I am happy here at Buckner Retirement Village. I love everything about this place. It's a lovely place, and that is the reason why I don't want to move, because I like it here. We have beauty shop and exercise group. We also go to the movies when we want to. We go to plays, and we also have church service. We play bingo, and we have game nights. I like so many of them that I can't put them in any order.

The Buckner Baptist Trew Retirement Center is in the Dallas region, which is why we decided to check it out for our aunt. The outside features a lot of very nice and well tended woods and a park which the residents can enjoy freely, but with just enough supervision to be safe. We really liked that feature. There were plenty of patios for residents to enjoy for privacy, safety and quiet times. The interior had lovely furnishings that were also comfortable and accessible by all. The communal rooms offer many different activities for seniors to enjoy -- such a reading, crafts, parties, media and other stimulating offerings. They have arts and crafts rooms, a game room, gardening areas, classrooms and a library. The seniors are encouraged to enjoy the exercise room with classes and all kinds of great equipment. They can also use the walking trails with limited supervision. The dining rooms are nice and very comforting, as well as social. The food offered is varied and looked appetizing and healthy. They may also order their own dishes as they like. The snacks are plentiful, healthy and offered continuously. The private living areas were peaceful and nicely decorated. Every space seemed like it was personalized and comfortable and that the residents enjoyed living there. The staff seemed very caring and attentive so that the residents feel safe, secure and yet able to enjoy themselves outside and in. This is a very nice and relaxed setting for seniors --but with plenty of stimulating activities as well, as they desire. They do, however, seem tailored toward the Baptist faith, however, it is not a requirement to live here.
