My aunt moved into the Abbington of Pickerington. She wanted to be in Pickerington. It was small and more of a suburban setting, she liked that. We liked that the room was on the main floor, so she didn't have to take an elevator or anything like that, and the room is nice. I mean, it's comparable to most of the ones that we had visited. It meets her needs. There's plenty of room for her. The staff, everyone that I have communicated with or met there have all been very helpful. I called a couple of times. She tells me the food is really good, she seems to enjoy that. I know that she's made a couple of friends because I've gone over and she's been in somebody else's room visiting with them. It was good to see that she was making some friends in the short time she was there. So that was a real positive thing. There was a chapel. And I know that they have a visiting priest who comes in every Sunday for communion, and that was important for her. I was visiting her and this lady came in with this gorgeous dog, a big dog, but very gentle and my aunt tells me about that dog all the time that he came to visit her. She told me this week that she missed her visit with the big, white dog.

Sadly, this facilty has gone way downhill since the previous executive director and head nurse left in 2019. Poor management and a complete staff turnover in less than a year, deteriorating and unbalanced meal offerings for residents, and lack of compassion from the head nurse specifically (and some of the other nurses on staff). It is so sad, because this facility and staff were amazing when my Mom moved in (July 2019). They recently stated that they were no longer able to meet her care needs, which really hurt our feelings at the time (since the two head directors were working alongside us to establish my Mom's new insulin pump and CGM for her T1 Diabetes). While we were shocked that they decided to kick her out, it has truly been a blessing in disguise. After going into Diabetic Ketoacidosis four times (in less than five months) under the care of Abbington's head nurse and nursing staff, Mom is now healthy and happy at another facility (even without a pump and CGM😊).

My mother has lived here for 6 years. The facility is wonderful and attentive to my mother. The staff is so loving and they always make my mom feel like a member of a family. Would highly recommend this place. There are lots of activities for the residents. Beautiful facility that doesn’t have a nursing home feel or smell. Nice place.

My visit to Abbington of Pickerington was very good. I would say it's highly recommended. Two of my friends are living there, and they like it very well. The staff seemed like they were very nice. The place was very clean. The room was just 1-room. The dining area was very nice. I didn't see all the facilities, but what I did see was very good.

Our loved one lived at Abbington in Pickerington for a year. We really liked the Director, Nurses and aides during our walk through and in the move-in process. As time passed, we had safety concerns which were not properly addressed by the management. At times of illness, staff was not attentive and did not follow-through with care. Staff members demonstrated a lack of respect towards our loved one. Additionally, we were disappointed that the facility does not have a back-up generator for times of electrical outages. Residents had to sit in a dimly lit room, lit by small battery operated tea candles, for two hours during an outage. Staff was clueless and in panic mode trying to figure out what to do. No attempts have been made to remedy the situation We have moved our loved one from the facility.

We did take a tour at Abbington of Pickerington, and the staff was very helpful. The facility is beautiful. We like it because it's a small facility and it's all on one level. They have lot of common areas, like the library. The screened porches were nice. It's a lovely facility. They went through with the activities with us, but my mom is not willing to participate.

My mom has lived here for over 2 years. The staff is wonderful. They cater to all of her needs. They have become like family to her. There are lots of activities to keep the residents busy. Glad we decided to make Abbington of Pickeington her home.
