I have a family member here. Very well taken care of Good kind competent staff & administration. Family member(s) MUST be involved in overseeing residents stay here to make sure things are done. You cant just drop off a loved one & not stay on top of their care when in a nursing home or assisted living facility. YOU are in charge of a loved one in facility to make sure they are cared for properly & promtly. This is one of the better nursing homes in the Cleveland area. I have a very good relationship with staff & loved ones stay here. Clean facility, good food, fun activities, therapy sessions, good caring nurses. Always remember...STAY ON TOP OF YOUR LOVED ONES CARE HERE OR AT ANY FACILITY!

This place is dirty and nasty. The nurses and aids don’t care about your needs. Talk down to you.. you hit the call button to use the restroom, but they don’t come for 45 minutes and unfortunately you sit here, soiled underwear for hours. The food is terrible and they screw it up every day. I wouldn’t put my worst enemy here

My brother died in a t shirt and diaper. He had the same shirt on the day before and was sweating profusely. He was not bathed after he died. He was not dressed after he died. He had a horrible bed sore. He was supposed to be shifted around the clock. Horrible, horrible place. Poor people on the third floor. They, the dementia patients came in my brother’s room the day he was dying and left him their stuffed animals and said goodbye. They had more compassion than most of the staff. The stench in his room where he remained for hours before being picked up by the funeral home was unbearable, when we went the next day to get his belongings. Traumatizing experience. He was a Veteran, which makes it even worse. I will never get over the guilt of putting him there.

The facility is neglectful in care of residents in the locked dementia unit. I submit a complaint about the care and they closed my report without a response. Extremely difficult to get ahold of anyone here by phone. Short staffed. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

The staff here should be fire. Staff members do not call you back or voice is full. The office staff does not communicate with the nurse on the weekend. I talk to the office personnel and told them I would like to come and get his personal belong. They said ok. Get there no one know anything. Tell me to come back on Monday. He was on the 3rd floor and all his personal items are missing. Clothes, TV, shoes, coat. I would not recommend this place at all.

I brought my grandfather in from another state to be closer, after he had a traumatic fall and needed extensive therapy. The staff at the Diplomat has been very attentive. Therapy had him up and walking in a short period of time. I am very happy with the care that he is receiving. Best of all, I can see that he is happy. I am glad that I made this decision to bring him to the Diplomat.

My mom was in the dementia unit for 5 weeks and had her hand slammed in a door by a resident, hit by another resident and fell 5 times causing a subdermal hematoma! When asked the specifics of the fall the response was "no one saw it, we just heard her yelling." The residents are allowed to roam all over without supervision and therefor personal items are always being misplaced and sometimes never seen again. It is difficult to find a permanent "home" for a loved one that needs 24 hour care, so please do your research so this does not happen to your loved one.

All nursing homes are not staffed well and the care in most is satisfactory. The Diplomat's Memory Unit is poor due to the fact that the patients are not checked on regularly so they wet themselves or worse and can be in that filth for hours. They all wander into each others rooms and who knows what they do and no one cares. There needs to be more attention to the patients ....these people need you. They need to know someone is watching them and attending to their needs. Do you bathe the patients? Clean them after meals or after accidents? I don't think so. They are not animals...they are human beings. Please make an effort to provide enough staff and the right kind of staff. Kind, caring, hard working people who truly care for these poor loss people.

My grandmother was here for about 3 weeks, she was able to return back to her assisted living center. They provided great care and she was able to return to her home environment, that's very important to us. She was treated well and communication with the families was excellent. Nice group of people to work with.

I was at this facility for a short term rehab stay after my knee replacement. I have nothing to say but thank you, thank you, thank you. I was able to return home within 2 weeks. I can walk again, the nurses and assistants were caring and accomodating, and therapy- all though they pushed me- I was able to return home quicker. Although,my laundry was a little slow to return to my room, I did get it back- the administrative staff were open to listening if I had a problem and they were quick to resolve any problem I may have had, and if I ever need a short term stay again- I won't choose any other place.

This facility has been an asset to the community especially when working with my father who has dementia with some behaviors. This facility has been a godsend due to the fact they can manage some behaviors that other facilities are not equipped to handle. My father has been a resident here for almost 6 years now and since his admission to Diplomat he disease process has progressed in that he requires the secured unit for his safety and the safety of others. The best part about this is that he is able to call this place home and did not have to move to another facility due to the progression of dementia. Thank You Diplomat

This should be short care facility like a holding cell while looking for a safe, professional facility for your loved one. The Diplomat is an unclean environment with a horrible stench to it. The common areas are not well maintained and clean. Food and dried up " stuff" are on the tables and chairs which is quite unsanitary and unwelcoming to guests. Staff can be quite rude and detached from the patients, residents left unkept, alone and often ignored. There is no set procedure for monitoring residents, their whereabouts or needs. There is not enough staff to provide an adequate level of care. There also seems to be a high turnover in staff as well. no one seems to know what is going on at any given time and no one is in charge. Patients just aren't safe overall. There is also no screening of guest or visitors adding to safety concerns. Overall this is not a facility I would recommend!

My mother is a patient here. She has great nurses and nurse aids caring for her. They make me comfortable with having to leave her at a home. If I need something they do what ever they can and they do the same for my mom. Thank you.
