My mom had her rehab at Sycamorespring of Miamisburg. They were very clean and had a really good rehab/physical therapy program. All of the nurses and assistants there were very kind, and the food was really good. I feel like they were thorough in all of the assessments they did on my mom. The thing that I liked the least is that I felt like they needed more assistance or workers to be able to respond more promptly when patients needed help. I had a few bites of my mom's food. My mom had to go on a more specific diet as they discovered a dietary need that she had. They came in and asked the kinds of food that she liked and didn't like. They tried to tailor it to some of her needs. That was nice to see that they took that into consideration, so that she would really eat the food and not just leave it on her plate. Her room was OK. It was a basic square size room. It had a single hospital bed with a chair for her to be able to have an opportunity to get out of the bed and sit. It did not have any kind of recliner chair for those who might want that; it was just a regular chair. She shared a bathroom with the patient next to her. She didn't have her own bathroom, but it still felt pretty private. They had a suite setup. They kind of had their own hallway that allowed the bathroom to feel private and not like right there in the open. They have an outdoor covered patio with some tables. We went out there and had dinner with our family one time to visit with my mom. She was able to go out there in a wheelchair and enjoy time out there. We saw some other residents there enjoying that, too. They also have a dining area where the residents could eat in if they wanted. It wasn't very large, but it was sufficient. I didn't see a lot of residents choosing to do that, as most of them seemed to eat in their room. Their physical therapy space seemed to be very well planned. It was big, spacious, and had nice equipment for the people to use. They did a good job keeping up on the cleanliness. We didn't have to pay because my mom's insurance covered for it while she was there. So that was a really good value, I guess. I appreciated the work that they put into helping my mom be able to get her independence back, as much as she could in the stage of life that she was in. It was very helpful.
