My mother has been well cared for since she first entered this facility for assisted living about three years ago. She has since progressed to memory care and the transition was very smooth. It offers a fine, bright and clean facility with consistently courteous and attentive staff. It's very convenient for NE Columbia residents and offers good value monthly prices. It seems to always be a cheerful place and the food is quite tastey with healthful nutrition. I can say that we've all been very pleased since the beginning of her residence there.

I would not recommend this facility. I moved in on February 28th and was told there would be housekeeping and 2 meals per day. Yesterday we were told they would be no housekeeping ever, and that they would only be one meal a day. We were also told there would be no reduction in the cost even though they have reduced the services. I consider this a typical bait and switch situation.

ITS NOT A PLACE FOR MOM OR DAD. THE INDEPENDENT RESIDENTS ARE WARM AN FRIENDLY IS THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY. Small portions of food is served to residents. Head cook work ethics are horrible and residents wait anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes to be served. Mold in building and independent residents apartments. Upkeep of ground maintenance and apartment maintenance is non-existent. You're pretty much on your own. Rental rates are unfair. Some residents pay less than others. Charge for amenities that they don't provide however will charge you for it. Overall, it's a nice small community because the independent residents are wonderful

I have been trying to get the administrator to return my call for almost a month. I am a resident's new fiduciary and also a relative. I'm trying to get an invoice to pay the resident's rent for January. I have spoken with several people and left messages but have yet to receive a returned call. Soon it will be time for February's rent.

Mill Creek Manor didn't offer a lot of the stuff that I saw at the other place, but it was nice and clean and they've got friendly staff. They're a little bit cheaper, too. The apartment was great. It was definitely something that I could live in without any problem. They keep the grounds clean. It's a comfortable place. I didn't see an exercise room though. I went there for independent, but I also saw the assisted living. The residents had just finished up bingo and they all seemed happy. I saw their dining area. I didn't see their menu, but they told me they had three meals a day. Everything else was nice and clean and taken care of. The grounds were well taken care of and manicured. They provide transportation to take you shopping and to your doctors' appointment.

I liked the fact that Mill Creek Manor was more set up for independent living because your apartment was not attached to the main building. You drive over to your apartment, but they also had care on-site. One of the residents showed me her apartment and she was just saying how they made some accommodations for her. In the main building, they have a dining facility and a nurse on call. Then they transport you to doctor's appointments. The nurse was the one that assisted me and she was very nice taking me around and answering all of my questions except about cost. She couldn't answer that part, but everything else she was very informative about.

My tour at Mill Creek Manor was OK. It was the first or second week for the person that toured us. She didn't know much about prices or anything. She toured us and gave good information, but there was no follow-up. We were interested at that time, but no one followed up. I left a message, but they still didn't respond. The staff didn't know much about the pricing, but everything was separated. The room had a large space, but you had to pay for your food and your activities. Everything was separated. They said if my sister got sicker, then it would be a whole lot more. The price was just for the room itself. They had appliances in the room. Everything was there. There was a washing machine and storage. The person that took us around was very nice. She was very helpful. They had an activity room. The only thing I saw was the dining room, but nobody was in there. It looked like tables and chairs, and that's all. It looked like a nice place. If communication is not there, then there's a lot of things that would slip through the cracks.

Mill Creek Manor was very clean. The staff was very nice. I don't have any negative things to say about it. I did not try the food and the only room that I saw was under construction. They didn't have another opened one, so it was kind of hard to tell a lot about it. They've got a library and a movie room that's got a large screen TV and comfortable chairs with snacks and stuff and it's set up like a theater. They have bible studies and outings. A lot of the residents were out that day, and they were taking them on an outing. It seemed like they were active.

My mom will be moving to Mill Creek Manor's assisted living. My brother and my wife went down with me there and loved it. Sometimes you go to a nursing home and it smells like a nursing home or assisted living. What sort of impressed my wife were the cleanliness and the professionalism of the staff. I like the fact that it wasn't that crowded either. I think they only have like 20-something people and they have a lot of freedom too because it's not a nursing home.

My father is at Mill Creek Manor and everything has been great so far. Everyone has been super nice. He has a two-bedroom, one-bath apartment with a living room, a full kitchen that has a lot of cabinet space, a front little porch, and a back little porch where he can sit outside and watch the sun and/or the woods, a pantry, a washer-dryer area, and a full walk-in shower, which is easier for him to use. So everything is really, really nice. His dog is free to be on his leash in his apartment, so he's very happy with everything that he does. They also have other room sizes, like a two-bedroom with two baths/one bath, as well as studios. He can have the option to go to the facility to eat his meals. They have a full dining staff and housekeeping services. They did the Veterans Day activity, which was in the main building, where they had someone come out from the floor to speak with all the veterans, thanking them for their service. They also have arts and crafts, options to play card games, chess, and a lot of different things.

I toured Mill Creek Manor. I just didn't feel as comfortable there. It was clean, and the staff was all very nice. They weren't able to work within my budget as the other facility was. The other facility was a little more flexible with the budget that I could do, so that was a big factor. The facilities were good. I didn't see much of the activities since I just did the basic tour, but they had a list of things that my mother-in-law was able to do, and they were very similar to the other facility. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I was there that day for lunch, and it smelled very good. Their menu looked very appetizing. I didn't see the exercise room. Someone was using it for therapy, so we couldn't go in there. But I did see the activity room, the dining room and different ones like that. They were all very nice.

I like the way that Mill Creek Manor was laid out. The apartments are all on the first floor, so no matter which you take, you have a first-floor entrance. Everybody was very nice, the manager was extremely nice and I even met a couple of the people that are going to be living there already. It seemed to be a very pleasant place. It's a nice facility, you can have a washer and dryer in your apartment, they take care of all the utilities and they offer food. So if you want to have your food made for you, you can, and if you don't want to, you don't have to choose that part of it. It.s nice because they have independent dining, they have assisted living dining and they have memory care dining.

My dad was a resident at Mill Creek Manor. I did not like anything; they were very unprofessional and not clean. They have very unprofessional caregivers, no activity, and the food is terrible. I moved him out of there because I was afraid for him. They lost my father. The staff is not professional at all. They're supposed to have activities, but they never did them with the clients. The memory care facilities are terrible, it's a box. If they go outside, there's nobody to care for them. The rooms are very small, not well-lit. You do not get what you pay for. The things that they tell you you're going to receive; you do not receive the value; it's not worth it. I would tell everybody, anybody that you love, don't take them there.

Mill Creek Manor was awesome. They were kind and were able to offer us breakfast while we were waiting. Then they showed us the room, talked to me about the facility, what they do there, the type of care, and all of that. I was there not for very long, but the staff was fine, checked on me, and were polite. The apartments were good because you're able to bring your own furniture and own television. Anything that you want to bring to get your room set up the way you wanted it, or the way the resident would want it, you could do that. So, they had choices on how they wanted their room to be for them.

My uncle is in Mill Creek Manor. So far, I'm satisfied. It's clean and homey. His room had a closet and a bathroom. They have moved him since I was down there, so I don't know what his room looks like now. His room was fine, and I wouldn't mind staying there. He was in the assisted living, but he's been moved to memory care and I haven't been there. The one meal he had was brought to his room. The staff was friendly and caring, and they looked out for him. It's in a good neighborhood. It's kind of rural but close to town. It's a good price.

My father will be moving into Mill Creek Manor memory care unit. It was a wonderful, reassuring community. We took the tour and met the staff. We thought that it was going to be our first choice and after viewing several other facilities. We agreed that it was the place that he was gonna go to. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Her goals were family oriented. She felt like a family member to us. The facility was excellent, no smell, clean, and the clients that we saw were clean and neat as well. We chose it because the staff knew their clients' names and the clients knew the staff's names. They sit in with the group, and they communicate to find out if everything is OK.

My husband will be moving in to Mill Creek Manor. I like that it is close to where my children live so they can see him when I can't because I'm 60 miles away. The place is clean, and the people are nice and friendly. I get a homey feel. They have a great little sunroom to sit in the sun. They seemed like very caring people. They renovated their showers so you just kind of step in. You don't have worry about them falling. It is just a great place. It was like home. We were not able to taste the food. I looked at one of the menus. It has all the great things he loves. He grew up on a farm, so its country cooking with lots of fruits and vegetables. As long as he's got fruit, he's good. The menu looks amazing. They have days when they go out and do things. They can walk. They've got inside activities with instructors to help them with games and get them to be able to move. They can participate in whatever games they've got going on or something to keep their mind stimulated. When I was there, they were all playing a game. The staff is very engaging and very friendly. In fact, I just got off the phone with the director saying, "Can I help you with anything? Don't hesitate to call me and if you've got any problems. Let us know and we'll work through it together." I like that because I call often. I feel like somebody actually cares. I only visited their dining hall, the game room, the sunroom, and activity room. I like it because I think he'll be safe there.

We visited Mill Creek Manor in person. It was fine. I had no issues with them. The room was fine, and it was well taken care of. They have a TV room, and they have daily activities like arts and crafts. The staff who assisted me appeared to be very caring and very sincere.

We're leaning very heavily toward Mill Creek Manor for my father. We saw everything. The staff seemed very friendly and attentive. The facility and grounds themselves appeared very clean and sanitary. Out of the facilities that we have looked at, it had the best maintenance. The area was secure, and it made me feel that my father would be safe in that memory care facility with the security that they had. The staff showed us a movie room and an activity area. There was an outside area that they could sit in that was 100% secure. We're moving him within the next thirty days.

I visited Mill Creek Manor in person and I was very happy with the tour. I liked that community, and if they have an opening I would be happy to put my sister there. I went there during the morning, so everything was quiet. The manager did a really good job, I was pleased with everything. I didn't see their studio, but she showed me a two-bedroom two-bath, and I was pleased with the setup and everything. It was really well-kept, including the outdoors. I also saw someone from housekeeping going around collecting the trash. The overall living atmosphere and layout seemed good. I got there a little early, but the staff was very attentive and wanted to make sure that someone had spoken to me.

I visited Mill Creek Manor (Formerly Amara Place). I'm on their list, and I'm just waiting for an opening. What was nice was they didn't have anyone living upstairs, and the room didn't have a bathtub. The facility was nice and nice sized. The staff was great, nice, and knowledgeable. I saw a library, an activity room, and a beauty salon. The apartment was nice and adequate for my needs.

Amara Place was nice. However, they had more people in the assisted living area than they do in the independent. I met some lovely people there, but there were only about eight people and they were in a very small dining room. They separated the assisted living people from those who can do for themselves because some of the people had to be fed, and some of the people were in wheelchair. It was a little more segregated than I would like for it to be. The group I was with was a much smaller group, but everything was fine. The apartments were modern and very neat. They were not too many all in one place; they were spread out nicely. Food was excellent. They also had diabetic dessert which was so good for me. It was excellent. It was not a large place but it was very well maintained, very fresh, and clean.

Amara Place was very well laid out. I liked that the independent living was separate, but not completely so. They would check on you in the mornings and make sure you're doing OK even though it's independent living. They have nice one- and two-bedrooms. The floor plan was really nice and pleasant. They have arts and crafts, and cards, and if I don't want to cook, I can go out and eat in the hall. It was pleasant and clean. The staff was very efficient and very pleasant, very welcoming when you walk in the door, and very friendly. They're great people, very courteous, and they answered all my questions. It was very well kept. The maintenance was awesome, including the yard. Everything was perfect and topnotch. The price was just way too much out of my bounds for independent living.

We have already moved into Amara Place. All the other clients seem to be very friendly and helpful. The staff got a big growth spurt at the same time we moved in. We eat three meals a day, and it has been good food. They take trips to stores, they have crafts and games, and they have a monthly friends and family night. We visited several different places, but Amara Place was the one that we felt met our needs.

Amara Place is very nice, clean, and inviting. They have activities all day long, like exercising, plus they have a beauty parlor, take the seniors to Walmart, have lunch dates every once in a while and bring in people. Once a month they do an activity where they invite the family and have a family night. They keep the residents busy all day long. The staff was very welcoming, receiving, and helpful. The food is very good.

Amara Place was being remodeled and everything was askew when we visited. I wouldn't go there because the kitchen was small. They showed me five different rooms that were all small and pretty much the same. It's hot here in South Carolina, but their patios weren't covered, although they did have some umbrellas outside.

Amara Place's apartment was very nice and big, and it had a patio, but it was in a separate building. There were lots of different buildings, which weren't connected, and to get to the dining room, I would have had to go outside and walked through the parking area. It would have been kind of scary, and I just didn't like that.

We chose Summers Landing for my mother because it was the most affordable and it's five minutes from my home. They got a nice floor plan, a big kitchen, and lots of cabinets. They're fully-equipped and modern. I love the apartments. They have 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments. They have activities for anybody who wants to participate whether you live within assisted living building or you live in their apartments. They take trips and they have movies and games. They have a lot of beauty shops on the premises. I am very pleased with the service that my mother is getting.
