Rooms are spacious, clean and do not smell. I liked that the staff is very helpful and friendly. I liked that the memory care unit is locked. I liked that visitors need to screen for covid and are monitored to sign in with front desk. I believe this is the perfect community for a loved one that can no longer live on their own and needs special care. There are a lot of amenities that are offered and the enclosed courtyards are great. I must say for the short time my mother-in-law has been at Independence Court we've had nothing but fine dealings with the staff. It's possible others have had different experiences, but I can only say we are pleased with the staff and the facility.

Independence Court of Monroeville was the one that toured us the least. We only went into the lobby area and a sample apartment room. We didn't see as much of the facility. They were the most rigorous with their COVID restrictions and so we were only allowed in limited spaces. We didn't have contact with residents, but the parts that we saw looked very pleasant. It looked well-kept. It's assisted living and the staff that toured us was very knowledgeable and could answer all of our questions. We met with the dietician that was in charge, but they weren't very amicable. They weren't as friendly or welcoming there. The dietician talked a lot about their menus, how they're prepared and how she goes through a rotation of foods. It sounded like it was very nice, but I didn't have any experience with the food. The interior looked nice but the exterior was somewhat bland. There were a couple of apartments where the screens look like they had fallen out and hadn't been replaced but the interior looks nice.

We put my stepfather in Independence Court of Monroeville for a couple of weeks for respite. We had a good experience. They had a great staff. The place was clean; everything was very clean. They're pretty good. I didn't see any activities because my stepfather was bedridden, and he wasn't able to participate in any of them. I visited just about every day. He had a shared room with another patient. It had a bathroom, and each person had their own TV, a nightstand, and an area to put their clothes and stuff like that. It's a pretty nice facility. He has Alzheimer's and dementia, so he isn't really aware of a lot of things. I would tell others to just come in and talk to the staff, and once they see the people, they will definitely want to stay there.

I looked at Independence Court of Monroeville. They gave me a really nice tour of everything. They seemed to have a lot of activities for the older people, but then, my mother would never go. They had a lot for people that could get around and do things. I was impressed by that.

I have a loved one in this facility. Too many folks need too much care, which takes up the time of the few aides. I know they need to keep the beds filled, but as a resident's needs increase, they need to go to a nursing home vs. this assisted living facility.

The aids and staff are great, but they accept too many residents that need skilled nursing; this takes away from the other residents that should be there. Please be forthright as to what type of a facility that this truly is.

My aunt and uncle were in Independence Court, and they seemed to enjoy it when they were there. They had very good care there. They took advantage of all the programs that were offered. As far as I could tell, their dinners were suitable. My Uncle Jack was a very picky eater, and he did enjoy his meals. They had a nice dining room. They were together in a room, which was spacious. They had a table, a little fridge, and a sitting area. The staff was very friendly, professional, kind, and loving.

My father and his third wife have been in Independence Court for one year now. It was recommended to them by someone at the hospital. My father's wife has dementia and needs long-term care. She's the one that they're there for. My father doesn't really need to be there, but he's paying to be there with his wife because she would have to be in a nursing home if he wasn't with her. What appealed to me most with this facility was that they took couples. They would look out for them and make sure that they stay together. So this facility worked that out with us which I really appreciate. Right now, they're in a room, which is spacious enough for them. It's really expensive though. The staff does a pretty good job, but there's been times where I was hoping that they could be better. Nevertheless, we worked it out. My father's wife is not the easiest person to deal with, but they're patient with her. Food is good. They get to be served three meals a day. They have activities there. There are one to two activities a day or sometimes more.

Independence Court of Monroeville was a small facility with a courtyard. I visited the place and the location was nice. The staff were happy and courteous. The shared rooms were clean and they had a nice dining area.

This community has nurses on site for 24 hours per day. The staff are very friendly and the residents looked clean and happy. I certainly plan on moving mom there very soon.
