I have a two-bedroom apartment here at Buena Vista Seniors Community, and I cook in my full kitchen. I can get help if I need it, but I do my own washing and cleaning. The maintenance is great. I'm overlooking a pond where we can go fishing. I have a pool, and I'm perfectly content. They have different activities every day, and everybody gathers in a room each day. They have two computers downstairs, a cappuccino machine and a coffee machine, and everybody always brings snacks with them.

The elevator in building 1 has been out since before Christmas 2021. It is very difficult for us seniors to get from third floor to do anything, like take pets out, get mail, attend any function. I have personally stumbled down the stairs twice hurting my already bad back. Most of us just stay in our apartment unless absolutely necessary to go out. They water the lawn constantly but it is not mowed regularly and the dandelions are tall and out of control. It is ugly and embarrassing. The activities are a joke the same old thing weekly. The roaches are the worst. The residents are the best. Caring helpful and very helpful if you need help. That is the best thing about Buena Vista Senior Community.

All of the amenities have shut down. Overrun with roaches. Treated with indifference from staff. Unable to retrieve mall with sporadic office hours.

We have lived here for several years. The only great thing about the place is the other people living here. Everyone is so sweet, helpful and look out for each other. The pool has been “about to open” for years now. It’s one of the main amenities that they push when telling people about the facility. The pond that is “good for relaxing and fishing” is so overgrown, I’m too scared to go out there or take my grandkids to it for fear of getting snake bit. The elevators are not climate controlled, which is hard on us older folks. They are either suffocating and hot in the summer time or cold and miserable in the winter. The elevators are broken for long periods of time, which make it hard for those in wheelchairs who live in the third floor. The management are never visible or approachable. They sit in the office with the doors locked and aren’t much help. The “activities director” is a joke too. There are no events or activities here except bingo which is led by a resident. What happened to the beautiful grounds?? It’s an embarrassment. It seems to be very mismanaged. I would definitely love to have the chance to make it back into the amazing and welcoming place it once was. I’m available to help..

Floor plans are great and the residents are terrific. Getting management to address issues is painful in that they are rude and slow to respond. Management appears to think the residents should be happy with whatever they have and don’t like to be bothered with complaints. Problems slow to address: Roach infestation Electrical issues Plumbing issues Small repairs Mold issues Security gate repair Elevator repair There is no one on staff to contact after hours or weekends for issues that may arise. The facility prepares well for inspections but lacks the same interest in cleanliness and upkeep the rest of the time.
