I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Mom is at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Memphis. It is a very well-maintained, well-kept facility. The grounds, the rooms, the common areas, and everything is maintained very well. The rooms are great. They have a great staff and great services. They are very professional and very well educated. They offer rehab, so there's speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. It is run very well.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My Aunt was there for the maximum time allowed. She received 3 hours of therapy a day, 3 good meals and the nurses and staff were very competent. The room was clean and they kept her comfortable for her stay. We are very pleased with the facility and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality care. Only complaint is she never saw a doctor.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Never send your loved one to Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities. The apperance of the place and the food they offered were fine, but I moved my mom in there thinking that she'd be able to come home sooner and progress, and that did not happen. It took me two hours from the time I called my mother to realize that something was wrong with her before I could get a hold of a nurse and find out what and who authorized what they gave her. They gave her an opioid and a muscle relaxer. You do not give muscle relaxers to 90-year-olds and hydrocodone. She hardly takes any prescription stuff. The hydrocodone knocked her out. I was talking to her and she couldn't raise her head off the pillow to see what was on her tray table.

I called the main number at 3am. I called many times and no answer. No way to speak to mom's nurse. I would no longer take a dog there. I noticed her shower stall was dirty when I visited. I am so damn frustrated. Find another facility.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My friend was at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities for a few weeks. It was convenient, clean, and efficient. He was happy with the food and with the care he received. When you go down to the basement floor, they have some tables with some jigsaw puzzles and a few things that if they're able to get up and come out that they can use. This was all during the time of the COVID. So, it was very regulated, strict, and only one person at a time was allowed in his room and everything. The key thing he was interested in, which was the important one, was physical therapy and that seemed to be OK.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My friend was at HealthSouth Rehabilitation. They were really good. The patients couldn’t stay over 10 days, and they worked with her. When she needed something, she could get them. They put her right across the nurses’ station, which really helped. It was clean, and the food was good. She needed transportation to the doctor, and they got it mixed up, but it was still good. I was very impressed.
