Park Vista of Youngstown was awesome. All the amenities that they have were excellent. It's very well kept and it's very nice around the entire place. I love it. I just hope my dad loves it. The person took me around everything. Everything was so nice and clean. The staff said that if dad wants to move into one of the places, then it'll be repainted. The one we saw was already repainted and recarpeted, and I liked the place. They're very friendly and helpful. They gave me lots of information and they gave me the folder. They said that if they had to, they would work with my dad on the price also. I think the menu was awesome, and I think my dad's gonna like it also. He's a chef though, so he's probably going to want to cook for himself a lot of times. They were getting ready for a pizza party or something like that when we were there. The rooms were pretty spacious for one person.

I toured Park Vista of Youngstown. The assisted living was too constricting and the independent living, well, my mom would have been too free, but it was a very nice place. The independent living was too independent, but they were beautiful units with nice views because there's a park across the street. They have a pool there, but my mom needed more care than that. Then on the other side, the assisted living was almost like a glorified hospital ward, but she didn't need that kind of care. She needed a little bit more than independent living was able to offer. The staff that walked me through was amazing. They had a gift bag for us. It was so cute. I didn't take my mom to that one. The apartments were very bright. Because that's an old building, the only thing my mom probably wouldn't have liked was that every apartment had its own air conditioning. You have an air-conditioner and it was up to you to turn it on and off. The facility itself is beautiful. It's like part of a park; it's beautiful. The staff was very nice, too. It's like part of a park, they own a lot of lands, so you could have your own little garden. There's a plot there and it's all divided off and you could put whatever you wanted in. I thought that was nice. It's right by a hospital, so the location was also really good.

Park Vista of Youngstown had some wonderful facilities. The staff was very nice, accommodating, and very friendly, and the place was very impressive. The room had a great view, the dining facilities looked appetizing, and they had a broad array of activities, like movies and meetings. They also had a pool. It seemed to be a very sociable place.

I visited Park Vista of Youngstown on multiple occasions because they have community programming. They'll have educational experiences and music experiences. I had taken my mother-in-law to their programs for other elderly people who are considering Park Vista as an option. They let her know that they had programs that she might be interested in. They have speakers come in and music, things like that. They kind of try to tie into the senior community in the area to make everyone more comfortable when they have to eventually move there, which is the idea for mother-in-law. When you walk in there, you feel a freshness and a liveliness that you might not get elsewhere. I have not experienced it elsewhere. The staff is fantastic, friendly, and accommodating. The place has a great feel. The rooms were well-maintained, nice and clean, move-in ready, but without the sterile, hospital feeling. My mother-in-law had several meals there and was very pleased with the options they have. If I remember correctly, you could go to your room or you could also come down to the dining area if you want to. It's centrally located, so it's close to downtown and it's right directly across the street from Wick Park, which is a nice place for people to visit. It's so close so if you want to get nice tall trees and see the squirrels and birds, that's a good part. The facility itself has hairdressers and all of the things that you would want, they're right there on site. My mother-in-law shares a lot of stories of how they had a big sale coming up at Park Vista, she goes to those. There are several activities there, it's a very active place. If it's a person who still wants to be engaged with the community, still wants to be involved, active, and energetic, then that's the place to go. I thought they had great amenities but the thing that I found most impressive is just their connection to the community. It has a very good reputation, their programming is just terrific. I just think it's the premiere in Youngstown.

When my husband gets to be that far along in his little journey, Park Vista is probably where we would choose. First of all, we have people from our church that are there. It’s a completely different style of place. It’s a lot older, and the décor is very much like the inside of an old English tavern with the heavy dark wood paneling and the old elegance of the actual place. The people were very nice. Everybody that we talked to was extremely friendly. If we were to move together, we definitely would move into Park Vista.

There were a lot of people at Park Vista. They had a lot of enrichment programs and different kinds of units and were close to the college. They had independent apartments right next door to the assisted living with services. They were beautiful units. They had turned some of the units into one huge unit with two bedrooms, two kitchens, and two bathrooms. The one we saw was only a one-bedroom with one beautiful living room and a small dining room. The drawback is that it's not in the best area of Youngstown. When you come here to live, you're not going out of the building without help. It's not a place for walking around.

My wife was in Park Vista for six weeks, and she is back home now. I don't have any problem with the place. I'd take her back there again. The reason I chose it was because I had an operation, and I went there for rehab. They had a place for my wife to stay, and they had what they call the sweetheart deal, which was less cost for me. Also, while she was there, she did some outpatient rehab herself, and I was satisfied. The staff were very good, accommodating, and friendly. They were perfect for me. The food was very good, too. I certainly would recommend them.

Impressed with the facikities in this senior independent living building/community. The ability for residents to live independently but access services (non-medical) as needed at a reasonable rate is a nice benefit.

We toured Park Vista. It was an excellent facility, but it was terribly expensive. They also have a one-bedroom apartment and probably even more activities for the residents.

When I first walked into Park Vista, I was greeted by the receptionist that pointed me in the right direction to see a friend of the family. When I got off the elevator to the 2nd floor, I was very impressed with the "luxuries" of the place. I saw a fish tank, numerous couches, and televisions. It was at lunch time that I went and the nurses were delivering the lunches. The food looked appetizing and something that I would have eaten myself. Overall, I was impressed!
