Morning Pointe of Powell is very wide open and very personable. When you go in, the dining room is on the right and then they have a room where they can gather people together. The rooms were nice, too. I liked them and the people seemed very concerned and very interested in their residents. They have the singing group on Friday morning and then right after that, they have physical therapy. They also have places for them to sit with visiting family members. It just seemed to be a very well-run and well-kept place.

Our Mother was a resident for a couple of years. When she first moved her there it was a very caring & loving place. There was very little turnover; you could tell they truly cared & were there for the right reasons. Then a new executive director & resident services director came on board & emphasis quickly switched from care to money. There was a constant turnover & low staffing. Even though you're told nurses are there 24/7, that is not true. Medication was consistently found on the floor, proving our Mother was not being given her medications correctly. She got a very severe urinary tract infection due to not getting her antibiotics as prescribed by her doctor because the nurses didn't follow-up; she had to endure a lot of pain & several trips to her doctor due to their oversight. Every time you tried to discuss an issue, you were told lies & given broken promises & usually a short-time afterward, they would find a way to go up on your loved one's cost. Several families of residents (us included) were convinced their loved one would receive more one-on-one care if they moved them to memory care. The real reason was more money. Most of the time, there was only one assistant to assist 13+ residents & if they had to assist a resident with going to the bathroom, etc., the others were left unattended. We & other family members tried to talk to Corporate about certain issues but got nowhere. We eventually moved our Mother to another facility.

When looking for assisted living one needs to get a definition of what is assisted living? Remember you are speaking with a marketing advisor to sell you something! We had a relative there and only had medication given to him. He could bath and dress himself, of course at times maybe miss a button or two on a shirt or may need help with his shoes being tied, he was kicked out and the whole situation was handled very poorly and non caring. Family was given only 24hrs to get him out and locate a new facility. No consults about his health or a consult of his progression if he was getting worse and needed more care. Is this not what assisted living is? Most caregivers realize the elder patients need patience and I am sure all patients are not gloriously happy everyday! Since the removal of our family member we have known of several other residents that have been dismissed! This facility should advertise as Independent Living!! They do NOT want residents that may need assistance or any help with the daily living! Please look somewhere else! The facility is beautiful but it is a deception! This place is worried more about liability than the quality of care! It is very expensively priced for what you get. A customer needs to shop around for something better! One positive thing is the occupational therapy that comes there is wonderful with wonderful quality associates! The associates really work well with the patients to help with their quality of life! We also found the facility clean. If your loved one needs help with personal things like getting dressed or personal help with showers I would look for another facility.

Morning Pointe of Powell was very new and quite nice. I like it better than the one that I chose but it is too far away. The rooms were very nice. I absolutely recommend this community. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and seemed to care. They make you feel at home and comfortable.

We are well pleased with the service, facility and most especially the caring staff that works hard to provide quality of life and activities at every opportunity. The majority of residents and families would be happy to see those with negative comments and opinions find a different facility if they are not satisfied . We will be glad to hold the door for you!!

Please do not be fooled by the beautiful facility and linen napkins. If you place your loved one in this facility and they are not able to comprehend if they are being taken care of or not, you need to be diligent on seeing that they are properly being taken care of. This needs to be done on a daily basis. While the resident aids (most of them) do a terrific job, they are way overworked. The turnover of employees in this area is disheartening as the older population has a hard time with change. The leadership and role models for employees is severely lacking. This would be a great facility if it had the right management team working for the good of the residents.

We went and saw Morning Pointe for my parents. They were priced a little bit too high and had an extra charge to administer medicines. All in all, it was a very nice place, but it was just not for my parents. They had very nice staff; even the residents were very friendly. We visited at the time they were getting ready to start lunch. We didn’t see a whole lot for residents to do there. The rooms were perfect for maybe one person, but not two, so they were too small for my parents.

Morning Pointe is great. They treat my mother so well, and the place is absolutely beautiful. The staff is great. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. It is just a beautiful place. I actually have not eaten any of their food, but my mother says all the food is just great, and the dining room is so pretty because they have the linen tablecloths and linen napkins, and it makes them feel special. They play cards and Wii bowling, they have devotions everyday, someone from the church comes on Sunday, and they have a service.

Morning Pointe is a very beautiful facility, but it was not finished at the time that mother had to move. It's going to have lots of activities for younger folks who are mobile. I understand that they were to have their grand opening maybe last week or last weekend. It's going to be a top-notch facility.
