My father is at The Villages of Dallas. He's in memory care. The facility was nice and the price was something that we could do. So far, the staff has been great. If anything happened to him or if he accidentally got up and fell or slipped down, they were right there. They called me and let me know each time that happened because he would get up a lot of times. The rooms are really nice and they're nicely sized. I was able to put just about everything that was in his apartment, except for the breakfast table. The items from his living room and his bedroom were all able to go inside this room and there's plenty of room to move around. It's not congested. He participates in the activities there. He gets up and goes to the dining area for meals and gets along with the rest of the residents there. Everybody seems to be happy, at home. The patients talk to me, and the staff always greets me when I walk in. They have mind things about like where would you go and might be staying. I was just surprised to see him participate in it. The times I've been there, the food seemed to be OK. His appetite was good. The main dining area is beautiful. The patients in memory care really don't leave out of that wing. They even have a garden that is good for them that they can go out into and it's nice. Their dining area and the area where they have their different activities and everything is all in that wing. They have a swimming pool inside. Everything I've seen looks nice. They have a chapel. It's a nice place. It's old, but they keep it up, the floors and the walls and everything. It's a fancy place. My siblings came to visit and they were pleased. Even when you walk into the place, you are greeted at the front door and they learn your name, they call you by your name and ask you how you're doing, tell you good day, even the receptionist.

We have moved into The Villages of Dallas. It's great. The staff is nice. Everyone's friendly. They have an inside pool, which is great. They have a large weight room. They have their own staff, like a therapist and things like that. We have a little efficiency, and it's really nice. They even have cottages here, and they're very nice as well. They have the usual amenities and daily activities. They have a library and different courtyards you can go out and walk around with flower beds and things like that. They provide meals.

I toured The Villages of DALLAS for my father-in-law. It was a very nice facility, and the people seem to be very, very nice. The rooms are old, and they look horrible. It's like the worst hotel you could ever stay in. It was really nice, just that the rooms were small. It seemed closed in, and they weren't very attractive at all. The independent living side was like little, teeny, and tiny. Of course, it was the least expensive; of course, you get what you pay for. I was disappointed in that. The person who took me on the tour was a very lovely lady. She was very excited to see me, and she showed me three different units on the independent living side. I was torn between which one I would even consider, but the rooms looked awful. The dining area looked lovely. She says everyone gets to order food off the menu. I didn't get to see the menu, but it looked really, really nice. They have a beautiful movie room and an activity room. Everything looked very lovely; it is just the rooms themselves looked horrible. They made sure to take our temperature, sanitize our hands, and we signed in. It was a very secure place. They had an indoor pool, which I think would be better suited for older people, especially people that need assistance.
