One of my relatives was at Park Place of West Knoxville. It's clean. It's well-kept. The people who work there actually helped me find my relative who was in there, because I was I couldn't find her. I had lost touch with her. The employees were very nice to deal with, and all of the staff that I spoke with were very helpful. My relative was happy being there, and she enjoyed being there. I never ate there, but she said the food was good. She was a very social person, so she took part in the activities. You have a choice if you want to do your own laundry, and they have a laundry service. The room was very homey; it felt just like I expected her own home to feel. She got a few of her things there, and she got to decorate there.

I toured Park Place of West Knoxville. The staff was very warm, and the residents seemed to be very, very happy with their place. I was teasing the gal because after about five women said, 'Oh, you're going to love it here,' I said, 'Seriously, what are you discounting the rent to stay?' But they were just saying how much they enjoyed it. And the gal that gave us the tour has been there 14 years, which was impressive. It's a little old facility, but it seemed well cared for. It's a very nice place. They have a variety of rooms. They have a studio and a one-bedroom that does not include a range or a dishwasher, but has everything else. And then there's laundry down the hall. And then the one-bedroom deluxe was about 100 square feet bigger. They're nice-sized apartments, and that include a range and a dishwasher. Of course, they're sought after, so they don't have an opening in those a lot, too. I wish they would have had a few more outside spaces, but it's kind of in the heart of everything. The staff who gave the tour was lovely and very personable. You get two meals a day. You go down and get your own breakfast, which is kind of a continental breakfast. Then you get a menu supper in their dining area. You can purchase lunch for $3 if you want it. The place looked clean, and everything looked well taken care of even though it was older.

I toured Park Place of West Knoxville. It was all studio rooms, and the rooms were small. The facilities were very nice though. Other than the rooms, the facilities were very nice. The lady staff was very nice. I don't remember any activities. When we saw the room, I really didn't pay that much attention because I don't want that kind of room. The layout was nice. However, I didn't see anybody walking around doing anything. Everything was clean, and everything was very nice. I don't think there's any way that they can make bigger rooms, and that would be the only thing they would need to change. The facilities and everything were beautiful. They have a place where they do arts and crafts, and they have a library and a theater, too.

We are choosing Park Place of West Knoxville, because of the price and location. The studio was spacious and they had activities. They had a pool table, bingo, and others. It was a well-maintained and friendly place. They have a balcony, too.

Park Place of West Knoxville was very clean. The people were very nice, very accommodating, and answered all of our questions. It was just generally a very nice place. We liked how the dining room was set up. The open area in the middle of the buildings was very nice. The security seemed to be more than adequate. It's just generally very nice, very well done, and very well maintained. The staff during the tour was very accommodating. She stayed late to make sure that we got all the information that we needed.

I liked Park Place of West Knoxville because they had large rooms. I felt I would be comfortable in that place. It had a movie theater and popcorn which appealed to me. They had a library, a game room, and a workout room. I was able to talk to some of their residents and they were very happy there.

We’re moving in about a week to Park Place of West Knoxville. It doesn’t feel like a nursing home, and it didn’t make me want to break down and cry. It’s not fancy, but it’s sweet and very friendly, and there is enough activity level. Gina -- the program coordinator and marketing person -- has just been extremely helpful. Everybody is not in a wheelchair; some are using walkers. I liked it because my dad is in a little better situation than my mom, and I didn’t want him to go down. I just feel like it’s a right fit for my parents. It’s very close to my house, so I’ll be able to come and go, but I’ll know they’re safe. Every time I’ve gone, whenever they’re cooking, the meals always smell good, so that’s encouraging. We stayed for one of the programs yesterday, and it was so good. It turned out to be a friend of ours who was doing the photography program for them, so just things like that I know my parents will enjoy. They drive you; they take you to lunch. On Thursdays, they go shopping once a week to Turkey Creek or to a few different stores. What I liked about it, too, was it wasn’t just moving into a room. It’s moving into a small apartment, and they still have a kitchen.

My mother was at Parkview West 2 years ago. That was like living in an apartment building that served meals, and somebody was there 24 hours, but there was no medical care or anything. The location was very good, so she didn’t need to go very far to get to stores or get what she wanted. She had a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen area, bathroom, and a porch with a balcony. They had activities like bridge, movies, and Halloween and birthday parties for each other. If she needed a ride to the doctor, they have that for a small fee, too. I’ve eaten there with her, and its fine. She liked it because she could get out more. It was very good, too.

I have no complaints with regards to the facilities and the services Parkview West has provided me. The personnel working there are very good. The food is fine and very well prepared. I may not participate in their activities, but they do have something going on just all the time.

Parkview West gave me a tour in their facility. The place is very nice. The staff gave me a lot of information and showed me their model apartment. They had everything there. They have a theater, a beauty shop, and they have an exercise room. They have transportation for the residents for doctor's appointments. It was an excellent place, but very expensive.
