My Mom has been at Normandy Farms Estates (NFE) for the past 9 years, so for me it is like my “home away from home”. It’s closer to where I live in Collegeville. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know the facility, some staff and residents from Independent Living, Assisted Living (AL), and now Long-Term Care (aka “Medical”). People seem very happy here. When my Mom started, she secured a freshly renovated 1 bedroom unit where she got to pick the colors of the walls, carpet, and appliances. She loved her new smaller apartment that we carefully furnished, with her car parked right outside. However, she wasn’t very good at maintaining her flower beds, but we managed to get some help with that. Her room was a long distance from the dining areas, so she got her exercise daily (we later got her a power chair). The food has been excellent, she’s made friends and she regularly participated in the book club and played cards/games. She also enjoyed frequent entertainment/performances from visiting professional as well as internal talent. When her needs changed after a fall, Assisted Living was very accommodating (although it is an older section of NFE). She had a lovely room overlooking a garden courtyard, they have their own dining area steps away from her room, and she received great medication management and home healthcare. Communication with me was very good. I felt comforted knowing that she was being regularly supervised by motivating staff. And they continued to encouraged her to participate in activities. She’s now in Long-Term Care, which is a recently renovated facility down the hall from Assisted Living. Her room is similar to AL, newer, but more wheelchair-friendly overlooking the main entrance. The entire facility is outstandingly beautiful – white with brightly colored pictures and lots of natural light. The staff is friendly and as with AL, communication is very good and they are very responsive. They coordinate regularly with me to set up transport for her doctor visits. This section also has its own Physical Therapy and a Beauty Salon. She still has access to the main facility Grill, formal dining area, lobby, etc, and she often still sees her friends from her prior living areas which is such a benefit of her being able to transition within the same community! Frankly, you couldn’t ask for a better continuing care senior facility than Normandy Farms Estates!

Normandy Farms Estates was in very good shape. The staff was very professional, very knowledgeable, and courteous. The rooms were very nicely decorated. We saw the dining rooms and a woodshop.

Normandy Farms Estates was wonderful. We liked it very much. The staff was very good, too. We didn't really have any complaints about any of that. The accommodations were all very nice. The public areas were beautiful. We had lunch there, and it was nice.

Normandy Farms Estates was pretty rural. It's close enough to a train station or the Turnpike to go down to Philadelphia. It's not remote, but it is in a rural setting. The rooms and the grounds were beautiful. The menu looked really nice. They had a pool as well, which I liked. They had dance lessons too. They had all the same stuff to keep you active and busy. I think the woman that showed us around was Kathy. She was certainly informative and pleasant enough, but just a little bit pushy. She said, "Well, you know, you should sell your house now. It's a really good time to sell." I just don't do well with that. I wanted to make up my own mind in my own time.

Normandy Farms Estates was very, very nice. They've got very nice people, and the Acts communities were very well run. We just decided we don't want to really go to one of them, and they're very expensive. We looked at something like a combo, which is a combination of two 1-bedroom units that they put together, so there were 2-bedroom, 2-bath. We also looked at a 3-bedroom. When you move in there, they redo the whole apartment for you. They have a pool, an exercise area, and a woodworking shop, I think.

My husband and I visited places in PA, FL and decided on the best place for us would be Normandy Farms Estates. It is very well run and the staff and the residents here are so very friendly. We love living here. It was hard leaving our house that we lived in so long but the staff here can help with the move and getting the home sold if needed. I knew I would miss my gardens most but I have a plot in the Community garden that I was able to bring some of my plants from my gardens here. The food is the best; always fresh and a wide choice of what to eat. There are many activities to join from health to cards and even movies. The library here is excellent with many new selections every month along with movies. We are so glad we have chosen this to be our new home.

Normandy Farms Estates's units were a little bit older, but they're currently updating. It's a larger property with more open spaces. There were different sizes of units available.

We chose Normandy Farms Estates because we liked the area. My wife was from that area. It had lots of apartments for senior citizens. They had all the amenities that everybody else had, and we liked it very much

My visit at Normandy Farms Estates was great. People are very welcoming and very willing to include you, and that was nice. I think the facility itself is very nice. There are several different kinds of apartments that you could get. The food is really good. They do different kinds of things. They have many committees that people are active in. They also have pool exercises and some fitness classes. They have lots of music activities and lectures.

Normandy Farm was very nice. I thought the person taking us around felt her place was very nice and didn't need to sell it as much and I didn't feel she was quite as gracious as some of the other people that took us around. I didn't like it quite as much as the others did. The rooms were very nice but for single bedrooms they do not have washer and dryer in the apartment but on each floor. They have activities for the residents.

My mother was a resident in one of the Acts Retirement Facilities called Normandy Farm in Blue Bell for 19 years. I was satisfied with the staff when she was there. One thing they can improve on is communication. If a resident is showing signs of not being able to stay independent in his/her home, they need to contact the family. They didn't do that. My mom didn't have the capacity to make those choices for herself. She has now moved to a skilled care.
