If you value your Freedom or Money, Do Not Move here! The Front Office is Very Oppressive, and makes decisions as they see fit, without recourse to reasonable consideration. They have a key to your door, and can walk in anytime they feel like it. They moniter anyone coming in/out. which may be good, as they have Hobo's Camped Out just over the fence, that steal anything they can! God Only knows what is put in the food, which is served Very Slowly! Do not try to sell anything here, as someone will complain to the front office, irreguardless of what it is or the price. At $4500+ Per Month, be ready to kiss your money Good Bye! You don't have to believe me, take their FREE tour, and then Stay A Few Nights For FREE & see just how bad it really is for yourself!

My parents' mental health really suffered at Terpening Terrace. They were very contained in their thousand square foot apartment. Their meals were all delivered and even when things loosened up with social distancing, they did not open the dining room. They could not leave campus and come back without a 14-day quarantine in their apartment. They took their rules much too far and it became a mental health issue for my parents. They really felt captive to the point that they never hung up any of their pictures. When COVID-19 hit, my brother and I shared housing them for 11 weeks. We decided it would be safer to take them out of the group facility and to have less interaction with people. They decided to go back to Terpening Terrace to decide where their new place to live was going to be, but they did not enjoy it. They loved the head of the dining room and the maintenance man, but they could not abide the manager. They felt her to be very unapproachable, almost harsh, and they didn't feel like they were ever listened to with her. Their room was lovely. They had two bedrooms, one was very large and was very adequate. Their living room space was smaller. We helped them move in because the pandemic had not started yet at the time, but after the pandemic set in, we couldn't visit them at all. They had not made any efforts to put together any kind of scheduled visits. It looked like they had a lot going on from the schedules and things posted in the elevator.

Terpening Terrace was very well maintained and offered full amenities on-site, like transportation. They were in a good location in walking distance to shopping areas. The apartments were very nice and had full kitchens available if requested.

Terpening Terrace is the best facility I've seen, and I like it. I like the cleanliness and the dining room. The price is a little high. I like the way the rooms are situated and their size. Each room had a refrigerator and a regular people's kitchen with a stove and a microwave. The building had two floors. The layout of the rooms was good. I liked it. The facility had quite a few activities. They would take the residents to the stores if they wanted to go shopping.

This facility always seemed fairly nice. The atmosphere was inviting and nice. My friend seemed to like it okay, although she expressed some dislike for the food. As much as I interacted with them (which wasn't a lot) The staff was usually pretty nice, although there was one lady who was never very friendly to me. I'm not sure if she was rude to everyone, but she always seemed to turn her nose up whenever I saw her. I have not been to very many other retirement communities but this one seemed okay. I also played piano there a couple of times when I was younger. There do seem to be some nice activities, and the housecleaning was helpful to my friend. Sometimes she complained of being bored, but I don't think she took advantage of a lot of the possibilities. All in all it seemed like a fine, run of the mill, sort of the place. Nothing amazing, but a fairly nice place to live.
