Southwinds Assisted Living is located on 8 acres of beautiful countryside property in Ridgeway South Carolina. People love the peaceful quiet atmosphere of our property. We are conveniently centered between the towns of Ridgeway and Historic Camden. Unlike many of the larger facilities our country home decor provides what is often referred to as a real "home away from home experience." Our men's and women's buildings share a secured courtyard. Our residents' rooms are completely furnished, have free satellite television, private bathrooms, and all bathing supplies and bed linens are provided. Bathing assistance is provided if necessary 3 times a week or more if needed. Free laundry services are provided daily. All Medicine is monitored and given by our staff as needed. Any private physical therapy or hospice services have access to our residents daily. Three Home cooked meals are included and provided daily. Free Wifi internet access is available. We are in close proximity to numerous physician offices and MUSC Health Kershaw Medical Center in Camden. Family members are allowed unlimited visits anytime during the day without notice. Family and friends may also pick-up residents for special occasions at any time. Phone services are not provided but personal cell phones are allowed for all residents. Pets are allowed for visits only, as long as proper paperwork is provided and they are leashed and under the control of the owner at all times. Residents may own and operate their own automobiles provided they submit a doctor's written approval. We chose Southwinds for my mom. I like that it's a small family-owned and operated facility, so it feels very home-like and caring. Each resident has their own room. The staff is fine. Their food is very good, country-style cooking, and my mother is eating like a horse. They have limited activities, but I know they do play a little bit of bingo and do some exercises. We are very pleased, and my mom is very happy in this place.

My wife has been there now for 4 months. Family atmosphere exists. I visit on a very regular basis and have no complaints whatsoever.

My dad was in Southwinds before, and he was happier there than anywhere else. It was a very small community, so they had a small staff. He likes the people that work there. I was not thrilled with his room. He was in a house that has been converted, and I thought there was a lot of clutter. I don’t think it was safe for an elderly person.
