Homestead of Owasso is a wonderful well kept facility. Everyone from administration to staff are very friendly, warm & welcoming. My mom's care there has been excellent. They go above and beyond to help each resident and treat them like family. My mom absolutely loved living there. I highly recommend Homestead of Owasso.

I'm not real happy with Homestead of Owasso. A loved one of mine lives there and it seems like they're always understaffed, and it seems like some of their staff have a bit of an attitude. Also, I have not seen any activities in the memory care. The accommodations are fine though, and I think the meals are adequate. They have a courtyard and two central living areas (one in the assisted living and one in the memory care area) with TVs and stuff. I think the facility is fine, but the rest of it is not so much.

The Homestead of Owasso is fine. They have bingo and take the men out once a week to eat breakfast. They watch movies and have a garden between the buildings. The food looks OK to me, but my father doesn’t care for it much because it’s a lot of chicken. The amenities and staff are fine.

We did look at The Homestead of Owasso. The problem with them is that they weren?t moving very fast, but I think they are pretty nice. They are a bigger institution, and it seemed very clean. We didn?t like the way the apartment was laid out for my mom. It was fine, but not for my parents. I hear nothing but good things from other people about this place.

My mother in law has been in homestead for almost a year. The turnover rate of staff seems high. She is happy and we are know she is being taken care of. Our only concern is lack of activities. Virtually don't exist so the days get long.

The Homestead of Owasso is clean, and the caregivers are very attentive and very caring. My experience has been that they are open with the family. Communicate with them, and they will work with you. The atmosphere is very bright and very open, and they occasionally take the residents out. There is an open garden area or a patio where they had a picnic this summer and there were picnic tables and umbrellas, so it was really nice out there and most of the memory unit residents really enjoyed it. They also have their own patio where they can go out freely to the outdoors. The caregivers get to know the residents, which is a plus to me. They know them, they know what they like and what they don't like, and they know when they are having a good day or a bad day. They may not know why, but they realize it may not be a good day for them. The staff members know how to work with them, they keep them active, and each one of them knows the residents. The apartment my mother has was basically set up the way similar to her apartment in Oklahoma City. There wasn't that much change in the way it was set up, and she could have an apartment she didn't have to share with someone else.

The Homestead of Owasso was very nice. It was clean. It was pretty much the same as the other facility. It was a much larger area than what we had seen before. The rooms seemed clean. We did look at a two-bedroom and it seemed a little bit larger. It had a small kitchenette in it. They have housekeeping there. They also have a laundry facility. They offer all kinds of activities and stuff.

My father has been at Homestead of Owasso since the 1st of December. My first impression of it was that I was really impressed with it. I was also impressed with the layout that they have for the rooms. The rooms are really nice. Overall, I really like it. I like the location being here amongst his family, so it is close by. The staff is good. They do really good. They seem really caring. I have never had any problems with any of them. My father seems to like most of them. Every time I have been there to visit, he gets along with all of them well. Overall, I would rate them a four, mainly because of the activities. I think they need to engage their residents more in their activities. Though I think it may have to do with their residents and how they want to participate, but I think they should encourage them more to be out and about and to socialize.

The Homestead of Owasso appears to be a clean, bright, safe environment for the residents. Our family's experience showed that the majority of the staff was very caring and protective of the residents. Maintenance issues were always promptly addressed, and the overall feeling is that of a nice upper middle-class "home-like" atmosphere. Touches such as crown moldings, wall-to-wall carpets and kitchenettes add to the overall feeling. Parking is typically adequate for visitors, except on holidays. The west side of the building is for assisted living residents, and the east side of the building is a locked unit for Alzheimers/Dementia patients. Amenities include home-style meals, a fireplace and piano in the main lobby, a beauty parlor, and a courtyard garden that is accessible to residents.

Our father is a resident of the Owasso facility. We are his only family and the 4 of us kids couldn't be happier with his care. Each person we have come in contact with could not be more loving to his needed, and believe me there are many. We all feel very blessed to have this home caring for him and would recommend it to anyone having to make this difficult decision. They are professional yet have loving hearts for all their residents. Shannon, Stacy, Dana, Wendy, Brandy, Maryann...i could go on and on. THANK YOU!!!

Extremely poor care, NO activities exist, persons sit around in wheelchairs doing NOTHING. They think ice cream is the best thing in the day, since they do NOTHING. Also the doctors don't pay attention and the medical personnel is a joke. They dont even know how to put a band aid on an injury or attend to medical records.

It's amazing how people are using this web site for revenge after being terminated or given a bill. I have been in the health care field for 20+ years as an administrator, a director, and a clinician. I went and looked at this place for myself, but unlike the average person I asked to meet the administrator "Jody", the Regional Director "Joe" the nursing staff, the therapy staff, and a few of the residents talked to me as well. This is a great team they truly care about the people who live there and are amazing individuals. I would not only trust them with my family but with my care. What a great group of people.

Current management (2010) is inept. Understaffed, Staff is undertrained. Too expensive for services provided. Staff tries very hard and are very nice and caring. Moving my parents out.
