are and it was much better then the place down the highway of I-35N. Thank you all to the staff my mom is home and doing much better. Thank you S.Drake

THIS PLACED IS HORRIABLE!!! DON'T PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILTY!!!! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!! I have a blind grandmother currently residing at this place. This faculty is aware that she's blind... They don't feed her, they place the food in front of her as if she can see it, by the time we get there she's always a mess from trying to feed herself! They don't clean her bedding or wash her clothes & when we did allow them to wash her clothes they would lose half of what we sent to be washed, she's not cleaned properly & was sent to the hospital twice because of an infection that had gotten out of control due to neglect. One day I went to visit her with my kids, (her great grandchildren) and when we walked in my grandmother was laying in the bed without any covers, or clothes in her own feces!! I had to turn my children away and find someone. I finally found someone after searching for 5 minutes and she told me that she didn't cover the particular hallway that my grandmother was in, I guess she saw the frustration on my face and decided to help. When she finished cleaning my grandmother and putting her clothes on her she explained to me that only certain people handled a particular hallway and if I had any concerns to talk to the someone at the front desk. Well after waiting for about 4 1/2 hours I finally was able to talk to someone, needless to say that this person just started her shift and the person that was supposed to cover the hallway that my grandmother was in, had already left to go home. So we left for the night. When we went back the next day to speak with someone, the person on duty was very rude telling us that we only check on these people every two hours & that she didn't know what I was talking about. I THINK THE NICE COMMENTS ABOUT THIS HORRIABLE PLACE CAME FROM EMPLOYEES. THIS PLACE SUCKS AND I WOULDN'T WISH THIS PLACE ON MY WORST ENEMY!

This is our second time for rehabilitation. The facility looks better and is cleaner the our last visit. Our mother is going for the rehabilitation to long term care side. But we have seen no difference in care or staffing. The care seems to be good regardless of where you are in the building.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I went for a short rehab stay. i have been at some other places that looked less then a nursing home but had poor care. This place look a bit more like a nursing home but had good care. I am glad I decided to come instead of going back to a place in the same area that looked nice but poor care. I would return!!!

I visited this facility

From the minute you walk in the front door you can tell this place isn't just another nursing home. You are greeted with a friendly smile by the receptionist and the feeling of the front lobby is one of comfort and care. As I went on a tour of the facilities, it was abundantly apparent that the staff cared for those in their care, and it showed on the residents faces which were adorned with smiles. The accommodations themselves are quite nice and very safe, not to mention warm and inviting. From the dining room to the recently built rehabilitation wing, you can see the care and dedication for the resident's which stay at Park Manor Nursing Home.

I visited this facility

Park Manor is a long-term nursing facility with rehab. I've referred clients there and visited it. It's in DeSoto, a well-to-do suburb of Dallas--conveniently located between two hospitals. There's good parking, too. The facility is large and presents well. It has good eye appeal and is clean. The rooms are semi-private, average--just a grade above institutional. The staff is friendly but just average skill level for speech therapy, OT, PT. They contract out for speech therapy. They just have nothing special to bring to the table. Food is average, too--institutional. And the activities are very average--nothing that sets it apart. But they meet all the state standards. There's really nothing negative about it. One plus is that Park Manor is in a friendly town with friendly people--and it gets good community support.
