My mother is a current resident. She was in a nursing home prior and hated it. We moved her to the Mulberry House 3 and she just loves it. The staff (especially Kim) look after her like she was part of their family. They are very helpful and easy to interact with. Her room is spacious and very comfortable. Would not place my mother anywhere else. Can't really speak to the food or the activities and my mother is bedridden.

About The Mulberry House III in Allen, Texas
Choosing to place your loved one in a senior care facility is a difficult decision. At The Mulberry House Assisted Living, we focus on making the transition as comfortable and pleasant for your loved one as possible. Operated in Collin County since 1998, our state licensed homes are unique in their approach to providing assisted living services. We take a simple approach to offering assistance with daily activities by keeping our homes small and personal.
Our smaller community setting works well for residents who do not want to live in a larger community but still require a level of assistance and care that would be provided by an Assisted Living or Nursing Home facility. Unlike most Assisted Living facilities, we only care for 6 residents in each home, thus having a staff ratio of 1 to 6 at night and 2 to 6 during the day.
If an older north Texas loved one is feeling isolated and lonely or if you are concerned about how safe they are living alone, a move to an assisted living community can be an ideal solution. Among the many benefits are:
Safe & Secure: Our assisted living communities are designed with safety and security in mind. Safety features include grab bars, handrails, an emergency call system in each home, fire suppression systems, medication management programs and more.
Personal Care & Supportive Services: Adult children often ask us what they can do to keep a senior loved one safe and supported when the care they require occurs at all different times of the day and night. Our staff at the Mulberry House assisted living community is on-site and available around the clock. That means a resident who needs assistance using the bathroom in the middle of the night can quickly receive help. Socialization & Life Enrichment: Isolation has been identified as a health risk for older adults. It can contribute to everything from high blood pressure and heart disease to depression in seniors. Our assisted living communities offer a wide range of opportunities for making new friends and for learning new hobbies or pursuing old favorite pastimes.

After putting mom in 2 "warehouse" nursing facilities, this place was a God send. It is a small setting in a nice home with just a handful of residents. Mom gets tons of individual care and the head caregiver is so kind and truly cares for her in a way she has never been cared for before. She has a nice room to herself with a big window and though she is bedridden she gets plants of interaction with her caregiver. I highly recommend Mulberry House 3 in Allen!

My mom lived in The Mulberry House Allen for almost two years. She did not get the same care that was listed as part of their “assisted living” services. Only 1 caregiver was on duty during the day rather than 2. Night shift was not guaranteed which put extra stress on “live in” day caregivers. There was no system in place for the caregivers when transitioning on & off duty to update each other on changes of care for residents. Unqualified Caregivers were hired and kept on staff even after family members and residents reported situations that were evident of the caregivers inability to care appropriately. If mom got up during the night for a snack, she was told very rudely to get back in bed. Most importantly, medication was not administered appropriately and at times not given at all. There was no meal plan which ends up causing unbalanced meals. Residence rooms were not cleaned and the house was often dirty. Mom & I would hear caregivers talking about, making fun of and verbally bullying residence as well as their coworkers. This created an extremely toxic environment.

My dad stayed at this place for a few days before his illness caused us to take him to the hospital. While at the hospital we got the news that he didn’t have long to live so we decided to bring him home where he could live out his last days. A week later he passed away. 3 days!!! That is how long he stayed at this place. 3 days!! Did the owners offer to refund any of the $3,000 “community fee” we paid. NO! Nor the $4,000 monthly fee. And not only that, they had the nerve of charging us an additional $1,050 for 9 days since we didn’t put in the 30 day notice until the 9th. So they made $8,000 off of us for a 3 day stay. I understand it’s a business and would have fine with the $4,000 but They could have easily rented out the room and refunded the $3000 fee and not charged the additional $1,050. They just saw free money. Please let Karma be a real thing! I’m sure this is not the first time this has happened. Y’all should be ashamed.

Mom has done so much better in this smaller, more intimate and home-like setting than in the larger memory care she was in previously. The one on one care makes a big difference! My sister and I appreciate very much the ladies who take care of our mom and the home itself is lovely. We feel she could not be in a better place.
