Dad moved to The Commons of Providence. We actually chose another community at first, but they did not accept him. So, this was our second choice. It's clean. He is in the memory care and the staff there is very experienced. They have longevity. The food is good. He seems to like it. They're very friendly and seem to be able to handle my dad's needs as he progresses and becomes worse. He's in a locked-down unit, but they have a library. It's easy to maneuver around. They seem to have activities all day long for them to do.

My tour at The Commons of Providence was really good. It was really organized. The place was neat and orderly. They had a lot of amenities. They had a starbucks coffee bar, an ice cream parlor, and its own shopping store inside it. All the residents seemed to be active and happy. It was a nice looking place. There seemed to be plenty of help and aides around. The staff members were really helpful. They kept good communication back and forth. They have two different sized apartments that are all private. They have private bathrooms and plenty of closet space. The place is really laid out nicely. It is a circular design so that you can walk around inside it. It has a nice, big courtyard in the middle. They have one central point where you enter and exit so that they can track everybody coming in and out.

This facility was very up to date, Most of the staff was extremely professional and helpful. I loved the fact that I walked in and did not have to wait forever for someone to greet me and see if I needed any help. I was doing a couple of tours to find a home for a family friend. We were escorted through out the facility, given the deluxe tour so we were told. We were taken through all parts of the facilities and even allowed to take our pick of residents to talk to. The one resident that I talked to informed me he felt more at home here and had even made new friends. He said when his wife passed away the staff and the friend he had made here really helped him get through it. He was not living in the facility at the time he state but made the move shortly there after as a way to help him deal with his lose. He even went and played cards while I was there with some of his new found friends. The staff made sure they all were clean and comfortable.

The Commons of Providence has proved to be a great assisted living from my experience when my Grandma lived there. The rooms were great sized for an individual resident. The dining hall was large and easily accommodated everyone. There is even a big lake out back for residents to enjoy. The Commons held their own church services each week for the residents. The staff at the Commons was kind to the residents and helped them whenever they needed it. The facility also made the place look really nice during the holidays. Also, activities were available for the residents to partake in. The facility was pricey for some people, but if finances aren't a problem, I highly recommend the Commons of Providence.
