Rooms were nice, cheerful and homey. It was void of the normal institutional look . The food was nutritious and the food staff very accommodating. The area was always clean and inviting. Nursing and support staff were long tenured and very caring. Management staff were problem solvers and easy with which to work. The experience our family had with this staff was exceptional.

We looked at Broken Arrow Nursing Home. It seemed to be a good place, but the only problem was with COVID, and I've got three sisters who aren't vaccinated, so that was the problem. They couldn't come in without being vaccinated; the COVID kind of shut us out of that. I thought the room looked fine. Everything looked like a nice place. They're good people. They seemed to be very accommodating and answered all of our questions. The person who assisted me was very good. The director was very good.

Broken Arrow Nursing Home has been very good, and we've been very happy with it. My mother has settled in better than I thought she would. One big reason we placed her there is security. They have hand-painted murals along the hallways, so it looks more like a beautiful senior center than a nursing home. It didn’t have that hospital kind of feel. They allowed us to decorate her room with things from her home, and she has adapted really well because of that.

My wife is at Broken Arrow Nursing Home. The people are getting very good care, and they have enough staff. However, the place is very old and kind of run-down, and they don’t have any single rooms available, so they have to share a room with another person. I thought their pricing was a bit high for the facilities provided. They don’t provide transportation for their patients, so if they have a doctor’s appointment somewhere, they have the patients’ caregivers arrange transportation and pay for that on their own, which is a negative as far as I am concerned.

My father was in this nursing home in 2016 for two months before his death. It was a terrible experience for both him and the family. The meals were awful. They very seldom sent what was shown on the board for the day. They must have gotten a great deal on pasta because it was used every way imaginable. The meals were often cold and unedible. His room had a private bathroom which was almost impossible to use due to overwhelming sewer gas smell in it. We had to keep the door closed at all times in order for the room itself not to smell. Luckily he only used the bedside toilet. We had to ask them to spray for bugs once in the bathroom also. Out of the entire staff there were only a small handful that truly seemed to care about being there. There were a small few that really did take care of dad while they were on shift and we were truly grateful to them. Otherwise it took forever to get any assistance. Once with Dad nearly falling out of bed, myself trying to hold onto him and screaming for help it took a very long time for anyone to come to my assistance. I then looked out the door at the nurses station and there were four of them just sitting there playing on the computer and their phones. The final blow came when Dad did pass away they called the wrong nursing home to come for him. We had gone to the administrators office and indicated that we wanted to change the funeral home from the one they referred us to and they never bothered to change the information sheet. The funeral home that came had been terrible to us and we sent them away and had to wait for another one to come. It was truly a horrific day for all of us. Never would I suggest anyone to take a family member to this horrible place.

The staff at Broken Arrow Nursing Home is very caring, very affectionate to the people that are there. They serve them three hot meals a day, nothing is microwaved or frozen. They have a salon and all women can get whatever they want and have their hair done. They shower and bathe them every day. My mother-in-law is been there since August and has become more social with other residents. She shares her room, it's cozy and comfortable. They have hot breakfast, hot lunch, at dinner, when I was there, she had homemade vegetable soup. The facility's been there since the 50s.
