Evans' Retirement Center has been good. It's not great or really impressive, but it's been sufficient for the time that my mom's been there. People are nice. The staff is sufficient and okay. The environment is very quiet with not much activity. They have a TV room and a kitchen. The rooms are very basic with just a bed, TV, dresser, table, a couple of chairs, and maybe a bathroom in some.

Evans Retirement Center was fine. It was easy access to move around. It was ranch style, so my mom doesn't have to use the stairs. She will have a private room. It was undergoing renovation, and it had a recreation area and a lounge area. The whole place was clean, and the staff was nice.

Evan’s Retirement is a very home-like environment; it is not like institutionalizing someone. The staff is very caring, they did everything they could to make him feel comfortable there, and they were extremely helpful to me. When my brother was there, he didn’t have proper clothing to change his clothing on a regular basis and they just did his laundry more often until we could get in to his house and get some clothing. They literally have bent over backwards. The rooms are small, but they are nicely furnished and very clean. The other thing I really like is when you walk in the place, it is very clean and neat. It is not luxurious, but like I said, it’s very nice, and we are very happy. I think they only have a total of 20 beds, and the other people there have made him feel welcomed. I know they are very quick in giving me a juice to drink, and if somebody says I want a cookie and they are not on any particular diet, they serve them, and the food smells good. I don’t think they have lots of activities. They could use more activities, but they do have a very pretty garden and fountain, and the residents like to go out and enjoy that. As far as them going places, I don’t think they do much of that there. I would imagine they would have more trips, but other than that, he is very content, and I am amazed that he has gotten so used to it. I am very pleased with it.

Evans Retirement Center, as far as I’m concerned, should not even be in business. I don’t know how they got a license. The place was filthy, and it was so run down and dilapidated. It was terrible. I would not represent this at all. All the furniture was covered with sheets because it was so dilapidated. It was unbelievable. The rooms were old-fashioned, the carpets were all stained, the walls were terrible, the ceiling fans had so much dirt on them, and some of the ceilings were falling down. I was totally shocked when I saw this place.

My mother didn't like Evans Retirement Center. The rooms and toilets really need some upkeep. The mats and rugs are worn.
