Hidden Springs of McKinney was a beautiful community. We have friends that lived there, so it's attractive from that perspective. The things I didn't like about it were the current prices. They've gone up. They've taken quite a jump for a price increase. It was considerably more than what we found at some of the others. Understandably, the price goes up, but when they jump from $2000 to $3000, that's a lot. We know a couple that lived there for $4000 a month, which included meals. So, it didn't make it cost-effective for us at this moment. The facility was modern and up-to-date and our friends all liked the food there. One of my friends had a two-bedroom there. The other one had a one-bedroom with a den. Both sizes were great and they had a pool. I liked the way the community is laid out. I liked all the activities that they had available like card playing. It just seemed like the movie room was not great. They just had some regular chairs sitting there, not the comfortable kinds we saw in other places.

We had an in-person tour of Hidden Springs of McKinney. We really liked the fact that there was an indoor pool, so my mother could stretch her back and get that exercise year-round. They offer meals and the pricing is still affordable for the smaller units. They get pricey for the larger units. The facility is wonderful because it's all new, so the apartments don't feel institutional. They feel like small homes. I was really impressed with the kitchen because it felt like a kitchen in a private home. My mother has seen pictures, and she absolutely loves it, so that's something that really thrilled us. Another nice feature is the valet service, so my mother is able to get her car on a bad walking day or something. She can have a valet come, pick her up, and bring the car to the front, which is really helpful. The staff member was very thorough. She actually helped us get to see a unit. The dining hall looked very nice. The facility was in a beautiful setting. It's in a more or less urban environment, but it does have a really nice courtyard in the middle of the facility. They had some kind of outdoor eating area, which I thought was really nice.

We visited Hidden Springs of McKinney. It's a lot newer. The place has pretty much everything, they have a heated swimming pool, it's not like an Olympic size or anything. It's a smaller pool, but you could easily swim in it, and it's only three feet deep all over the thing, so that if someone falls, they're not going to drown right away, and they can probably get back on their feet. It's heated and the pool is indoors. They have a nice library and a puzzle area. The apartment we saw was upstairs, but they have elevators. It was big enough, but not really big. It certainly was livable. We're looking for a larger place because I'm having trouble downsizing. I'm going to have to do it in stages. And we like the fact that they had assisted living and they also had memory care. I'm not sure how the meals were, but the cafeteria was large, and they did take us through it to show us how the food was served, and they bring the food to the table for you 'cause it's not like restaurant eating. We went to the exercise room there, too. They had most of the modern equipment. It's not as big as some of the others, but the staff is all real friendly. They say they don't have any swinging doors with their staff, but their staff pretty well stays. They did have covered parking.

We toured Hidden Springs of McKinney for my mother, and it was very fancy. It was nice. I come from an interior design background, and it was well thought out and focused in terms of the color schemes and all that kind of stuff. Their amenities are a lot nicer and newer than the other community I've visited. The rooms were very nice. You have to have money to go there. The staff seemed very attentive, and they know everybody who is walking by. They were very professional. The Hidden Springs was more of a concierge-type hotel.

Hidden Springs of McKinney looked like a really great facility. I was pretty impressed. The rooms had a washer and dryer, which was nice. On each floor they had a storage area for each resident. It was like a cage with a lock and key, and they're responsible for that. They had a heated swimming pool, an on-site salon, and a physical therapy area with two therapists working with the residents. If you need to go to a doctor's appointment, they'll take you on the bus and bring you back. They had a special menu of the day, and then they had a side menu that had salads or soup or a couple of different kinds of sandwiches. I had a BLT and it was really good, and it was served restaurant style. The staff who assisted me with the tour had salad with chicken on it, and it also looked really good.

I went to Hidden Springs of McKinney. Qiu helped me, she was very, very nice, very professional. They were probably going to be my second choice, but it is farther for me over there. It was 16 miles from my house over there, but it was very nice and Qiu was excellent. In the same building they have independent seniors, they have assisted living, and then they have memory care. But the memory care is the only place I toured in detail. They did have a nice layout, I studied the menu. I went at lunch time and part of it was that Qiu wanted me to see the people. All of the people would be out there eating, and so I could see the residents. They all seemed to be happy. They would have to evaluate Mom and make sure she would be able to take care of her dog, because they just don't have the staffing to totally take care of a dog. But I wasn't concerned about that because I knew Mom would take better care of her dog than she would herself. I saw their facility for having hair done and things like that. It all seemed like a good layout, a nice building, and this was probably around three, four years old.

We toured Hidden Springs of McKinney. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable, but they could only show me one apartment because they don't have any available one-bedrooms at this time. I wasn't particularly favorable with the layout of the apartment. It had a full kitchen though. They showed me the library, the activity center, the common room where they had a church service that day, and the dining room. It was very clean and very well laid out. The Christmas decorations were beautiful.

We did a complete tour of Hidden Springs of McKinney, it was a viable possibility for us. They were navigable via wheelchair, which was important. The person that gave the tour was very nice and very helpful. The rooms were nice, clean, well-maintained, and roomy. We didn't try the food but the dining area was large and inviting. They offer transportation to various places, including entertainment venues, and other places that they can take you to, which is helpful.

Hidden Springs of McKinney was extremely bright and cheery. I was looking for independent living and assisted living for me and my sister. The staff was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. The tour of the facility showed nice rooms and apartments. They were high-end with great fixtures. The amenities were all-inclusive. The price was high, but it was all-inclusive. It sort of evened out between the high price and the items that I would not have to pay for, such as meals, cable, all your utilities, housekeeping. The assisted living was wonderful. They had a beautiful large courtyard. The meals were very tasty, I had a little bit of a meal. But overall, of all the ones that I saw, Hidden Springs will probably be the one that I will go with. I was just talking about independent living, but the assisted living had a nice small apartment, very cheery, and you could not tell when you went from independent to assisted living. The assisted living was very inclusive with the Independent. I could have eaten lunch with my sister. We could eat all of our meals together. It's a good staff ratio. I honestly cannot say enough nice things about both the Independent and the assisted living at Hidden Springs. It was excellent.

We toured Hidden Springs of McKinney. The only level of care that we're interested in and that we looked at was independent living. There were a couple of things to look at, and a couple of apartments to look at, and they showed them to us. Our tour person was nice, really had her act together, and knew how to talk about it. We are just really impressed with it. They were more reasonable and something we were more likely to be able to afford. We liked the layout very much because you didn't have to walk forever. Some of these places have a lot of walking to get around and that's always kind of a drawback. They had gardens, patios, a courtyard, and a swimming pool. It was very well done. I thought it was nice. I was very pleased with it.

My mother in law put down a deposit in August then changed her mind. We have been trying for months to get the deposit back. Phone calls, personal visits, and emails have been ignored. Be cautious about giving them your money.
