Mom has moved to Holiday Sheldon Oaks. The entry process was very easy with Chad, the intake person. He dealt with Mom really well. She loved the food and the dining part. She has found everybody very helpful. Whenever we call with questions, we're always given the time that we need. Her apartment is very nice. She has a corner unit and it's very spacious. We're quite happy with it. This particular apartment has a lot of storage so that was nice for her. She's able to bring more furniture than some of the other smaller units. The facility is beautiful. They just repainted everything, brought in new furnishings, and redoing the beauty shop. It's very well done. I have eaten there twice and I was very pleased with everything. It was very good. The front desk and the manager have been very nice and very helpful, too.

I visited Holiday Sheldon Oaks. I liked the size of the units, especially the two-bedroom units. They're very spacious and they've got a lot of deck space. I liked that. I had a little interaction with the staff and it was very good. At one point, I expressed interest in some of the artwork that they had there that was done by one of the residents, so they took me to that resident and introduced me and we had a nice visit. It went well. The staff was great. They have a beautiful outdoor space, one of the best outdoor spaces I've seen. It's a smaller place and they don't have as many residents. They've just renovated everything, so it's pretty nice. They had a small exercise room with only about three or four machines, but that's probably all they need in a place like that. Other places I've seen had more equipment and larger rooms. The activity rooms were all a little bit smaller, but then they had a smaller population too. One thing I disliked was they had the cheapest washing and drying machines I have ever seen. I've got a very nice washer and dryer. It does refresh and de-wrinkle and things like that. These are just old, cheap washer and dryer. They should have the new machines and the top-of-the-line equipment in places like that.

My friend moved into Holiday Sheldon Oaks. We chose it because it is one of the more affordable ones, it has everything he needs, and the food is good. He has a big room with a big balcony. The little path to walk around there is nice. They have a weight room and they have a big grand piano there. The general manager is very nice. He was the one who personally gave us a tour of the place when we first visited.

Holiday Sheldon Oaks was super friendly and very welcoming. They were renovating the rooms and their renovations were really nice. What I really liked was their outdoor space. It was a nice large area to go outside. It's protected and it's private. There were residents mingling and engaged with each other, and so it seemed like it was a really nice community. I looked at the one-bedroom apartment and it seemed very nice. They clean up really well after residents leave. They were able to really go in and clean it and fix it and put new things in. I think that's so important so that new residents coming in have a new clean space that's their own.

My sister-in-law is at Holiday Sheldon Oaks. They take excellent care of the facility. It looks sharp, bright, and very attractive. They developed nice shrubbery, trees, and a lawn. The apartment was really clean and looked updated to me. They said they're going to make further improvements next year, but I liked the layout. It was simple but clean. The only staff I met was the salesman. He was very professional and forthcoming. As a matter of fact, there was no pressure. It was a good experience. They can play games, attend religious services, and watch TV together. They have lots of really good places to just hang out and visit. My sister-in-law said the food was okay. It seems like it's well done regarding a variety of eating limitations or requirements. The dining area was beautiful. There's a piano occasionally that people volunteer or someone comes in specifically to play. It's a nice setup with tables and chairs where people sit down and are served.

I'm in Holiday Sheldon Oaks. The apartment I'm in is a lot smaller than the house I moved out of, but I found that it was pretty easy for me to change over. I couldn't keep up with the demands of my house and my yard anymore. It was way too big for one person and this is nice. I don't have to cook. The meals are all provided as part of my rent as are the utilities and other services. They have residents that welcome new people and answer questions for them. The management, of course, checks regularly when you're new. I am always greeted by everybody. I've been wearing my nametag and most of the people here wear theirs too just because some of the residents remember names better than others. I think it's a nice courtesy. It helped with conversations and greetings. The mail is delivered indoors. This is a secure building that locks down at 8:00. We all have keys to the outside doors if we need to go out and get something from our car, for example, or if we come in late from shopping. It's very easy. The doors have handicapped access. The meal service is in a nice dining room with the tables all set. We have some choices for each meal, so that makes it nice. I'm kind of a picky eater, and so I appreciate it because there's always something that I like. If you don't feel like coming down to the dining room or if you're ill, or in my case, I wrenched my back moving in, I requested the meal delivery in my room, which they're glad to do. Either you can eat in the dining room or you can have it delivered to you or you can have it packed up in a Styrofoam container if you want to come down and grab it, like maybe if you have company or there's something you want to watch on TV or something like that. I like the laundry room and there are a number of them. I think there are two on each floor, and they're free, well-lighted new machines and there's even ironing board, iron, and starch for folks that still do that kind of wardrobe maintenance. There's an elevator, which is wonderful. There's plenty of parking. If someone wants to visit, they can be assured that there's going to be a place to park their car. The building itself has a nice paved walking path that goes around the whole perimeter of the building, so you can get a good walk every day and not ever have to leave the ground. There's a fitness room here that's modest, but I had heard from management that they're expecting improvement. There's a computer, a couple of TV lounges for movie nights and football, and there's a large game area for card playing, for puzzles, and for playing billiards and things like that. I've seen a lot of the residents with small dogs and it's very nice and very helpful for seniors to be able to keep their pets. The attitude of the management here is very pleasant and very happy to help with any kind of resident question. I understand that there is a new resident handbook that's being finished up and it's going to be distributed next month. There's housekeeping once a week. They give you one of those alarms that you can wear around your neck that if you fall or if there's an emergency, you can push the button and people respond to you. It is good if you're on vacation out of the country or anywhere you are. It's nice to know that if I did decide to go to Canada or Mexico or maybe to Europe, it would work if something happened and I needed help. They advertised transportation, but they're looking right now for a driver and the search is taking a while.

We went to Holiday Sheldon Oaks. The facility was very nice. The staff that gave us the tour was very friendly. But, it just didn't fit our needs. That was like the first place that we went and looked at. As far as activities go, those were pretty extensive. They had cocktail hours and they did like karaoke nights, and they brought in a pianist to play the piano at certain times of the week. But again, it was for a community of more independent people. They don't require as much assistance. They had a salon. They had a pool table. They had a game room upstairs where you could do puzzles, board games, and they also had a library. The outside grounds were less contained. I noticed that a lot of the residents were just kind of free to come and go as they wanted. There was a little shopping center that was nearby there, and I remember it was raining that day and a lot of the residents were coming back from the store with things that they had just walked over to the shopping center and bought. I like that. I thought that that was convenient. The location was really good.

Sheldon Oaks independent living was absolutely lovely. It's very pretty and very well-kept. The apartment I saw was very well-done. Steve, the person who assisted me during the visit, was very nice. He was very accommodating and gave me a lot of information. I looked at the dining area, they weren't serving food at the time, and it was also very nice and very clean. During my visit, there were some people playing cards, which I like playing too. For amenities, I saw that they have a library and a salon.

My first impression of Sheldon Oaks was not good at all. The first thing I saw was the restroom and it was really bad, there was a lot of stuff piled on the floor in the hallway. The lady that toured us was nice, but their rooms weren't as nice as the others I looked at. They need to update their rooms, which I think they're working on, and they need to make sure of their cleanliness. They have a nice courtyard. It's right on the main road and right next to groceries and other department stores, it's located right in town.

I went to tour Sheldon Oaks. The general manager was amazing. She knew everybody's name, which was pretty cute to watch. The people living there looked very happy with what they were doing. It was a little bit more limited because it is an independent living, but they allow others to come and help with care, so that was nice. The room seemed fine and adequate and in a good setting. Everything was clean. It seemed like they were running a good home. They did have a common kitchen area where the guests can do what they love to do. The staff mentioned some residents like candy-making and cooking classes, so that was nice to have a separate area where that was allowed. The building itself could use a little upgrading but it was kept up nicely. The decorations and such seemed a little old. They also need to be transparent as far as what the costs are. They weren't able to provide that during the tour.

Sheldon Oaks was best suited for our pets. Since they had to replace the carpeting anyway, they agreed to put in wood flooring for us. There's outside access so that we could let our pets out and we could fence in a little area for them. It just made it good for the pets. The rooms were kind of small. All of the places had small rooms, but they're nicely laid out and there's a lot of daylight. They offered three meals a day. They have activities when COVID isn't rampant. They offer trips with their bus. They're not too far from shopping. They're in a good location in Eugene. They still have transportation to appointments and such. They don't have as much going on outside, but they still have a lot of activities inside going on. The residents seemed content. The staff was excellent. Their menu looked pretty good. It's an older building, but they keep it up well.

Sheldon Oaks was OK. They have outdoor spaces like sitting areas. They were gradually opening up their dining room, but they were still bringing their meals into the residents' rooms. The apartment's layout was OK, too. They only have the kitchenettes, which was acceptable because they offer three meals a day, but the kitchenette was very teeny tiny, and the refrigerator as well. You could not put anything in it. My mom likes to have ice-cream cones sometimes, and she would not even be able to put a box of ice-cream cones in the freezer. The only thing was the staff did not not ask about my mother or what her likes and everything were. They did not want to really get to know her, but they were very nice and very informative.

We toured the Sheldon Oaks and we thought that was very nice. It was an excellent tour. We liked the rooms. My wife and I went on the tour and we're trying to find a home for my mom. It was very light and bright inside. The apartments that we looked at were very nice and clean and one of them even had a deck outback, so that was very nice. The staff wasn't really prepared for us showing up. I guess they had a last minute opening for Covid vaccinations, so they were loading their residents onto a bus to take them to get vaccinated. We had to do a tour with somebody who doesn't normally do tours, but it still was a very nice tour and a very nice facility. They had activities for the residents, they had a little workout area, they had one gal that was setting up for a group to come in and do something, and they play different little games. They had a monthly activity list they gave us. They followed up with me a couple of times. The building was nice. It was very bright and open and had some really nice places like sunrooms.

We're taking my mother to Sheldon Oaks. It was clearly the one for her and her interests, plus the apartment available fit her to a T. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The outdoor spaces are quite lovely. The location is perfect for family visiting, and taking care of her. Its central location just worked for our family.

I would recommend Sheldon Oaks highly. The food and service have been fine. I only have two issues with them, one of which is the beauty salon which I think takes advantage of elderly people by overcharging the market rates, and the other issue is their showers in the rooms because they're not designed well for someone who needs a stool in the shower. They have a seat at both ends so you have to set the shower stool right in the middle, and my sister-in-law can't bend over to wash her feet because they're so close to the end that she bangs her head on the shower seat if she bends over, so the shower itself is poorly designed and inappropriate. The staff is very courteous, kind and take good care of their clients.

My experience at Sheldon Oaks has been very good so far. We have very good activities, like yesterday we went to a pumpkin farm, with games, and so on. The meals are good, and all of the staff members are very friendly. The apartments here are very clean. Everything is very good.

My mother moved into Sheldon Oaks. It is a better deal than anywhere else. The staff members are incredible. They are very good about checking on my mom if she doesn't show up. She is having a hard time transitioning because it is not what she wanted, but they try to transition her. They do laundry once a week and they clean once a week. They serve three meals a day. They have people who come in and play music.

They were very helpful and very nice at Sheldon Oaks, and our tour was good. The facility was newer and had more trees than the other one, but not as many well-established units. The rooms looked good. It's a very large place, so the rooms were quite a ways out, and the ones they had available were very far out. I didn't think my aunt could walk that far. Other than that, the rooms were well-designed and well-maintained. I saw the amenities (like the library), and the place where they were playing and doing jigsaw puzzles and things like that. I did not see any of their trips or see what their buses were like.

The units were too small at Sheldon Oaks, and they have no virtual storage at all. The staff was pleasant, and the dining area looked pleasant. The price was probably one of the lowest, but it was not a good value because it was not a place that I could live comfortably. It's a good location.

Everybody at Sheldon Oaks was very nice. It was a great looking facility, but we couldn’t afford to pay out-of-pocket for my father-in-law, and he didn’t have any Medicaid. They made me an appointment and met me at the front desk. I got to meet three different people who were very friendly, gracious, and kind. The facility was clean. They showed me a room that was open and available, plus they took me upstairs and showed me a couple of different room options. The lady who showed me around was very friendly. She answered my questions, gave me a tour, walked me upstairs and downstairs, and told me about their meal programs and the shuttles that they offered back and forth. She gave me the menu that they would be serving and invited me to come and have a meal there with my father-in-law to show him around and allow him to meet the residents. I did not need to take them up on that, but it was great. I met housekeepers and residents. It was nice, but we couldn’t afford it.

My brother in law is in Sheldon Oaks, and we are moving him to another facility. It’s very good as far as the facility is concerned, but it doesn’t meet his needs. The food is not as good as I would have expected. The rooms were of good size and clean, but they weren’t as fresh looking as the other facility I went to. The staff was friendly, but they didn’t have the care in his room that he needed.

My visit at Sheldon Oaks was wonderful. I could stay with my sister, and they brought a bed in for me. It was just very delightful. They had good food and nice, helpful management. They have two computers, exercise, Bible study, and have speakers come in, like a hearing aid specialist and an insurance person. Residents could go or not, and they are very unobtrusive and don’t pry into your personal life or anything like that.

I liked everything at Sheldon Oaks, but it was too expensive. It was out of our price range. They seemed to have everything. Honestly, it was a perfect situation, other than it was out of my mother's price range. The staff was very helpful; he immediately showed me to apartments that were available and followed up with me.

My brother is at Sheldon Oaks. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. He has a very large studio apartment. He has a living area, where he watches TV. He has a balcony with a nice view of the courtyard. It is a very bright place. One of the reasons why we chose Sheldon Oaks was because of it's proximity to businesses and to parks. Even though there are a lot of activities that are scheduled for people, my brother living there doesn't need those. He goes for long walks everyday. He has his favorite bar that he goes to that is close by.

Sheldon Oaks was fine. They took me around and showed me the dining room. I have a friend of mine that used to work on Sheldon Oaks. That's why I went there -- so I can have an insight on the inner workings of some of the places. That helps in knowing where I kind of did and didn't want to go. I heard good things about Sheldon Oaks, and that probably would have been my number two choice. I kind of grew up around the area so I have a lot of friends whose parents have gone through there.

I liked Sheldon Oaks quite well. They had 3 meals a day. They had a nice apartment where I was. It had a nice view with lots of lights. They had a laundry room on my floor. They had friendly people, and I thought they were accommodating. The food was good, but it was too starchy and too fattening; I really couldn't lose weight there. They had activities like exercises, bingo, and little trips. They had bus service if you had to go somewhere. They were in a good neighborhood because you could walk over to lots of different stores.

I visited Sheldon Oaks for my mother-in-law. Considering what it is, I thought this facility was well done. I thought it was warm, inviting, and clean. The staff was kind and courteous. They appeared very helpful. My overall experience with this community is comprehensive. I was very satisfied with my visit. I thought that it would be the perfect place for my mother-in-law. The living environment that stands out to me is the convenient location. Sheldon Oaks was not as pricey, but it also was not quite opulent as some other options. However, I thought it was more an affordable option.

This place is beautiful. My grandmother is a resident going on 3 years. I have to say, the staff is amazing. The facility is beautiful. The only draw back is the food. The chef should put as much effort in his food as he does his smoking habit.

Sheldon Oaks was very nice. The only problem was that it was very expensive. They wanted you to pay 2 months' cost for deposit. They showed us the room that was being painted, and it looked fine. We ate there, and the food was good, and the dining room was nice. They showed us where the activities were, and they had an area to play games. They had a schedule for all of the activities.

I lived in Sheldon Oaks for three months. They really did work to make you feel comfortable. It was really nicely situated. You could walk to two grocery stores, a post office, a library, and a swimming pool -- any place you wanted to go to was very close. They had a very nice bus arrangement that provided lots of rides. I enjoyed their activities that incorporated community involvement. I was working with the activities director to bring children in. However, I was disappointed in management and I didn't feel they took my concern seriously enough.

Sheldon Oaks is very high class. There are lots of activities. I get a card from them once in a while with a list of activities to come and join them. They have a beauty shop, somebody who comes in to give a pedicure and activities going on every day. They have a very nice food service and food was very good too. Last time I was there, I had Jambalaya. It was last Spring when I listened to music during their Jazz night. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. A major plus is it's a very easy walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants and doctors. You don't need to cross a major street to reach these places.

Sheldon Oaks looks nice. It is very well-kept and pretty looking. Everybody there is pleasant. I had lunch there and it was fine. I saw one of their studio apartments. It is very small for me. It has one room and one bath but no kitchen area at all! That's something that turned me off. I'm a cooker and I like to make my own food. At that place, you have to go to the dining area if you want to eat. That's not what I want for myself. I'm sure that's very good for a lot of other people but not for me. Also I'm not a communal person and I don't do well with some other people around. I just do really well by myself; however, I would recommend this place to others if that type of set-up is what they want.

The community felt very much like a regular neighborhood. My grandfather was very happy and independent there and he was still able to get the extra care he needed. His wife lived nearby and he had a nurse visit to take care of things he was too old to do. When I visited, the old man cried with joy because he was able to take his medicine and get sponge baths at a very upscale neighborhood in which he wasn't embarrassed to be seen by his grandchildren. Once or twice he managed to get the energy up to show us his fiddle. We played with it all day long and had a wonderful time, running and dancing to the music and him chasing after us with his fiddle. He loved music very much, was a supporter of musical education for youngsters, and was very energetic even late in life when it came to classical music.
