My mother-in-law moved into Good Samaritan Society - Lake Forest Village. It's very well kept and the staff is very friendly. They have a lot of different options available in terms of living in a cottage versus an apartment, so that's nice. It gave her some options. It has transportation if she needs it, and activities. There's a lot to like about the facility. They offer the chapel, crafting, playing cards, gardening, and some of her general interests. She made a comment about the food and she enjoys it. She's in a two-bedroom apartment and it's perfect. It's a nice layout. It gave her an office craft space. That was a good option, and it's a nice little living area. They call her by name. She received a nice welcome to the community gift, which she appreciated. They work to get her connected, and they are really responsive to any maintenance needs or anything that she has (so far, minimal), but anything she has ran across, they have been very quick to respond. It's a great facility. I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for similar living arrangements.

We've been to the Good Samaritan Society - Lake Forest Village. It was a very, very thorough tour. We told her what we were interested in. We had already requested brochures so that we could see what types of homes they had. And she found one of the residents who was willing to let us look at their apartment and everyone was very friendly. It was in a quiet, peaceful area, and independent living is actually what we're looking at. They have cottages and apartments, and they also have what they call twin homes, their duplexes with garages. She had an adorable little dog with her, she was very sweet, very thorough, very willing to answer questions, and explained everything really well. We did not go into the dining area. We just walked past it. It was too early for lunch, and it was large. It was well-appointed. The buildings are older. It's not a new facility. It's an older facility. But it looked well-kept. We looked at the apartment that we ran into. The appliances are older there, but they were roomy. One of them is actually as big as one of the houses I had at one time. And there are a lot of trees, there were cottages up and down the streets all through the trees. They have an exercise room. It had a lot of equipment. They had a chair volleyball court that looked like a lot of fun where you could play volleyball sitting in a chair. They had a great library that was, and the library was large. And they have a big meeting room where you can have a private event like a baby shower or something, like if your granddaughter got married or something. It had everything we wanted. A lot of walking areas for my husband. He walks a lot.

Shortly after I moved into Good Samaritan Society - Lake Forest Village, there was a big mishap at my apartment. The current facilities manager didn't want to investigate why this happened, and he wanted me to pay for the repairs. They can't keep the cable service on the TV running. Channels are off today after they've installed new equipment. There is a dining room here, but you either have to buy a ticket for your meals or put it on your monthly bill with the rent. Activities are going on here every day. There's a library, a gym, and laundry machines on each floor. There are a lot of trees around and there's a lake on the property.

The staff is always ready to discharge patients as soon as possible, before they are ready to go home. The Medical Director and her nurse practitioner care very little for their patients.

I'm currently in Good Samaritan Society Lake Forest Village, and it's very nice here. I'm in a cottage, and I happen to be in one that's a duplex, so I have a lady on one side of me. I have a two-bedroom with one bath, and it has storage and a nice kitchen. It's just a nice size. Then the other ones are twin homes. They're still more like a duplex, but they're a little bit bigger, and they have more yard. There are nice walkways in the lake, the food's good, and they have lots of activities. I don't eat there all the time; I still cook a lot. Now we've opened again, but when I moved in we were still under a pandemic, so nobody was doing anything. They sent little packets to us.

I have a friend who lives in the Good Samaritan Society - Lake Forest Village. I have not had any direct contact with the staff but I know she's very happy there. The place was very easy to navigate, and it was well-maintained, well-manicured, and inviting. They have covered parking while the twin homes have garages. She started out in a two-bedroom apartment, and then when the single homes became available and renovated, she moved to one of the homes. They just looked brand new. They're so clean with updated colors, fixtures, and granite. They have lots of activities too. She likes the oil painting classes and she goes to the gym and works out almost every day. She's very satisfied there.

Lake Forest had a library, and they had a chapel room where you could meet for church. They had a little lake where you could be outside; that was one of the things that we really wanted. That one even had a place where you could have a garden space of your own.

The staff at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village was very nice and very accommodating. The affordable cottage was just too small and not in a good location inside the facility, but the facility's location in the city was OK. The staff was very nice and very helpful. It just didn't fit our needs. The dining room looked a little small. They had activities, but I didn't delve into that. It's old -- probably 40 years old or so -- and they're trying to bring it up-to-date. They had lovely twin homes and apartments.

My sister is settling into Good Samaritan Society (Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village), and she's doing fine. The people are wonderful, and the caretakers are just wonderful to her. She feels like it's home. She fell, so they won't let her have her braided rug anymore and she's unhappy about that, but it is for her own good because her problem is that she can't see. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, a bath, and a kitchenette. It has a lot of closet space for one person. We took all her things to furnish her room, and she has all her important things with her. The food is good and they give her whatever she wants. If she wants a certain food, they will try and give it to her. The assisted living section has its own dining room. It is cozy and nice. Once in a while they have special activities, but I wish they had a little more activities. They have transportation for doctor's appointments. I think she's better there than someplace else, and she is happy there.
