The facility itself is ok. The leadership needs an overhaul. They will contact you when necessary. But you can never get help or information when you need it. from them. Daily staff help seems willing........but has an obvious lack of direction. Most other facilities are doing much more at helping families with personal contact with they're loved one's during this Covid time. This facility acts like they're doing you a big favor facilitating a simple phone call. Very disappointing. I would recommend a look at many other Asst. Living units around this area - as the costs are all close - but check out the daily care and the administrators closely. Makes a big difference.

We have our mother in this facility. She had a fracture because of poor care. We have a sitter to stay with her while going through the trauma. The nursing staff is telling the sitter that they have to bathe our mother, change her diapers when needed. The sitter is not an employee of Holmgreen and should not be place in a nursing care responsibility. Our understanding is that the sitter is there as a companion for our mother and not a Holmgreen Nursing staff. It is one of those horrible places. The nursing staff not attend to the ringing of the bell for attendance, they are not checking every 2 hrs (supposedly as stipulated), they are rude to our mother if she comes out of her room earlier to the common area. There is something about this place from the CEO, Nursing Department, Security, Maintenance, etc. that needs to be investigated. It seems that there is not leadership consequently the services to the patients/residents is mediocre. It is not a caring, save place for a love one. There are staff that try to do their job well. To those few ones thank you very much.

Holmgreen rehabilitation is the worse place ever for a loved one. They have poor bedside manners and no compassion for the patients. Nobody seems to like their job , administrators feel threaten by family members being there often. Lots of gossip amongst themselves. This place is always under staffed which have all nurses in a bad mood and take it out on patients.

An old friend of my family is currently residing at Holmgreen Center. She has been there for about a year now and is very happy living there. I try to visit her every so often since I just moved into town. She is always well groomed and the room is clean and clean smelling. She also tells me she enjoys the activities at the center that they have for all the residents. It's mostly bingo and board games, but that's what she's into. Over all the staff are friendly, kind and responsive. If you ask them something, they give you their full attention and try to help you to the best of their ability. The only concern she tells me is that the mattresses are horrible! And in all honesty, to me they feel like rocks. I would still recommend the facility to friends and my family, but I'd warn them to bring a mattress and comforter.

This is possibly the best nursing home in our area. The staff was always attentive and kind, the place was always clean and nicely decorated, and there were few indications by smell that it is a nursing home. The rooms are large and have a nice-sized window and a private bathroom. Residents are encouraged to supplement the furnishings with their own furniture and paintings to make it feel more home-like. Physical therapy and occupational therapy are available on the same floor and the doctor or his nurse practitioner visit frequently. Residents are encouraged to go to the dining area to eat but can eat in their rooms. My mother was on the fifth floor, where many patients suffer from dementia, and there was always someone available to help her get to the dining room or to eat in her room. In addition, the staff is always cheerful, knows each patient's name, and decorates for various seasonal events. For those able to attend, there are programs of various sorts on the second floor. There is also a beauty shop/barber shop on the premises. My husband was a resident on the fourth floor, a rehabilitation floor, where residents were given lots of encouragement to be as active as their health would allow. In addition, my husband had to go out of the building to dialysis three days a week and the staff made sure he got there on time every day. calling the transport service and making sure they responded in a timely manner. The facility also has assisted living apartments on the second and third floors, ties to a hospice group that provides on-site care, and has a locked Alzheimer's unit on the first floor. I highly recommend Holmgreen for yourself or anyone you care about.

Holmgren unit is the WORST. Wouldn't put my dog there. they are suppose to have nurse's to help but if a resident falls has dirty diaper they let them stay like that calling for help. Have heard from caregivers, family members,my daughter who is a social worker and treats patients there the horror stories. Priest and Doctors who go there have told me they treat residents w/ NO respect. Most who move over there die when a year and 1/2 due to neglect.

A dear friend of mine (88) is currently residing at Holmgreen. She has been there for about 5 weeks. I viisit 4-5 times a week at different times during the day. She is always well groomed and the room is clean. She is especially pleased with their Rehab department. She receives service 2 times a day M-F. She has made great strides in her recovery. Over all the staff are friendly, kind and responsive. The only concern we have is the mattresses are horrible! We would still recommend the facility to friends, just tell them to bring a mattress.
