My mother is at Parkland Manor now. I like the location and the facility itself, but don't think there are enough workers there taking care of these people. We're still pretty new, and I haven't been there that much yet. The staff is helpful. They do paintings, play bingo, and cards. The layout is good, like the way they arranged the rooms, the dining room, and the living areas, except for, I haven't seen a patio type of place over there, which they may have or may not. I think it's also clean.

Parkland Manor was awful. When we walked into the main room, it looked like an industrial building. The walls were just concreted and there was an area up at the one end for watching television. There was a TV against the wall and then in front of it, there were about three couches facing each other, so they would have to turn their heads to watch the TV down there. We didn't like that. In that same room, there were tables set up and they looked like they were for eating. I asked them where the kitchen was, but they didn't have one. They had to bring food in from another facility. The one room we saw was very cozy with the lady that lived in there but some of them were just not. We walked down the hall and there was a ladder in the hall. There were boxes around on the sides of the hall, so you had to watch where you were walking. It was hospital-like. It wasn't homey. I wouldn't put my husband there at all. We had one woman that had us and her father owns all of The Manors. She seemed competent. I don't have much more to say than that, because we didn't interact with her other than for her to tell us about the place. It was less expensive, but that goes along with it. You get what you pay for. When you pulled up to the building, it wasn't nice outside. The room was right at the edge of the building and when you stepped outside, you were about three feet from the parking lot, and there were very few places to park. There was no landscaping. No grass.

I think the person that should have walked me through Parkland Manor happened to be out on the day of my tour. So, they didn't spend as much time with me to review things. The person I talked to was very pleasant though. It's an older facility, but the rooms were a nice size. I was happy with that, as well as its cleanliness. It was great. Residents were out in the common rooms and doing activities. It just hadn't been updated a whole lot compared to the other ones that I looked at.

Parkland Manor seemed very nice, warm, and inviting. The people there were nice. The setup was very nice. The rooms were nice. I can't really say anything bad about the place. The person who took us around was very friendly and very knowledgeable. They don't take the residents out of the memory care center. Everything was in that memory care center. The dining area was just a room with tables in it. They are pretty much an all-purpose area. It was essentially a locked down unit. Their activity room was their eating room, and they had a small outdoor patio for the memory care. They offered haircare services. They had a beautician that comes in.

Parkland Manor was set up differently than all the other places that I went to. Each apartment had a door to the outside that you could go out. It was only one floor. Everything was very convenient and really, really close. The residential rooms were right off of the activity room and the dining hall, which was nice. If you're looking for something a little bit more convenient as far as dining and activities, that place was really nice. The person that gave me a tour me was very nice and very accommodating as well.

Parkland Manor is very new and very clean. They seemed to be very attentive. My mother has only been there a little while so she's trying to settle in. She's having a little difficulty with that and they seemed to be handling it very well. It's very pleasant and bright. They have nice rooms. I think the cost is relatively reasonable. Everyone that I've come in contact with has been very helpful. They seem to be taking very good care of the residents and everything. I only saw her with one meal and she ate most of that, but she's really picky. She's in the assisted care port at this point in time. Right now, she's being naughty. She's trying to sneak extra snacks and stuff, but they've been handling it really well. I haven't come across any real issues yet, but I would say a five-star rating would depend on how well they handle my mother, and so far they seem to be doing OK, but we'll see how it goes. I know they have activities, but I haven't seen them. I know my mother isn't participating yet, she's just observing, but they tried to get her to participate so they work very hard to trying to get her to acclimate to the situation. The staff seems to be very caring, active, and trying to acclimate the residents to the facility. They probably have their hands full with my mother. They were very cooperative and helpful. They allowed us to go in and set up the room for her, like adding her things before she came out of the hospital.

Parkland Manor was terrible. The rooms were very nice, but the atmosphere and the whole look of it was not. I wouldn't let my mother go there. All the rooms were new, very nice, and nice sized. The dining area was like one great room where they had the dining and common area, and it seemed very dark and all the rooms were off of it. It was not appealing.

My mother as been there for 2 months and I’ve been pretty impressed from what I have seen so far. I usually visit her during the day and the first shift crew is great! Very friendly and always there to help and keep her happy. She absolutely loves the day shift aide that takes care of her. Which I couldn’t agree more. She’s very good with my mother (who can be a little bit of a hand full at times) but she always seems to be able to talk to her and get her clam and smiling. Always a good positive attitude and smile that makes you feel welcomed. All the staff there are just so friendly and that helps give me a piece of mind. The building my mother my stays at is very well kept and up. So far so good! Keep it up parkland manor.
