I wasn't quite as impressed with Villa at St Antoine. I felt it was too formal. You could easily get lost. The whole downstairs kind of went over in a circle or square. The staff got to show me a couple of rooms, but I found everything a little bit smaller than at the other place. The person showing me the place was very nice. The one thing that turned me off was if my husband wasn't feeling up to going down to dinner, I asked, "Would he have the meal in the house?" She goes, "Yes, we won't charge him if he's feeling ill, but if he's not feeling ill and he just doesn't want to come downstairs, there's a $6 charge, and if you stay in with him, there's $6 for you, too." I understand the concept of wanting to be in the dining room and get you out of the room, but if we had a really busy day, he might not want to go. I thought that was a little bit too rigid. The place was clean, but I found it on the plainer side and not as pretty as the other place. My husband is in their rehab unit, so I can order food from The Villa for my lunch. I've done a couple of their salads, which were excellent. They serve large portions when you order. Today, I had a sandwich. They've got a lot of choices for us to choose from, so that was very good. I just felt like some of their meals weren't the kind that those in their seventies, eighties, and nineties grew up with. It wasn't as much like a home-cooked meal. It's more of the new generation.

I toured Villa at Saint Antoine. We were very impressed with their room sizes. The facilities were beautiful and immaculate. The setup here was a little less desirable than the other places I toured, and it all had something to do with the level of care that my mother would need. The staff members were all wonderful. Their amenities are all similar to others, their different recreation rooms and courtyard were very beautiful. It's a bigger facility that would be ideal for someone who would not need a lot of assistance.

Villa at St. Antoine was very nice and the rooms would be spacious enough. I would have to pay extra for all the services that I would need and I didn't particularly care for that, but I would have gone because the place itself was very nice. Everything was very nice about it. They had activities, shopping tours, and day trips. I just didn't want to pay for everything that I needed.

We went up to The Villa at St Antoine. It was very nice; everybody was very professional. It’s just far away from me; my mother would never see me. Quite a bit of the place is more of a nursing home than assisted living. They just have a small area that’s assisted living, so I didn’t care for that too much. I would rather just have an assisted living place and not a nursing home and assisted living.

My mother-in-law is at Villa at St Antoine. The facility is wonderful, and they have really good people. Their staff are very well trained, and I like the care that they are able to provide to their residents.

Villa at St. Antoine was nice. It was brand new and immaculate. It was part of a nursing home inside a campus, but it was in a separate building. It's run by Catholic Diocese in Rhode Island. My uncle actually helped designed the interior of the lobby. He was very artful, so he was very loved there. The lobby looks like a hotel. The rooms are very small, that's the only downside. But it was like a miniature studio apartment and it was beautiful. I also think they had a good chef most of the time, so I would say that the food was very satisfactory. It wasn't cafeteria food, but it was home-cooked. My uncle was never in his room. They had lots of activities like bingo games, as well as popcorn with the movies. Usually, they have activities in the afternoon after lunch, if they don't want to take a nap. They have options of things to do.
