Kingston Residence of Sylvania is fine. It's not too bad of a place, and it's about an hour and a half from me. My mother's apartment is clean, nice, and we've had no problems. The people who work there that I've seen have been fine, but the COVID thing started shortly after she moved, and I have not been able to go in. They come in and do some crafts with her. The dining room is fine, typical, and it is nice and clean.

I toured Kingston Residence of Sylvania. They have somebody right there at the desk, and they are more than happy to help. Everybody seemed more at ease and peaceful. The rooms were very nice. The security and just the overall was very reassuring.

I had surgery and than was admitted to Kingston.. My pain meds were often late like more than two hours ,sometimes on time… At first they were giving me my insulin and after awhile no insulin and I had to start asking for insulin.. They were giving me two medications that were not suppose to have been given at the same time and caused my blood pressure to drop to low! I had not had a BM in six days and they were giving me things for that but someone told me they flagged it on day three n was reported that I had one on day three was not correct! One of the aids had a very bad attitude. Food was so bad there were time I did not eat and told me if I went to the cafeteria I could get better food… Their physical and occupational therapist store great!

I wound not send my worst enemy to this place!!! We kept calling for a nurse when my mother needed help going to the bathroom. We had to wait over 45 minites for a nurse to come, By the time they got there it was too late. She also needed help eating but no one told us so she never ate!!

Kingston Residence of Sylvania was pretty nice. The apartment just felt more like a hotel room. It was only a big open room with a counter, a mini fridge, a sink, and no separate bedroom. They had lots of courtyards though and at the end of every hall, there's a sitting room. The place was pretty clean and really nice inside. The lady who gave a tour was nice and knowledgeable. She answered all of our questions as well.

I visited Kingston Residence of Sylvania. The apartments were very small, and the bathrooms were very small. Everything was very small, and I didn't particularly care for that. The lady who gave me the tour was very nice, and the lobby was clean, but I didn't care for the apartment -- the space was too closed in. There was a community room, and that part of it was really nice. I just didn't like the space for myself. It's way too small for me. I only saw the parking space -- nothing else. That's another thing that's a "no" for me, because right now I'm in a villa, and I have trees and all that greenery. I met one lady who was supposed to be doing the activities, but they didn't have anything going on at the time. The dining area was OK.

Both of my parents were residents my mother 8 months my dad over 2 years. Some of the things I seen and documented was unbelievable !! We also had to pay an outside person to come in and sit with my dad.It was very clear my father was dying and the day of his death the head nurse didn’t like how I answered my phone so she text me and said she had news about my father but now I could call and ask another nurse. My father was dying !! Worse place ever !!!

We liked Kingston Residence of Sylvania. It was very good. They had a lot of activities that fit into the five components daily, they had a bird aviary, and the assisted living dining room that had just been renovated was beautiful. It looked like a nice restaurant with fancy tablecloths and nice upholstery chairs. The memory dining area looked a little informal, but it was nice too. It was slightly more expensive, and did not accept Medicaid.

I have a very close friend who is in their skilled nursing facility and it's very clean comfortable and the staff is top shelf always friendly and appear very caring and therapy personal very personal and encouraging my only fault I could find is the food and dining room, went to eat lunch at noon in smaller room and every table dirty and had to knock on door to request a table to be buss and the staff were very nice and came out and did clean table but there was a mess of food on the floor which was never cleaned and the food was like standard and I hear they just got a new chief well I got a egg salad sandwich with chips and it was meh! No tomato or lettuce on sandwich even a pickle would have improved the boring none descriptive meal plus tomato soup, no crackers were offered just a jello cup with whip cream throw on top a few carrots in sandwich or place a raw veg on plate really disappointing

Very short version... told 1 thing at interview of all they will do for dad. Once signed and moved in, WOW! He needs thickened liquids that we provided and help didn't remember or couldn't find it. Dad needed help with brief and clean up, told staff, NEVER returned to help, TWICE! They combined different meds into 1 bottle. Dad needed redirecting to stay engaged with other residents, no one knew what I was talking about. When supervisors approached about things, "we'll need to address it at meeting". Dad had fallen out of bed and was there for about 4 hours before helped. Was in hospital twice in the approx 5 months there. Thank goodness we moved him out! I would recommend DO NOT put a loved one here, but if you do, stay very involved!

I'm happy with Kingston Residence of Sylvania so far. I haven't had any issues. The nurse practitioners help out quite a bit, and the nurses are on top of the list. They help me when I need it. They have plenty of activities available for the residents. One day, there were a couple of guys playing bagpipes. There's also someone who comes in to sing. They have movies and bingo too.

Kingston Residence was the closest one to me. Everything is great, including the food, physical therapy, and care. My mom likes that they have opportunities for them to play games.

This facility has ZERO onsite supervision for the night shift. Therefore when a patient needs pain meds during the night shift while recovering from a total knee replacement, it doesn't happen in a timely fashion, despite the supposed "alert" put in the nurse's computer. It doesn't take anything more than common sense to know that if a patient is in pain and doesn't sleep well, they become: 1. a FALL RISK 2. unable to complete the physical therapy that they came to Kingston for in the first place. STNA's will actually tell you that some nurse's just choose to take their sweet time to bring meds, and I'm not saying 20 minutes, I'm referring to hours. Since tonight's call for meds went unanswered for 1 hr, the patient made his way to the nurse's station to get his meds. When he said he needed them every 4 hours and that he would contact the night time supervisor to prevent this from happening another night, her response was, "Do what you need to do." I am extremely disappointed in our experience at Kingston. So many people have said this is THE PLACE to go for rehab. So my question is, Is there new supervision or owners? Because what we are seeing with night time nurse staffing and the awful mess that is coming out of the kitchen, in unacceptable. The day time clinical directors will say what you want to hear, and then the sun goes down and the night shift's RN's responsibilities obviously follow suit. (Theresa specifically is a gem... insert sarcasm here) If you are considering Kingston for yourself or your loved one, please do yourself or your family a favor and shop around. How they have been VOTED #1, as their sign outside declares, is beyond me.

The place could not be worse. My father has been there for about a week. The nursing staff is extremely neglectful. For example, he is supposed to be given his nebulizer 6x per day; the first day they gave it to him 3x and, even then, that was only with many reminders. He is supposed to be given in insulin shot every morning at 8:30 am. This morning, they finally gave it to him at 10:30 am after he gave them 3 reminders and my mom finally went and complained. The food is equally awful. Tonight's dinner was spaghetti (yes, spaghetti) and 2 meatballs in a dried up hotdog bun! We are having him moved. The place is a disaster.

Kingston Care Center of Sylvania is close to my house, and it's very clean. The staff is very friendly. My dad is a picky eater, but he's eating a little bit of the food, so I guess it's OK. They seem to take pretty good care of their facility and their patients, so we're happy with it.

Kingston Residence of Sylvania seemed very nice, but they made me sad. It didn’t seem like a happy place. When we went there, there were a lot of elderly people just sitting in chairs in the front. It seemed more of a nursing home/rest home. I only saw an apartment, and it was nice, but I think the refrigerator could be a little bit bigger. The dining area reminded me of a hospital especially when the staff said that you have to sign up for eating time. It sounded like there were two different times that you eat. It just seemed like Kingston Residence is for older old people.

My Father spent a month in this facility. The care he received from the aides was fantastic, the care from the actual nurse and physical therapists was horrible! We had a home evaluation done and the physical therapists were too busy measuring the doorways to pay close attention to my father. They reported back that he met the criteria to be released! When he came home he could not walk or do anything without someone holding onto him and we had to help lift him to even get out of a chair! We told the nurse that we thought that my father was getting another UTI and she told us that's impossible he just finished antibiotics 2weeks ago. This same nurse was told that my father had diarrhea, which went untreated for 5 days prior his release. She claimed she new nothing of it! I myself told her! My father was released on Sunday and on Thursday he was back in the hospital with two infection! A bad UTI and C-Diff! I wouldn't recommend this facility for stray animals let alone someone's loved one!

My husband is a former resident. The nursing care he received was good and therapies he received were excellent; however, the daily care, which, unfortunately, was most of his day, received from the NSTA's was most often inadequate and at times, showed a lack of respect. There were a few competent, caring aids, and, unfortunately, many that were very incompetent. As a bedridden patient it was not unusual for him to wait as long as 30-45 minutes more often than not when he needed personal care. Often times he was left unable to call or cover for extended periods of time after someone finally did arrive. It was not unusual for him to wait at least 15-30 minutes to be lifted from a wheelchair back into bed when he requested it. These unnecessary waits caused him undo stress which I noticed in his inability to relax there. Many of the aids were unable to prioritize patient care over passing snacks. Multiple conversations with supervisors brought no change or improvement. Moving to another facility was the only option and solution.

Mom-in-law was at Kingston Care Center for rehab. She went in this facility directly from the hospital. As far as I know, the staff were very good. This is the second time she's been with Kingston and both times she has been very happy to be there. They seem to do a very good job in taking care of her. The facility is very clean.

I would not recommend Kingston Assisted Living if your relative or friend requires much assistance. The majority of the nurses' aides are lazy and do as little as possible. They will leave someone needing help saying they're coming back and never come back until much later. If there is an incident, they all cover for each other and exaggerate or even lie about the circumstances of the incident. For the most part, the food is good, and the daily activities are good for residents. However, if you can deal with lazy people who will lie to save their behinds, then this is the place for you.

My husband & I had his grandparents in Kingston, grandma had alzheimers, this was the only place they could stay together! The unit was great, the nursing staff was the best. I can't say enough good things about the head nurse Sue B. I have already told my husband if I get this awful illness thats where I want to go!

If I could give this facility minus five stars I would. My Dad was there for almost two months and his medical treatment was terrible. Things that happened to him: 1. Forgot to take him to dinner 2. Left him alone in the shower 3. Waited to see a podiatrist for four days and is now back in the hospital because of the lack of care. 4. When he first got there his pull cord didn't work. 5. Had to insist he be released because we were so concerned about his care. 6. Paperwork not completed upon discharge - needed to add his meds. Was told they put him on Cipro that day, when I asked why the nurse assumed it was for a bladder infection - he did not have one. I could go on and on about this facility. If you care about your loved one, PLEASE consider a different facility. The only positive is good physical therapy. The nursing staff doesn't have a clue.

I have been to a lot of nursing homes and assisted living centers while providing support and volunteer work for the community. The Kingston Residence of Sylvania, Ohio far exceeded other facilities! I cannot speak for all of the Kingston facilities as I have not visited them all but I can rant for the one that is located in Sylvania. I would like to comment on a few key points about this facility: the staff is extremely friendly, there is plenty of staff and they all seem to enjoy being there even if it is just for work, the residents seem content yet very happy, the entire place is clean and very well kept, multiple activities and entertainment are provided for the residents that live there, and in general this facility just seems like a very lovely place for any senior citizen. I would recommend Kingston Residence of Sylvania to friends and family, as well as strangers.

My grandfather had a stroke and has been in and out of Kingston many times as a resident and also for physical therapy. It is a very upscale facility with an amazing staff of nurses and therapists. They always have taken great care of my grandfather. Even though other facilities would have been less expensive, we always have gone back to Kingston because of their care. They have an indoor pool and great facilities for physical therapy of the residents. I also know that their dining is excellent and they even have a beauty shop on-site for the residents!! It's a great place for those who are recovering and those who may never recover.
